My late grandfather own few fruis orchard & I ate durian since I was a baby. Now, I don't feel excited eating durian but mangosteen, langsat & rambutan will always be my favourite tropical fruits.

The fizz in any cola drink will increase the fermentation rate of durian in the stomach. Can give you a bloaty feeling. You will want to pass out a lot of gas.
The big no no combinations are durian + tapai + carbonated drink. I remembered as a kid where I eat tapai then I drink carbonated drink, I ended up with vomiting 😅😅😅 perhaps I eat too much tapai...
Good to know you started with D24. Most people who tried durian for the first time went for the big boss (Musang King) too early, so they ended up thinking all durians stink and taste awful. A simple tip from me to avoid too much sweating after eating durian: drink any cold bottled green tea. You will sweat less and sometimes, don't sweat at all.
dont drink carbonate drinks like cola or any alcohol after eat durian... very dangerous... musang king is not for beginner, because it tastes strong and sharp. you should start with lite taste like D24 or durian kampung...

If u don't like durian do ask the seller for the sweeter & less bitter taste. The bitter taste is for the advance eater like us Malaysian, that's why u dont like Musang King because that variety is bitter & has strong taste of durian.

Durian is heaty fruits. It's best companion is mangosteen (which is much cooler). So, after eaten durian or you says Dorian, then you eat mangosteen. It's balance the yin and yang(cold and hot). I think the camera lady won the match against these 2 guys in eating durian/Dorian. Sedap for those who loves durian/Dorian.
Ohaio sho chan and taka chan. One important thing you must understand about durian is that as a fruit it deteriorate very fast. Durian is basically the sushi of fruits. You need to eat it once its ready. When durian drop from its tree, a chemical reaction start that it produce sulfur in the fruit that create the bad smell. Fresh fruit that drop from the tree have almost no bad smell. A week old durian will smell worst than 1 day old durian. A shop like you visit in this video can hold a durian that has been drop from tree up to few weeks. If you really want to experience durian go find a fresh one like from an orchard or direct seller.
I work as Agronomist for durian estate farms in Semenanjung for almost 9 years, but I can't even eat durian when the season come. I can't withstand the smell of my breath everytime I ate durian. In term of working skills, I failed the taste skill (though it isn't in my job scope at all)
Please try Udang Merah (Red Prawn), the flesh is more towards orange and the taste is sweet,easier to eat. I used to like Musang King but nowadays I'm not really fond of it because it's very viscous like you mentioned and you can't eat alot of it otherwise you will feel very full. I prefer the cheaper ones like Udang Merah or D24 etc.
Never ask 1st timer to try anything other than D24. Trust me. I am a durian expert and have experience sharing with many people. The basic rule is stick with D24. You save money treating your foreign friends and you have higher chance making them like durian

the way to enjoy durian should starting from the lowest gred of durian like kampung durian, D24 according to grade and lastly is musang king. bcoz the graded durian will manipulate our taste.

I think durian ioi and D24 is safest for you. Not too strong. One of my japanese friend said he can only eat fresh durian, the one that dropped on same day. He cant eat not fresh one

for some, they hate it on the 1st try, and eventually getting addicted to it after 2-3 sitting. also dont eat durian with any carbonated drink, the durian itself makes your tummy bloat, adding carbonated soda makes it even more bloating.
I personally dont really like musang king or other durian that taste bitter, sweet and gassy at the same time. I prefer just sweet durian . Best was durian kampung variety. No bs 😂
You should try durian kampung first and eat with locals. They know more which one is good taste. Not all durian taste good even musang king got a bad taste.
It's not good to drink Coke @ carbonated drink after eating durian. It will cause your heart rates get faster than usual. Also there are certain foods & drinks that are not recommended to eat together with durian, such as milk, eggplant.
As someone who likes Durian, it's really weird seeing people eat Durian with gloves. I usually just embrace it. I never once considered Durian to have foul smell to begin with. 19 years of living and so far there are only 3 types of taste, bitter, sweet and mildly sweet. It's like pulling a gacha but most of the time I'm fine with any.
U should pack the durian flesh only and keep it in freezer overnight. The next day most of the bad aftertaste will disappaer, enjoy your durian ice cream.
But durian still better than blue cheese or hakari(Iceland rotten shark).it's about your mindset.durian is full of protein which I guess Sho need it alot.😂😂
