'Putin's bombs are a threat to us, too', German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated before the German parliament. Finally perceiving Russian threat as a real possibility is a positive step for European security, different analysts suggest. Constant military threats to Baltic countries and Finland seem to worry Germany more and more.

Consequences of not acknowledging the soviets were a military threat in 1945. Think of the years of misery that could have been avoided because we gave the murderous Stalin the the go ahead to stay in Berlin.

You hit the nail right on the spot .... The years from '45 to '49 when Nato finally was formed was a mess .... Stalin should never have been allowed to occupy all Eastern Europe .... Should and could have been avoided at the Jalta ... But someone did not care - and that someone wasn't Winston Churchill .... already from late '43 He was afraid of what to come ... and predicted the Iron curtain - BUt you have to dig deep in history to find this ....

@@1000foxtrot As an American, the Green Party seemed LEFT wing as they were focused on a single leftist issue (the environment); such people were always anti-military, anti NATO, and pro Soviet. Baerbock does not neatly fit those categories! I like her. BTW I am 68 yrs. with a good long term memory. I can speak conversational German too.

Annalena Baerbock is not much loved in Germany. Her party, the German Greens, had 20% of votes in 2019, at European Parliament elections 2024 only 11% any more. People don't like Baerbocks undiplomatic militaristic talk, Greens are often called by the people "Olivgreens" now.

European here. I'm as Pro-UA as u can get. Donated personally, etc. But. Please. Don't overdue it. Emotions are understandable (u ARE in a desperate situation; ppl ARE killed every day; winter IS coming). Yet. Us Europeans WILL stand with u.
