I like how you sit down in a calm manner and taste each durian flavour according to their level..and not rush it..i honestly think your video do justice to our king of fruit bcoz some foreigner they just wanted to boast to their viewers that they can eat the smelliest fruit on earth...but you dont fall into that category. You are honestly fall in love with durian. Nice.
Excuse me not only foreigner...im melayu but cant eat durian cuz of its taste...im sorry...everytime i eat durian, i get a fever and sometimes collapse...
I am from Canada and love durian. I like the ones that come from older trees that have a hint of bitterness to it. Me and the wife we ate 5 durians at once when we visited Malaysia in 2018. The girl in the video is right, it is fruit from heaven. I can't wait to go back to Kuala lumpur for some more after the Covid restrictions are lifted.
I also tried Durian for the time in KL, Malaysia Durians are the best! i remember some tastying like onions, i used that one to make a pasta sauce, was like so cheesy!. I did some reaction videos too!
Tempoyak is actually fermented durian flesh, and it ranges from sweet to very sour, depending on how long you ferment it. Asians are very creative at saving food from getting spoiled; due to our weather, food get spoiled quite easily.
Woah pasta sauce made out of durian??? Im malaysian and thts a first ive heard of someone saying tht. Definitely got me interested to try tht out hahaha
Im from Singapore... Cant deny Malaysia produces the best quality durian... Anyway, there's a sequence to eating them because the one you have before might end up "overpowering" the next causing you to feel it's odorless and tasteless
In many instances, it makes it taste terrible and has a stench. After eating a bit more, it will disappear and taste great again. So, always eat the least flavoured (fermented) ones first and progress to the most fermented ones. Totally agreed with you
You mean compared to singaporean durian? Theres no such thing. 😂😂 singapore doesnt have durian. All your durian came from malaysia. Dont you know how small ur country is?
No problem miss...i like every single word you described what you think about each durian, with the f word some more they’re just sound sooo spontaneous 😉. Hopefully you’ll always come here for the durian season....once a year to enjoy ‘heaven’ stuff right 😆😆
This is probably the best durian tasting video, I have seen on you tube, compared to the many done by foreign visitors. You indeed savoured every piece of the different varieties you chose. You did it with raw feel of your fingers. You gave it a thumbs up. I am sadly a Malaysian, who despises the very strong odour of the fruit. I remember, once when I was driving, when a friend in the back seat, started a conversation on durian. The mere mention of the word durian, made me nearly throw out. I controlled myself by thinking of better fruits. That is how much I am put off, by it's smell. I have in fact, permanently banned durian to be brought into my house. Either you are a Lover of Durian or a Hater of it. No two ways about it.
I grew up in South East Asia eating durian then lived in North America for 5 years. Didn't have durian during that time and my first bite on returning to Asia, thought it tasted like onions too. Rotting onions. But after the 2nd bite, I loved it again.
Other people said negative comment on durian bcoz they taste the too ripe durian, frozen one, import one but not the fresh one.. The best taste of durian is it just fall from tree then open eat more dilicious
You are one of us now lady..Congratulation .. durian taste is u either love it or hate it. There are locals who don't like durian. Yeah u are in haven like the majority of us .. That is why durian is called the King of Fruit.
Yep Angelina, D24 is the most tastiest hybrid of Durian, for me. Most of it because of the vanilla-ish flavour and soft texture. Its so very expensive!
U need to taste it fresh always bring a local guide or google it first, malaysia have many type of durian, here is the type from cheapest to highest price, udang merah, 101/ioi,d24, musang king, black thorn..there's plenty more of cheapest type but normally malaysian will make another type of food from it such as tempoyak
People from other countries call durian as Rotten cheese but here in Malaysia we loveeeeee Durian hahah! ‘Rotten cheese’ at its best! Welcome to Malaysia!
I am so happy that you love to eat durian, because I observed most of foreigners don't like to eat durian. Thank you for sharing and welcome to Malaysia 😋
D24 is one of my personal favorite varieties. I love how you sat down and just chilled, gave an honest assessment of how you thought they all were. Thanks for sharing this special experience with us :)
Yes D24 is very very good and I recommend it as the 1st choice for most people who is trying out durian for the very first time. No point waste money on musang king
Durian fruit frm God n given to all Malays in Nusantara land..then Malays give to all people/race test the taste of durian...let they know n enjoy that is tasty...thanks to God...Alhamdullillah.
Durians are kind of personal since the taste is different between us. Some say good, some say bitter, some say why not... hahaha.. Congratsz for enjoying the King of Fruit....👍😇
To reduce our body heat from durian, pour water into the pod and drink from it. Also, eat mangosteen or drink coconut water... that's what the elder folk used to tell us when we were young. To reduce the odour from our car, put the stem inside or bunches of cut up pandan leaves. Durian can be mixed with white rice or steamed white pulut or glutinous rice, bit of hot water or coconut milk. Just try it.
Her comments about the durian are carefully processed and analysed, like really enjoying and taking time to think or feel about the fruit she's trying. Most of the reviews I've seen on the Internet before we're truly upsetting when they smelt it and quickly judge the fruit as a poop. I appreciate your curiosity and commitment in making this good video. Subscribing!
It’s true that the taste of durian can never be described. No words / description can do it justice. To those who are unable to appreciate , it’s truly your loss. It’s like being unable to appreciate blue cheese or caviar. Durian is so good it’s the ONLY food that gives me chills when I eat.
