Thank you! It was truly enjoyable. Doing all the editing from our apartment near Tokyo is like reliving the trip a second time, too. Thank you for watching, and best wishes!
Most Alaskans are an interesting, resourceful, and fun bunch of people! The location, climate, and relative isolation definitely are not for everybody though. Thank you for watching and commenting!
That was the main reasoning behind inviting him on this trip! Life is too short, and time is precious. Thank you for spending some of yours watching and commenting on our videos 😊

It is (at least for a few weeks). The videos will vary in length this season. You never know what kind of footage you took until you get home and review it 😂 Thank you for watching and commenting!
Good to know, thank you! You've got to be in good shape to swing a slingblade around for more than a few minutes. Keep it up, and thank you for watching!
WELCOME BACK....bet it feels so good. Once Alaska grabs you there's no looking back. Love the sound of a Beaver on floats. Looks like plenty of projects for this trip. 😊
Thank you, @maryricketts8526! I remember you commenting on the Beaver float plane in the first season, so I included the full remote lake landing in this one! We appreciate you watching and commenting😊
You already put up Bear shutters. Try placing Bear Boards around the direct perimeter of the cabin. Simple 2x6-8" boards with nails sticking up that can be spiked into the ground for easy removal when you are there. You can build a rack to store them when you are there also.
That’s a good idea! I still want to rebuild the shudders, and I plan on placing bear boards around the future deck we plan to build. Thank you for watching!
It was great to see you back! At least you had some help ! I was amazed at how the grass and brush had taken over! At least no bear had broken into the cabin! Fishing looked great! Can't wait to see your next video. As always, thanks for sharing! You should get to 1,000 subscribers real fast! Rick from Virginia
Thank you for watching, @rickfromvirginia ! It's incredible how tall and fast all the brush grows in. More videos coming soon! Finding time to edit is hard between work and family, but we'll make it happen. Best wishes to you!
The production quality is noticeably improved! I especially like the addition of the handsome, debonaire Hollywood actor sidekick to enhance the story. Now, all you need is a riding lawnmower, a Honda 90, and a good for nothing, lazy Shelty dog to keep the grizzly bears away...
Thank you, @JHank346 ! It was good having him up there. He can do some pretty incredible things with some wood and a few tools. I'm looking for the Honda 90 over here in Honda's Mecca! Don't be surprised if we return to the states with one 🤣
Thank you, @billgoeckel6344 ! We appreciate you always watching and commenting on our videos. Working hard in the woods is a great feeling for us. I'm honestly still a little sore in places from all the work we did out there. It's a great way to stay active and keep in shape. Best wishes to you and yours!
Great to see you back. I just posted a video of doing the exact same thing, but with a brush saw and chainsaw. It’s a ton of work and I credit you guys for using hand tools!
Thank you! I'll head over to your channel and check out your video soon. It won't be long before I get a brush saw for our remote cabin. The amount of ground we could cover and trails we could make would be well worth it. We appreciate the recognition for using hand tools though, so thank you!
I do so love your vacuum seal, it was adorable. Just nodded in your direction and found you and your family quite entertaining. your escapades in Alaska will amuse me too, 71, Ive been there and done that sort of thing. Bless you all and I pray you keep the Family well as you meet all your trials and tribulations existence will through on your path.
Thank you so much! I'm excited to get my family out there after it's fixed up a bit more, and are living back in the States. Thank you for dropping by and giving us a try! We will post more family camping trips in Japan this fall and winter. Bless you and yours too, my friend!
Awesome to see you back at the cabin hope you and Dad have a good trip. Looks like porkys eating the place up real good. Fresh fish should be real tastey.
Thank you @michaelmartineau1373 ! They really are, I'm thinking about how to go about protecting the cabin while keeping a rustic look. Thank you for tuning back in😊
I can't say where the energy comes from, but the motivation comes from doing something you love. Thank you for watching and commenting, @Michigan-thrifter ! Best wishes to you and yours
Thank you, @timherzog6720 ! Great people like you is why we keep filming content and editing videos. We appreciate you subscribing and following the journey 😁
Hey man, you should try to hang a jug of pin-sol under the eaves on back and front when you leave. The sent may make the critters avoid the area around your cabin. Good to see you back!!
I'll try hanging a jug next time! I spray the outside down pretty well before leaving every trip, but that probably doesn't last long. Thank you for the idea and recommendation!
The cabin was built in the mid 1980's and many of the tools were brought out then to work the land and build the cabin. The sling blade is probably one of those tools! Thank you for commenting and watching!
