Mt Flinders, Peak Crossing. Did this via Scott's Track circuit to the Secret Caves.

This cave was home to breeding owls before the disturbance.

Well i went there today!! I found A cave, but after watching your video again i determined it wasn't THE cave. It was just below that rock scrambling part on the normal trail. I got to it after a slight detour from the Southern narrow dirt trail. Was i at the right place, but just didn't look around enough?

Hmm... Good on you! Perhaps you found another cave, apparently there's a few there. I have another video of hiking to the secret caves from the normal Flinders Plum Car park trail. @@jelbuilderfilms Thanks man i'll check it out. i just subbed as well, you've got some decent videos. Yeah i actually saw a few caves from the fire trail on the way up. I wouldn't mind checking them out if i can, they're sitting just above tree top level and there doesn't appear to be any trails leading to it so some climbing/scrambling will be required.

At what point did you come off the track and find the caves? Always wanted to find them

So, it depends which route you take. If you check my wikilocs link in the blurb section, you'll see that I went around the mountain on Scott's Track and I came up the mountain's southern side. However if you come up the main tourist route, kind of hard to describe, but close to the Final ascent up to the summit there is a fenced off section that says area closed or something similar. It is south west side of the mountain... And that's where you start to make your way downwards... And you'll come across it. Will take around 10 mins from that fenced area... And obviously will be easier to find once you've done it. Although this is nice to find and explore.... I have to say the Mt Maroon Caves is a much much better with views and level ground.

John Lesnik Awesome.Iv done flinders twice, so I’ll go from the fenced section and have a wonder to find it.. i didn’t even know Maroon had caves.. I’ll do that this winter aswell. Thanks for the information !!

Hahaha, i posted a video on Insta last year with a pair of snow shoes i made and was testing them out up at Kosciuszko and i was puffing like a steam train, everyone in the comments let me know as well LoL

Yeah, heavy breathing = a cheap laugh. 😁 I've been meaning to get to Kosciusko, would love to do a snow hike or in spring. Once the borders reopen, I guess.

@@jelbuilderfilms Man the snow hike is the best! You do need navigation skills because you can't always see the trails. But I loved it, there's no one else around for miles except yourself.
