I like that drip cap, looks great! I'd do swing doors as they will take up less space. Sliding doors would mean taking interior or exterior wall space for the door to go when open whereas for a shed you can have the door swing out so you don't lose any space on the inside.

Thanks! We’re thinking along the same lines. We were thinking about having the sliding door slide on the exterior with 4x4 supports bolted into the shed. Or, alternatively, they just open out.

Hey Guys - thanks for watching! We’re super excited to share this video as the real design of the shed is starting to come through! 🎉 Let us know if you have any questions & what you think of the build. 😁

Looking awesome so far. If I was building I’d probably do swinging doors. But I’d vote for you guys to do the sliding doors. I think it would look awesome.

Thanks! Yeah, that’s been our debate. The largest thought we have is that the sliding doors would have constant support, whereas the swinging doors could sag over time. We’ll be making the decision either way very soon. Thanks for watching!

Looks so good! ❤❤❤ My husband and I built a barn and two sheds. The barn has dutch doors, and the sheds have swinging double doors with one door being a dutch door. We did the single dutch door on the sheds for ventilation and for light if we are working inside them. Don't know if that would work for your japanese esthetic, but I love that you're going for the shoji screen tea house look.

Looks that way. The exterior looks fantastic! Do you think you'll need to further seal the top of the drip cap against the wall or will the angled cut be enough?

@@FoukeMonsterWorkshop Thanks! We _think_ the drip cap will be enough. So far, so good (though, it's only been a few days). Our plan is to watch it over time - we'll caulk if needed, but so far it's working great! Oh, and we'll also have a second roof above it soon - we're starting in on that project next! 😁