Thank you for thinking of us! It was a ton of fun getting up to AK again, and it's good to be back on RU-vid sharing the trip. We appreciate you watching and commenting!
Great to have you back with videos of your place in Alaska. I didn't know you were good with the sewing machine. What ever the critter was it sure wanted to get in the cabin .With all the tall grass and weeds do you have many wood ticks there? or mosquitoes ? It's nice you brought Big Al, he is a big help for you. I bet your Dad really enjoys being with you on the trip, where is he from? Great video, how long are you planning to stay this time?, I enjoyed this video it's like I was right with you. Hope to see your next one. Good luck on your adventure !
Much appreciated, @virgilchristopherson3626 ! I'm not great with a sewing machine, but give it my best shot! I haven't had any problems with ticks in Alaska, but the mosquitos can be horrendous depending on the time of year (they are pretty darn bad in July when all this was filmed). My dad is from Washington State in the US. We were at my Alaska cabin for 9 days. Thank you for watching! More episodes coming soon 😁
I remember reading that you can take the ash from your fire-pit & use it to make a path & no vegetation will grow there. Just a thought to try to help. Love your content & it awesome to see the time your spending with your dad ❣️🍺🍺
That sounds like a good trick to know! I've been thinking of ways to make the paths around the cabin less muddy, more functional, and still looking good. I'll keep this in mind, thank you!
Thank you, and we appreciate you watching! It’s a nice fishing rod, although I may get something lighter out there in the future. I think the reel is an Okuma TG 500. I found it on sale here in Japan and liked the color 😂
Thank you! There's a few reasons: I need to fix a few of the foundation pilings, creating more room to work under there, and to store stuff under the cabin when that's all said and done. Thank you for watching!
Good to know! You will see how we rig them in future videos. The ones from the previous owner are probably 20 years old and very crispy. I'm happy we were able to fly our 3 new ones for the build! Thank you for watching!
@@OhashiOutdoors no worries, they will last longer if you paint them to keep the UV rays. I made polypropylene (plastic)for 35 years. Probably doesn’t have enough stabilizer (Irganox). Stay safe. Love your channel!
I'll keep that in mind, thank you! 35 years is a long time to dedicate to an industry. Your experience and knowledge is greatly welcomed and appreciated😊 We hope you continue to enjoy our videos!
They paid very well and I got to see places and things I would have never seen. Great benefits. I’ve been to Russia, China, Sadia Arabia, Korea, Vietnam, and a lot of Europe.
@@stevewalters4565 Very cool! Considering the role plastics and other polymers play in our everyday lives, I'm not surprised they sent you all over the world on business. Those are experiences few people get to have!
Thank you, @MattAK ! I'm thinking of doing some metal or some other deterrent around the base of the cabin, but haven't settled on a final decision yet. I'm looking forward to seeing your next AK adventures on youtube! Thank you for checking back in!
Mole Skin is a great preventative medical tool. I often get so indulged in what I'm doing, I forget to put mole skin on (and apply bug spray and sun block, and to do a lot of other important things 🤣). Thank you for watching!
Why has no one in North America learned that a front door should go out. Not into the room itself. This protects against a lot of things that want to get in. Not so easy and break a door in. When it stands against a good door frame. And at the same time, it protects those inside that they can easily get out. Also that a door that opens up goes out does not take up space inside.
You make many good points, @ErlingTonnesenRune , but don't let it ruin your day. I agree with your reasoning; however, a door that swings inward is easier to open in winter when there is 1.5 meters of snow on the ground. A big snow during the night can easily snow you into the cabin. At the end of the day, it's personal preference. Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope to hear more of your thoughts and ideas on future videos 🙇🏻
We have a chainsaw up there. I use it on the bigger stuff, you will see a lot of that in past and future videos. A weed wacker is on the list of tools to bring up there. I don't shy away from hard physical labor in the woods. In addition to getting things done around the cabin, these are also vacations for me; I'm not too worried about time while I'm up there. Thank you for watching!
@@rouangarune Indeed, you understand perfectly! If it weren't for my dad, I never would have brought power tools out to the cabin. However, I may still get a weed wacker out there someday.
Seems you don't respond to your dad very well. When he was trying to talk to you while you were carving on that stick. He looked hurt because you didn't respond. Why don't you ever take your dad out to go fishing with you? Just sad...people need to appreciate their parents while they are still around.
Not everything is as it appears. Neither of us did much fishing this trip, but we had some great bonding time in the canoe catching massive pike on our first trip. This was also a fantastic trip! We spent a lot of good quality time together, got on each others' nerves a few times the only way family can, and loved spending every moment working together this trip.
