WOW What a amazing performance by Floor and Revamp! Thanks for recommending this to me guys! Much Love! #floorjansen #revamp #nightwish #nightwisharmy #live #reaction
YESSSS, Blond and charismatic Floor Jansen Ladies and Gentlemen !!!!! Do You Want More? Start Floor's first Band After Forever !!! Here Are suggestions: After Forever - Face your Demons, Dreamflight, Energize Me (1995-2009) ReVamp - Sweet Curse, The Trial of Monsters, Wild Card (2009-2016) NORTHWARD - While Love Died, Storm In A Glass (2018) NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘
I can recommend the song Face Your Demons, that Floor recorded with After Forever, but then the more recent version, during her solo concert Amsterdam Live late 2021. Crowd funding made it possible to register the whole concert and Floor put it on her channel.
Well, as a matter of fact her first band After Forever opened for Nightwish. After firing their first front woman Tarja Turunen in 2005 Tuomas considered signing Floor but finally decided not to do it because she was very much active with After Forever.
124 Spider here. Something that you should know about FLOOR JANSEN. She started singing in a symphonic metal band at just 16 years old. After Forever (1995-2009). Then she created a new Progressive Metal band, ReVamp (2009-2016). In 2018 she released a personal Hard Rock project (Northward). In 2012, she was invited by Nightwish to finish their world tour, after the band's second female singer (Annete Olzon) left. In 2013 she became Nightwish's full time lead Vocalist. She is a singing teacher. She sings in Dutch, German, English, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian and Latin. She sings Heavy Metal, Trash Metal, Pop, Rock, Symphonic Metal, Arya and Opera. She even sang rap. THE BEST SINGER TODAY IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
It was after delving into Floor's early history that I made up my mind that she is the most complete and greatest rock/metal vocalist I've ever heard. Within one person, she embodies Mercury, Dio, Halford, Bellamy, Labrie, Dickenson, etc. She has it all. I take nothing from the legendary status of all these truly magnificent and eminently talented people. I just think Floor is the greatest ALL ROUND vocalist. Period!
Her e are some of my favourites from the history of Floor. From her first band band 'After Forever': Energize me: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fjm4BrNAf6s.html Monolith of Doubt: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3TmKHkQx45U.html Dreamflight: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-73-_F9prx4I.html 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song as you saw. Another example and probably her 'heaviest' song: Misery’s no Crime: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SNPesLFTnUg.html (It is a fancam, but the sound is reasonable). Tuomas knew Floor since 2002 when After Forever was a support act for Nightwish during their Europe Tour.
Expect the unexpected from this vocal genius. Her first band - After Forever, which she joined aged 16, did actually open for Nightwish so she was very well kown by Tuomas and company. After Forever were one of the pioneers of symphonic metal or progressive metal when they appeared in the 1990s. To see a beautiful and very young Floor and, more importantly, hear her incredible vocals i suggest Dreamflight - i promise you that you will be surprised and astonished by this young lady's performance & skills
Want to get to know the real Floor from before Nightwish then After Forever is the band to check out. It is now 2023 and Floor still has been LONGER in After Forever than she has been in Nightwish. Floor joined AF in 1997 at 16 years old and they broke up in 2009. Floor was devastated and never really accepted that her band AF was gone. She started a new band ReVamp but was basically already heading into a complete mental breakdown and burnout. And just 1,5 years later in 2011 she did get a severe burnout that lasted until late 2012 when she got a call from Nightwish at her sisters wedding.
Awesome!!! ReVamp!!! So not sure if you're aware of this, but when you watch the Wacken 2013 show you are watching the lead singer of ReVamp filling in for Anettes spot (Floor was not officially announced as Nightwish's permanent lead singer until AFTER the Wacken show in the Fall). In the Wacken show, I believe after the 2nd song and before "She's My Sin", Marko introduces Floor to the Wacken audience as "new blood" in the band Floor Jansen! Floor put ReVamp together in 2009 and released their first self titled CD in 2010. AFTER Floor joined Nightwish in Fall of 2013, however, Floor was STILL in ReVamp and released their 2nd CD "Wild Card" in 2014! After THAT Cd and tour, Floor started recording her first CD w/ Nightwish "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (she was in TWO bands still at this point.) When you watch the EFMB tour in the Wembley show and the Tampere, Finland show, Floor is still in ReVamp technically. AFTER the Nightwish tour of 2015/2016 Floor disbanded ReVamp to focus solely on Nightwish (although Floor released another rock project called Northward in 2018 that was supposed to have been released a decade earlier w/ the guitarist of the band Pagan's Mind). The following year in 2019 is when Floor was in Best Zangers and that started Floor's solo career, the rest is history lol.
You almost got it. In fact with After Forever, Floors Band before ReVamp, they did in fact open for Nightwish on the Oceanborn Tour in Europe. This is the way Floor in fact became friends with Tarja and how Tuomas got to know her amazing personality and capabilities. And Mark Janssen who used to play with After Forver later founded Epica, which is headed by Simone Simons, who Floor sang and studied and is good friends with. So it is all in fact intertwined.
