I am Zimbabwean and I have been to Lusaka a few times. I swear I never felt like I crossed the border. The people are the kindest I have ever met. Lusaka feels safe and has an unmatched vibe that makes you want to stay longer. The tree lined Cairo Road is beautiful and the flyovers over the railway line are epic. I also loved the experience of walking along the railway line to the CBD; adventurous especially when you always thought railway lines are a no-go area for pedestrians. Not forgetting the lively and bustling markets of Kamwala and Comesa. God bless Zambia and its people. Muli bwanji. Zikomo

I'm Zimbabwean who lives at a bordering town with Zambia and just love Zambians! I grew up seeing us interact peacefully with each other. I don't even feel foreign when I visit. Zambians are generally courteous people, and will help if you ask say directions without giving you attitude etc. I lived in Joburg for 11 years and I can tell you the vibe is different. God bless Zambians.

The gentleman couldn't explain what is FINDECO House.🤣FINDECO House is a skyscraper in Lusaka, Zambia, and is the country's tallest building. It stands at 295 feet tall. Construction of the tower began in 1978. The Finance and Development Corporation ( FINDECO ) allowed the Zambian government to gain control of insurance companies and building societies. MINDECO House, Housed the Mining Development of Company,(MINDECO) another parastatal to look after the Mines. The history of Zambia from 1964 to about 1991 is a very interesting one. I urge young people from Southern Africa, especially Zambians, to learn the history and understand why Zambia is in this condition. Also, learn about the liberation struggle that Zambia supported and its effect on the country.

I’ve enjoyed your video except for inter city & the magistrate office area because since my 2018 video there, those places have not changed in terms of cleanliness. The young lady at Kingsland need to dress like a respected Zambian. Anyway, welcome to Zambia. Fellow Zambians, let’s make her travels in Zambia a pleasant one.

16:15 You asked why are these trees painted white? He responded I think, "there is no reason," and you said "beauty" and he gave up I guess to agree with you, he said "yeah." I asked that same question some years ago in Texas where I live and I was told the white paint was for protection of the bark. I was told that at sometime of the year the bark may get too many rays from the sun and will make the bark buckle and crack unless the tree is very mature. The white paint is supposed to be a sealant that protects the bark. White also reflects the most light waves, it is the "coolest" of colors while black absorbs all the colors of the light. Like I said that was what I was told, and don't know how accurate all that is. In another country the reason may well be aesthetics, but I nevertheless suspect the reason is for protection since he wasn't really sure.

I am from kentucky thoroughbred county another reason for the white paint is to keep insects and ants mosquitos down etc.

Zambians are by and large peaceful people. But the policies haven't changed much since colonial times, when the country was exploited. In the colonial era, Zambian resources were used to build Zimbabwe(Southern Rhodesia), but unlike Zimbabwe, Zambians owned the land(mostly) and were one of the few wealthy and educated African populations of the time, then Kaunda happened. After Independence Kaunda, who wasn't indigenous Zambian took the reins(PanAfricanism is a lie). He didn't care about Zambians maybe even held a grudge at the privilege he noticed indigenous Zambians had compared to his life story. He didn't build upon the colonial era, just rode its tail coat. Within 10years he established a dictatorship when he was challenged. In 1991, Chiluba(Congolese) won the election and used the treasury to finance his suits and heels, filled the country with those ridiculous Blue Buses that crowd the streets and are dangerous for women. He turned the country into a slum, which is why it has been in such a state. AIDs basically cleared at least 80% of the educated and qualified workforce in an already small country. Election rigging became the norm in the 2000s. Mazoka won the 2001 election, his entire goal was investing in indigenous Zambians, but some bad people rigged it to install Mwanawasa who had brain damage from a car accident in 1991-1993(the guy compared himself to a steak, when called a cabbage, he ought to have been a nursing home not getting bribes from investors - he sold a mine and was paid about $200000USD, for a mine!!!!). Policies after 2000 were about selling the country to investors rather than investing in the population. It became a Marketeer culture not Entrepreneurship because it was about living pay-check to pay-check, not building industry. Lungu(Hutu) was a dictator in the making, the country had Kabobas(Thugs) in Parliament who burned money(Country Money) in their social media videos to show how much they had to burn. His policies opened the borders, deregulated foreign investors and basically attempted to enslave the population to investors(who abuse their employees), but he didn't count on the love Zambians have for country to save it, the Army's discipline rooted in a proud, storied history, and the citizens value for education-- pre-Independence ideologies that formed the coalition among the 72 tribes and pro-Indigenous African White Settlers(we still remember & honor it) to save the country from colonialism. Lungu failed to understand that Northern Rhodesia was never a colony but a protectorate because he isn't Zambian and doesn't know our country's history. He didn't know the Army Barracks(Tug Argan, Arakan, Chindwin, Kalewa) are named for the wars the Northern Rhodesian Regiment didn't have to fight since they were 'protected persons' but fought during WWII, so the Army has high standards to live up to and honor. What you've found is a country in recovery and trauma. In 5 years it will be much better.🤣 Oh and don't go to Katondo Street again, no one goes there.

This notion of Zambian resources used to build Zimbabwe is unfounded. I wonder who did the accounting? Zim is also endowed with natural resources that can be used to build it, remember? Most African countries (zim included) started failing when black people took over. In as much as i would love to be pan African, I also cant help noticing how we, black people have ruined our nations through corruption and greedy. Countries that got independence later (e.g SA) are in better shape than those that got independence earlier (e.g Zambia)

@@tawandamoyo4105 You need to read the history of the Federation of the two Rhodesia and Nyasaland that is Northern Rhodesia ( Zambia) Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and Malawi, you will then know how the white settlers moved our resources to Zimbabwe where they built their headquarters.

@@tawandamoyo4105 we have had problems in Zambia but I believe we have fared much much better than some countries that already inherited very good economic and social infrastructure. After independence, Zambia has been built from almost nothing, from the scratch to where it is! Coupled with that, Zambia was surrounded by conflicts of liberation from colonialism and civil strife.Matters in which Kaunda invested quite some commitment in terms of efforts and financial resources! I remain convinced that independence has made us better and there is nothing to admonish our black leaders for by wishing colonialism lasted longer! Zambia was total colony NOT a settler colony like Zimbabwe, Namibia and S Africa where the colonial settlers ploughed their economic gains into the local economy! Zambia like other colonies was just being stripped by colonialists!
