Finally! A successful day of Pike Fishing at 11 Mile

Had a great day of fishing for northern pike and trout at 11 mile Reservior. 11 mile is about 1.5 hours west of Colorado Springs in the South Park area of Colorado. 11 mile is a premier fishery known for great trout and pike fishing especially in fall. I do most of my fishing out of a Hobie Pro Angler 14.

I caught my very first pike at 11 Mile back in 1991. It was in the afternoon right before the storm rolled in the pikes just went on a feeding frenzy. It lasted a good 15 minutes before I called it quits because the lightning was getting a little too close.

Got to love catching pike! They do really well down here in some of our lakes. I told they don’t get as long as they do in Canada but are a little thicker Thanks for watching!

I have found that stick baits over the weed beds work best. The biggest Piece of advice...do not use a wire leader. They are very line sensitive up there. I’ll post another pike video this season where I go through everything I use. Thanks for watching.
