I got blocked from entering whatsapp for 3 days due to registering on two phones trying all sorts of things! Was dealing with this issue not working for days. The issue was the data restore tool not being updated. Once I updated that, I was able to see the scan code, and transfer finally worked. Thank you!!! Was a huge headache.

At the onset I would like to thank you Mr. Su Amigo Alex for this lovely informative video. I did it today and it was successful however I would like to add some important findings that I observed during the process - 1. The time taken to back up the data then to download the data and importing will take approximately 6-7 hours altogether where importing of 4 GB whatsapp data took almost over 3 hours. So guys charge your battery to the full. 2. All media in whatsapp will appear on the phone gallery which will unnecessary consume your space and you need to delete those at some other time. 3. Docs and PDF are not opening after getting transferred in the new android phone. 4. Rest all chats and images and videos are totally visible. 5. Make sure not to click the notification tab after whatsapp has been restored else it will show import failed and all data will be gone. I had to repeat the process twice for the same.

Thank you so much! I went through so many guides and did everything but never got the QR Code to scan. Turns out my Samsung didn’t have the data transfer tool even though I factory reset it. I have iphone x and samsung s21+. I tried this method but everytime while transfering this error showed up in my samsung s21+ smart switch app "can't transfer content There's not enough space. You can save your iphone data to computer instead." My whatsapp whatsapp storage on iphone shows 20.4GB, while icloud whatsapp backup showed 7.42GB and my samsung s21+ is having 98.9GB empty space. Please reply to this comment as my whatsapp data is very important for me and I don't want to lose it while switching from ios to android

Oh my god! Man you saved my arse.. I tried many things. Waited for many days to do this transfet. Finally, finally everything went well 🙌... anybody watching plz find a properly functioning cable unless process will disconnect in the middle. You can use a usb type C male to usb type A female adaper together with your iphone cable to perform this successfully.. everything is in right order belive me. Hello Alex. My whatsapp on iphone crashes when it's on 40% at preparing chats, so I can never go further than that. Until those damn 40%, everything goes accordingly. Do you know what may be causing the crash? I'm using iphone 6s and transferring to s20FE.

I was about to get mad you are showing transfers to Samsung only when the hard part are other Android phones but then you did show in the end what is the trick. How didn't I think of it earlier. Transfer to a Samsung and then you can just sync between any Android. Not ideal, but at least it works! Thanks bud.

I’ve tried the steps to transfer from iPhone 11 to Samsung z flip 3, all latest versions but I didn’t get the QR code.. on the app transfer screen on smart switch, it doesn’t mention anything about the QR code, only that the app will ask for permissions. I’ve backed up to iCloud just before trying the transfer too..Any idea? Thanks

Well, I've tried doing the same with iPhone SE to Galaxy S10 with no luck. WhatsApp size is 9.1 gb on the iPhone. IPhone has 27gb free out of 64 available. Galaxy is completely empty (128gb model). I can see the qr code. But the process is stuck on "preparing chats" at 34 percent. Real lame that a company like Facebook rolls out a feature like this that barely works. Has anyone encountered this issue? I've tried factory resetting thr galaxy phone again, restarting the iPhone, Changing cables without any luck.

Hi, you are right, but pls try reducing your WhatsApp backup size, delete all those videos and memes from all those group chats, thats should work. Also update everything to the latest version including OS and all the Google data apps (Samsung SmartSwitch, Data Restore Tool)

@@Firebus1122 The problem is that the WhatsApp backup on iCloud has a different format that the WhatsApp backup on Android thus they are not interchangeable, thats why we need an app like Smart Switch to do the job.

Good morning Alex The issued that I am having is that I could not transfer my WhatsApp chats histories to a Samsung phone. I tried different way, even backing up on icloud, but still no able to do it. there is a message on WhatsApp that read end to end encryption, and I think that could the issue, I am not sure. I followed this video now but when I get to the Import step at 11:00 it says "Loading..." then after a few seconds "Phone number mismatch. We couldn't import your chats because the number you registered with WhatsApp is different from the phone number used for creating the backup. If you want to restore your chats, re-register with the correct phone number." Which is not true because I use the same number as my WhatsApp on iPhone.

Hi, ai think you are the second person with the same problem, the problema is on WhatsApp not smart switch, I will recommend you to do a new backup on iCloud and try again

I backed up but it is still giving the same error "Phone number mismatch" I know it's the same phone as I had to verify it and get the SMS everytime I try the import again, I've tried about 5 times now

Dose this method work with an Iphone 6 android version 12 to POCO F3 ? my old iphone wont allow me to even install google drive to transfer the data if I had a new I phone i could just back it up to google drive and redownload from android.

My data doesn't transfer. The whatsapp on the new phone(z flip 4) always starts off with fresh chats. No clue why this is happening. Tried more than thrice, and did everything exactly as shown here. But no luck. I am so frustrated, it seems impossible to get my chats onto my new phone. If anyone has a solution, please help.

Nice phone, you first need to use a Samsung device and then once on Google Drive you can transfer WhatsApp to your Pixel 5a

Try factory reset and also when doing the transfer don't accept phone calls, that might interfere with the transfer.

This works for NON Samsung phones too right? I have a Pixel 8 Pro and I ported my iPhone across without full charge initially and it turned off. Everything else was fine except WhatsApp. I don't have a Samsung phone currently :\

I managed to transfer my WhatsApp data from iPhone 6s Plus to Redmi Note 10 Pro. Here is what I learned in this most terrible and stressful 6 days: -There is no free software which does that. Don’t try it out, not Tenorshare, Mobiletrans Wondershare, imyphone, etc. At the end, it will cost you something and it may not work. Those websites make descriptions on how you can use the software cracked, but if you do, it will later say that it is cracked. -The feature from WhatsApp to transfer chats from iphone to Android only works with Samsung. Borrow or buy a Samsung phone which has a USB-C port. There are videos on RU-vid on how to transfer the data using Smartswitch. It will take forever. - Uploading the whatsapp backup on the Samsung phone onto Google Drive took forever too and got stuck at 99 or 100 %. I then decided to exclude the videos. Finally, after I turned the encryption for the backup on, it worked. I also tried to copy the WhatsApp folder from the Samsung phone to the Redmi, but WhatsApp didn’t detect that backup. Perhaps I did something wrong there.

Great comment, Yes Samsung and also Pixels 3 and up can do it, and supposedly phones with Android 12 can do it to for Free. My suggestion is to clean up your WhatsApp backup first, than means delete the junk you don't need on WhatsApp, then do a backup, thank you.

Hola Alex. Yo tengo un IPhone 6S y estoy tratando de pasarlo a un Samsung A52 desde el inicio. Me sale el qr y comienzo a preparar los chats y al 33% se cae la aplicación de whatsapp. Tenes idea de que pueda ser? Tengo que tener instalado lo del Data Restore? Será ese el problema?

Hola Paola, si yo creo q ese puede ser el problema, fíjate que tengas espacio suficiente en el A52 y que tengas las ultimas versiones de WhatsApp, smart switch y Data Restore tool. Suerte y me cuentas si te funciono, saludos.

It's always recommended, first backup your WhatsApp chat history, and then do an iCloud backup of the whole iPhone just in case.

Before doing a transfer, always try to clean up your WhatsApp, delete all the unnecessary and heavy files, that will help
