I've been to a number of Babymetal shows in Japan, including the one in this video, and they always divide the crowd into blocks like this. They do it for a couple of reasons; first is safety as it's easier to manage the crowd in smaller sections and there is less risk of crushes, and so they can more easily monitor for people who might be trying to video the show (which is strictly forbidden); secondly, they bring the crowd into the arena a block at a time, so they can control how they fill the arena for the show and do it more efficiently.

Welcome back, good to see you're starting to explore some of BABYMETAL's own songs.🦊The PIA Arena (in Yokohama) is actually one of the smaller arenas in Japan that they've played - possibly the crowds being in sections was just something they do there, we don't know. The biggest was the Tokyo Dome which they sold out 2 nights running in 2015 ... 55k people each night. The choreography is a big part of what BABYMETAL do and what sets them apart. It is bespoke for each song (they keep up that same energy for every song in every concert - they must be beyond Olympic athlete levels of fitness) and is often interpretive, relating to the meaning of the song or a lyric (very helpful for those of us who speak no Japanese), but the main function is to involve and lead the crowd, to get everybody involved and joining in - they give the crowd their cues to jump, pump their fist, chant or whatever. It is unlike dancing you may be familiar with from pop acts etc, so you will never see any suggestive or dubious moves, no spread legs, grabbed crotches or whatever. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is like their anthem, it is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for 'Road of Resistance' (this was the only BABYMETAL song they were involved in) and played the guitars for the studio recording. Here you saw and heard the Kami Band of the West. The Kami Band are BABYMETAL's backing band for all live concerts - the Kami Band of the East are Japanese musicians who first appeared in 2012 and became the full time support for all live shows from March 2014. The Kami Band of the West are American musicians who first appeared in 2019 to play the lengthier foreign concerts and they have played all concerts since the PIA Arena shows on 1st and 2nd April 2023.

Nice one and welcome back to Babymetal! They’ve become my favorite band since I discovered them. Amazing musicianship from the Kami Band, incredible vocals from lead Su-metal, cool choreography from Momo and Moa, insane stage production, dominating stage presence and energy, and most importantly, just good music. Been to two BABYMETAL concerts, 2017 in Austin, TX an 2023 in Nashville, TN! The crowds are super nice and respectful! The music and dancing is insane. Pyro and lights were nuts. Chorus and audience participation are 110%! 4 little Japanese girls (Suzaka, Moa, Yui, and Momo) with a couple of drums and guitars have changed the World!! !! :)

Pits are divided in Japan for safety. It actually makes the experience much better. Having your own little circle pit makes for some great memories with everyone in the same section.

BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the original 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 70+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello and a live music video for "Brand New Day" featuring Polyphia. 🤘🦊🤘

Welcome to Babymetal. Hope this has enhanced your appreciation of BM. They are so versatile that they can do great collabs with so many different artists. That guitar is a Schecter. The sectioned off areas are unique to this performance, not really usual. PIA Arena is in Japan. You may want to add 'reaction' to your title, as that is the most searched for term, and when you upload videos, unclick the box that sends it out to subscribers until you have an established base that watches videos of the band since how the algorithm works. I got it sent into my feed, but not in search results for now.
