Next time in Costa Maya look up Maya Chan Beach resort it is fantastic they offer free drinks, food, paddle boarding , snorkling swimming etc...only like $60.00 always our place to go in Costa Maya cant wait as will be there in April
I went to the same beach for snorkeling thru the ship excursion. I would not recommend the ship excursion. It took almost an hour to get there and park. It took 30 min while we sat and waited for the previous time group and they were still out there when I said forget and left to snorkel on my own with my own equipment. The current was so strong that it carried me from one pier to another very quickly and I had to walk back to where in went in because the beach is netted off. On my way back in I past my excursion group just getting in the water. It is best to just go on your own. And yes the vendors never stop coming by. My wife hates that so needless to say she was not fond of it. The water is very clear, not deep at all, and there is quite a bit to see by the reef. Taxi ride does seem the best way IMO
Went to Costa Maya back in 2002 and it was nothing but a Peer, bar at end and a beach. Took a cheep ($15 a person) excursion to a Beach about 30-45 min bus ride away with open bar, snorkeling, beach games, music and included jet ski rentals…..so much has changed.
Thanks for the information. Flying tomorrow for 2 weeks on Mardi Gras. 2nd week is western with a stop there. Last 2 times we have not left the ship in that port. This will help.

The pole twirling performers are common at Puerto Vallarta. I have seen them there both times there at PV. But that's new at Costa Maya. I don't think they were there when I visited there last time. Kind of cool performance. Just how they do it.
Hi Dipa! Ya we have been to Costa Maya so many times and never saw it so it definitely seems new! We actually saw it when we were just in PV as well! It’s pretty neat the way they wrap the ropes before beginning and it literally unravels!
Go to the Krazy Lobster. They dont charge a chair fee as long as you buy some food & drinks. We got a bucket of Corona beer for $5 (was there in Nov 2021).

Hi! I love following your travels! So much fun! I will be boarding the Oasis of the Seas and porting in Costa Maya in 2 weeks! 2 quick questions if you have time. 1- are there trams on the dock? My Mom and aunt have mobility issues. :( and 2- we currently have excursion booked for Uchbenkah Bacalar Lagoon. Do you have any feedback for this area? Thanks again!!!

Hi Laura! We didn't eat while we were in the area so we can't recommend anything personally, but we did see a few restaurants in the area and we overhead someone really complementing the food from the on beach restaurant where our lounge chair was. We hope this helps and thanks for watching! 🤗❤️🛳
Hi! So to connect to the ships WiFi is free but purchasing VOOM is required to have internet. With the ships free WiFi you can connect to app and use those functions but you cannot log onto websites, use email, and etc. You have to purchase a VOOM package to have access to all of those things. Going to costa maya next month - really want to go to the beach where the water is clear. How did you know where to get dropped off by taxi? How did you find a chair and know who to pay? Have heard of people paying for a chair and then other people come up and ask to be paid again & again. How did you not get "scammed" I guess is the right way to ask? Do you have other beach recommendations besides this beach?
Hi Linda! We just told the taxi driver to the name of the beach and they dropped us off near by. We didn’t have any issues with paying for the chairs, the person who approached us took us to the chair and we paid him. We hope this helps!
We went to Mahahual Beach. Any taxi will take you there - super cheap. We did NOT do the all inclusive. We did the pay as you go. Drinks all day - good service. My husband had great sea food. I had nachos etc (no sea food) with our chairs and paid around 30 dollars US. Gave a good tip. Remember take money dollars if you want to use the bathroom. Bathroom was included in ours, but to use the clean one with lights and running water it was a dollar each time - totally worth it! Enjoy! @@deirraquinn1890
