Always wish we could find a diary of someone actually worked on the dig. Wonder what it took to get someone to go out to the desert and work a mine in such a remote place? PS - Thanks for posting this video!

Looking at the parts of the road you're walking, good that you didn't drive further to have to "back out" At 3:32, your stop to take a "look/see", to where those adet openings are, looks pretty daughting. (the tunnels are "portal"s as they are mines) The miners sure did alot of "gobbing" and back filling. LOTS OF WORK! that those miners did. Any idea what the white, chalky stone is in that area? You sure put alot of effort in finding and getting to these mines that you are documenting. We all thank you for your effort and the "cool study" of these mines.

Have you ever explored the Mohawk Mine near I-15 from Vegas to Baker and it is just past Mountain Pass on right. Even though it is close to freeway it is hard to get to.

The biggest ??? is how in the world did a guy from Alaska decide to explore mines in Death Valley or in the desert Southwest in general ???

Sounds like you caught something on your audio time was 1845 to 1853 you can hear some kind of mumbling in the background like maybe a old miner talking or something.

Took some real men to dig , blast,tunnel and take product out of these remote areas. Thx for the explore...that was not a good road, common sense prevailed.
