Finally listening to Hozier's First Album for the *FIRST TIME* || The Pen-Game was always strong!?! 

Hozier is mind blowing live. Literally sounds better live than on the albums. Plus, he a beautiful person - literally and figuratively.

He gets this growl in his voice when he does It Will Come Back live? Maaaaannnnn 😩😩😩

He did a slower, more acoustic version of From Eden when I saw him live, and there was something so tender about it? Like you could really feel his care and love towards this more innocent person, and his like, regret towards knowing he'll be a corrupting influence, but still his desire to get closer to them. While I've always liked the song, hearing that version of it live gave it a whole new life for me and it's one of my favorites now. I'm pretty sure there's a recording of it on RU-vid! Love the reaction!

I love the way he takes known lore and takes it from a different POV. He did something similar with Francesca. To me, it seems that he was talking from the POV of Francesca's lover Paulo. He's saying that, while they're being punished for their "lust" he's fine with it. He loved her so much he'd do it again just to be put back in. From Eden paints the snake, aka the devil, im a much more nuanced way than the bible sees him. Its tongue in cheek, sure, but it's also adding a voice to someone who doesnt get one in the original story. Kinda like he did in Francesca

Someone New is kinda literal, & the audacity of the 1st line "Go take this the wrong way" addressing presumably his girl confronting him about his wandering eye. Look up the verse because they are highly quotable & delicious to sing & say.... oh & the lowkey shade to Aretha too with the reference to her signature song "I Say a Lil Payer", it's Hozier at his most fuckboi. Cuz he does have those songs too besides love & devotion.

I still cant figure out what album is best. Wasteland baby was the first one i listened to all the way through and immediately went to this one. Also your calling out work song as a... work song (like a sea shanty) was spot on. He starts the verses adressing the "boys" and telling them whats keeping him going. I enjoyed your take on the "ugly but clean" line in cherry wine also. I hadnt gone there before but you are 100% i think.

Would love to see you continue reacting to Hozier's discography it's good stuff.. but also I would love to see you react to Chappell Roan...shes soooo good!!!

OMG NO I MISSED THE DROP- i was snoozing ngl- BUT OMG ITS HEEEREE Edit: i was gonna try and find something about jackie and wilson for you but its all other people’s Interpretations of it, so like….🧍 Edit 2: From eden is so good🙏 and yeah they were in the garden before eve ate the forbidden fruit and convinced adam to also eat of it and that’s when they got cast from the garden Edit: foreiner’s god is about colonization and forcing religion on the people of that region so yeah you were right about that (this is like the collective interpretation of the song) Edit 4: i love run, its my favorite in this album along with sedated- wastland baby is my FAVORITE album ever- if you do check itnout please do the special version because it has a new favorite song of mine and it just🙏 its so good.