Bet you didn’t know Floor could be such a badass! Another of Floor’s side projects was Northward and the song While Love Died. Floor goes full on rock chick. Well worth a look.
Graspop ( Dessel, Belgium) whohooo.....this is 4 miles from my house. It is an absolute blast even if you're not a metal fan. I keep telling you, we got the best festivals in the world ( and i ve been places) , we got the most of them per square mile, the most award winning, best organized, and what is considered the first as well. Sorry man getting very chauvenist here, but i'm not exaggerating. Summers are really good here if you like music.🤘❤️ Ps: Today we celibrate the Flemish ( dutchspeaking) community in Belgium, our national day, so this means -> more festivals 😂
Northward: “While Love Died” ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bAiPeSsqD-4.html&feature=shareb …Floor doesn’t really make use of her entire range like other songs, but still a fun rocking song. (Would have done great on US radio if it had ever been given a chance over here)
Next Revamp? Trial of Monsters and the cover for fun Lady Gaga‘ Bad Romance’ in Sittard. Floor nailed it. And of course her first band After Forever. AF was the support act for Nightwish in 2002. There Tuomas discovered Floor
Floor is a master, and I love that it's captured here on RU-vid. In this song; she rips your soul from your chest and grinds it into hamburger. Next, she sings the Frozen song. Yeap. Okay good. A+ all the way.
After Forever Song's I recommend would be : Monolith of Doubt My pledge of Allegiance #1 Dreamflight Revamp songs: Misery's no crime Sweet curse The Trial of Monsters Great video 🤘
the lady does have it all..check out the docu :" Learn the checklist in 48 hours"..her you see how Nightwish made contact with Floor and the reason why....
Hello, beautiful reaction, here you can see Floor's versatility, how she can move her voice between a growl and a high note, just our Goddess, if you are interested in Floor's history, I recommend her first band After Forever, greetings
As I understand, Floor did almost everything for this band. Paperwork, logistical arrangements, planning, finances, composing and execution. It burnt her up. Floor now says that Revamp was an explosion of anger and she still in not sure where it came from. I think I know, she was still hurt by the dissolution of After Forever. When the burn out got better, she got a phone call from Nightwish to go to the USA and perform 48 hours later with them in the Seattle gig as Nightwish suddenly lost its singer due to differences in opinion. And Floor did it. She said she was never so nervous in her life. There is film about that moment just before the show and during the show. The rest is history.
mostly correct. Floor was being considered to replace Annette during the tour while she went on maternity leave. However no offer had been made ... yet. Tuomas and Floor have both talked about this in interviews, that it was a possibility. However, during the first few months of the tour Annette and the other members started having serious conflict - Annette was pushing back on a lot of things. The idea of Floor filling in was a big one. The reason Floor was called in was due to the way Annette reacted when the band did a show without her while she was in the ER for the flu. At that point it went from Annette being out for maternity leave in a few months to dumping her immediately. Later Annette said in an interview she was against the band using Floor as a singer while she was on maternity leave because she feared losing her job. She did but because of her tantrums.
@@williamthomas7509 Anette also stated that she knew the fans would prefer Floor to her. She was afraid that when she returned from mat leave, she would get the same sort of hate from the fans as she did when replacing Tarja. That's the big reason why she was so against Floor replacing her during her mat leave. I certainly can see her point of view on this, but unfortunately the mess was of her own making.
Just in case you missed it in 'Empty Hope', Floor growls 🤣This song was written by her, which makes sense because Slayer was her favorite band growing up, but it's still quite a shock the first time. They did indeed meet when After Forever was opening for Nightwish.
Floor started ReVamp after her first band, After Forever broke up. She was doing pretty much everything for the band, from writing songs to booking gigs, promoting the band, etc., and she experienced burnout after that first tour, and put everything on hold. During that, was when Tuomas and Marko reached out to see if she was interested in filling in for Anette on their tour, which was currently in the western US. As she was beginning to recover from her burn out, she agreed and jumped on a plane, learned the set list and performed with Nightwish two days later in Seattle on October 1, 2012. You should watch the documentary “Please Learn the Setlist in 48 hours”. Although Floor had also accepted becoming the fulltime lead singer for Nightwish, ReVamp did continue after the Nightwish tour had ended. They produced a second album and toured with Sabaton in 2014, where she met her future husband Hannes Van Dahl, the drummer for Sabaton on tour in the US. Definitely check out a little more ReVamp and a lot more After Forever. Also, you should check out what the band put out congratulating Floor on her 10th anniversary with the band. A video montage of her performing Storytime over the years, starting with that first Seattle show. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8as3D4whguI.html
And now to something else - also Floor on full throttle Northward - 'While love died' - a hard rock project her and Jorn Viggo Lofstad from Pagan's Mind created in 2008, but due to circumstances. They only wrote the songs and recorded the drums. Then the project died for a decade.... Nightwish and Floor took a year off (Floor gave birth to Freja) in 2017/2018 - and then Floor and Jorn Viggo finished the album Northward. Good sweaty old school hard rock - Jorn Viggo Lofstad is a brilliant guitarist!! - and Floor is really giving power. She even has her younger sister Irene with on the duet 'Drifting Islands'. But here is the link to 'While love died' - great song! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bAiPeSsqD-4.html
I love and miss Revamp. The quality of the videos available may not be the best but the quality of the band never fails to impress. Others will guide you, but After Forever, ReVamp, Northward and the many collaborations she has done with other bands from Evergrey to Avantasia and many more, will cross your path at some stage. Enjoy.
