Wow seeing the fished version at your live, and seeing the process after is a unique perspective. The results are fantastic….what a meticulous job, and as we say in the US I’m not touching the comment “ you will probably think I’m completely crazy” with a ten foot pole 🤣❤️.

Luisa-it’s not you! The lining fabric is much lighter weight & stretchy compared to the top fabric. The upper fabric is much heavier & has very little stretch. On top of that, the fabrics are sewn so that the greater stretch goes around the body. In addition, the tuck sewn inside the vest was done to give you greater ease when wearing it. May I suggest that the next time you want to use fabrics like this, you first de-construct the entire garment. You could leave the pocket attached to the front but I would take the buttons off & re-see them on later. I would then stabilize both pieces by using an iron on stabilizer (or at least the lining fabric) which will give both pieces of fabric an equal stiffness to make your book cover. It’s more work but will take away the tears, stomach ache & bad nerves! 😊 P.S. both journal covers ended up looking terrific! Your imagination & creativity constantly amaze me!!!

Sometimes you just need to take time and stand back my lovely. Did you think you could stitch around the banners and then glue them on to the cover? If you wanted the banners white you could have used gesso.. youcare amazingly creative and I know you have your heart invested in these journals. I hope you can find your joy again. Hi Luise! Me again! Your English is improving so well! I would say though that increasing vocabulary is your next challenge for improvement that I know you will meet with joy and perseverance. Sometimes you use the word "gets" when it might be better to say BECOMES. The verb BECOME highlights a transition of state from being initially at state A to BECOMING state B. This is super-relevant with junk journaling because you are combining different elements to BECOME a unified object. Also in the context of this video, consider the word COHESION and ADHERE.

With the sewing of the spine, ou might have been reaching for the word RAIL or TRACK. Just guessing.

I prefer that you keep the back of the cover blank without the white button clusters. Hope my opinion helps!