Amazing... This song is so impressive. Floor is the best female singer of all time. Do you need to watch FLOOR JANSEN and devin Townsend singing Neurasthenia
Hi! Floor is a badass haha. Most songs for Revamp she wrote. Not long after this Floor had a MAJOR burn out. She could not sing, not listen to music. Her beloved 1st band After Forever had split. She joined as singer as a teenager and they were very succesful in Europe. She shared stages with NW. She tried to keep the band together, but it die not work out. Some members started Epica later on, with her friend Simone. She started Revamp, writing most songs, but in her words she did too much in the wrong way. Not with her voice, but mentally. It took her a year to recover and than Nightwish called her. Of she could stand in for And the, during the tour threw US. She learned the setlist during the long flight, and she is still called the Flying Dutch woman. Wacken was not long after that. She was still a stand in during that Epic concert. There is a Nice docu about Floor's live as child to now. The reunion, a Dutch show where well known Dutch people meet their class again. It was the group of the Rock Academy. After Forever _energie me ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fjm4BrNAf6s.html Funfact...her sister songs too. Bad recordings! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nvz1QfVYhGM.html Awesome After Forever song, monolith of doubt. You will see Epica muscisians. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3TmKHkQx45U.html
Don't get me wrong. Floor-era Nightwish is legendary caliber. But I still miss ReVamp and After Forever. Lucky enough to have known her since Decipher and I already knew then she was special. What a once-in-a-generation vocalist.
I love all of it, possess all albums of After Forever, ReVamp and Nightwish. Floor in my opinion is "Wonder Woman of Versatility". She seems to be able to do all with her voice what she wants. What a range and I like all parts of it, growling and screaming Floor as well as operatic Floor and all between.
ReVamp never opened for NW, but Floor's first band After Forever did in the 2003 NW Tour. Some suggestion.
That was a stunning display of raw talent. I have always admitted I have trouble with growls. I like listening to her here. I love listening to her in Nightwish.
For another ReVamp song, I'd suggest Wildcard at Bloodstock. Keep in mind that is in 2014, almost two years after joining Nightwish in 2012. She continued to operate ReVamp until 2016. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IBgVEhODf1c.html The crowd here is pretty dead as it's pouring rain and we can see that Floor's dress is wet from the rain, nevertheless it shows her in full voice and even more deep growling than in "Disdain". There's tons to choose from with After Forever and they did tour with Nightwish in 2002, which is where Nightwish learned of her. "Energize Me" live in 2007 is probably a good first After Forever tune: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QLjizZzzYe0.html
...and yet, we've all seen the path that she re-landed on... Some tunnels are darker, or lighter, or longer or short. This vocal prodigy found her way to her light, mostly Nightwish but so much else. I love the suspense of being gifted with a glimpse of her trajectory! Cheers rl 🤘👹🤘
Pure, unadulterated Floor. Floor's previous band After Forever did a wonderful live cover of Iron Maidens "Evil that Men Do". Would be well worth reacting to. 🙏😊👍❤️
If you wanna introduce yourself to Floor's 2018 side Rock project Northward see these: NORTHWARD (2018; featuring Norwegian guitarist Jørn Viggo Lofstad of Pagan's Mind) “While Love Died” Official Video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bAiPeSsqD-4.html “Storm In A Glass” Official Lyric Video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zHIodbDG7Zc.html “You Get What You Give” Official Lyric Video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Q-Tsd8vF94.html “Bridal Passion” (Northward song) Acoustic Live at Muziekcafe ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LE20mmn4LA0.html
Definitely want to do Dreamflight from 2007 during her "After Forever" days prior to Revamp - the song that convinced me that Floor belonged in Nightwish even before Anette left ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GBLke4zeZuI.html
Wow, I've chacked some of her songs before but this is dope! I rearly listen the song for the first time from the reactions, but this time I do not regred, it's a dope
Floor is 29 at this gig, physically her voice at it’s top, no limits. She was also songwriter, manager, leader of a band. Can you imagine her moving to Nightwish? Vocally it must have been like singing under the shower, just doingTuomas’s compositions and giving them your own twist. And: where first she had to sing for a lame audience 😂, with NW always a dedicated army! She made the perfect step at the right moment…
I'm sorry, I stepped out of the room while this played, Did I miss anything? ... sorry, just had to ... It's always good to see the roots of musicians' experiences.
Another great performance. BTW Floor did open with Nightwish on their tour with her previous bands. After Forever (Floor's 1st band) - Dreamflight Live ProgPower USA VIII (2007) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-73-_F9prx4I.html