I see not many travellers trying udah merah (red prawn) durian. For me it is by far the best one. It got red orange colour unlike musang king. Once you put in inside your mouth, you’ll find a very strong sharp sweet taste passing your throat and after a moment it’s followed by some kinda soft bitterness. It’s majestic.
@@zlee001 I have to say that Amran is quite correct. There's something special about 'kampong' or wild durians. Yes, their seeds are large and the flesh is very thin. They look pale and unattractive. But the taste is unique and comes with a strong and lasting fragrance. Every 'kampong' durian has its unique identity. Ask about the durians from the Beserah area north of Kuantan, or the Ayer Molek area in Malacca. Sadly many of those trees were cut down and grafted with Musang Kings and other well known species for commercial reasons. Mind you, I LOVE MSW and feel that its quality is not overrated in any way, just have to say that 'kampong' durians are the original. Long live all durians
Wow... Yes Angelina.. Durian is like fruit from Heaven.. The Best is from SEA country@Nusantara.. Nice tastier the Best Durian in Malaysia... Malu woo... Lalat hinggap kt jari dia tu.. Lalat pun nak rasa Durian Malaysia.. Huhu...
You going to miss it when you return to your country just like my friend who is from UK. Every time she comes to Singapore 1st thing is to look for durian.
As malaysians, we've been eating durian since we were j our mother's wombs, so it's in our dna. Just the smell brings back memories of sitting with our families and eating durian together at our family's fruit Grove in our village.
All these foreigners comming here taking all our good durians. Jk glad you love it. Idk why people always say it tastes like onion. I guess growing up eating durian we dont need to compare durian smell and taste to other things like people who never had durians. To us they just smell and taste like durian. The most expansive kinds are musang king, black king and black thorn. The most we have here the most affordable and most eaten here is d24. Its just so good. Any cheaper than d24 will not taste that good. Some even bland.
Thanks for selecting Malaysia in ur travel list👍👍.. watching ur mind blowing reaction when tasting durians is a pleasure especially when u get confused to tell or describe the sensation for a similarity from usual food u tasted b4.. Durian is unique coz under one name, u can taste the unique of each one of them. I bet, u will homesick with Durian after this 😂😂😂.. U also unique coz u can appreciate durian taste. not all tourist can accept this "Heaven's Fruit".. Liked n Subcribed. With Love from Malaysia ❤😊
For a foreigner eating durian, you did it the correct way which is calmly devour it (either you like it or you discard it on first bite). I have seen on youtube Americans cutting the fruit wrongly(not from the bottom) and eating bad exported frozen durians which are probably from Thailand. Why do Malaysian durians taste so good? Because firstly it is the variety and secondly we collected the fruit after it drops onto the nettings(in the farms). In Thailand, they pluck the fruits early to export like many fruit farmers do.
@@zlee001 ... But i live in Australia it's always frozen whole fruit... I like it like that when it's half frozen and really cold and sweet like ice cream...😊 Yummy
How dare you. It smell like angel's fart. You wont find angels i hell. Well except for one. Depending on your belief. Christianity has one and islam has one too. One lonely angel guarding hell.
We enjoyed your channel and are sad that it is down. One of our absolute favourite was Jimmy Jimmy and it brought us so much happiness! We also just returned from Malaysia and loved it so much. If you ever get the chance - make sure you visit again because we know you loved it so much. We will watch this space and look forward to next time you vlog. All the best! 🇦🇺
You were so lucky. Had the chance to taste among the finest Malaysian durians. These are the best of the best. Heard a lot about it but haven't tasted any of them though..simply because the price is ridiculously insane.
Interesting.... To know you like durians. I like it too ... If you ever had a chance to try the village (kampong) durian. The older the tree. The better its get.
Your facial expression each time u taste each flavour is totally awesome...anxious, bewildered, confused to captivated, mesmerised n then in ecstasy..great reaction!
Durian, as you may already know, is affectionately called the "King of Fruit" throughout Southeast Asia. Those of us who are lucky to have king's taste buds would LOVE it. Welcome to the exclusive club 😁🤭
Right now it's durian season again in malaysia, and the strict movement control has just ended too, so yeah man, we can go durian-stall-hopping 😁hooray! If you are right in the heart of KL like she was and unable to go too far out, then maybe you can go there to durianbb park. But if you can get a ride from grab etc, then you can go to ss2 pj (petaling jaya) which is only about 15km from KL city centre. That's a very popular centre for durian lovers among the city folks, numerous durian stalls - one of the pioneer stalls there, durianman, even have all you can eat durian buffet with varying prices depending on the type of durians, from rm40, to rm100 for musang king. You can check out durianman on their fb. Also outside of kl city centre but much nearer, at less than 10km away, are the numerous small stalls lining up in front of the shophouse blocks in taman sri rampai where domino's pizza is also situated, not far after the giant hypermarket setapak. There's also a small stall selling very nice cendol pulut durian, which you must also savor! Oh btw they say this season will be over end of july, so hurry there😊 and just enjoy every delicious bite!
Durian is a unique fruit... that's why it's called the king of fruits. You need to take in the smell first the take one piece so that your brain can compute then you need to take it regularly so that your taste buds can recognize the taste...
Jeez!!! Taste like meat, taste like cheese, taste like ice cream , look the same taste different, taste like onion, taste like mango, food of God, came from heaven, Is there one description that sum up everything that this fruit is. To try something that is stinking and foreign, you have the guts and you amaze me. Well done.
Idk why but this is the first time I'm watching your video but i already likes you 😊 hey there, I'm from Malaysia 🇲🇾 and totally gonna subscribe and look forward for your next video ♥️💛
People who wanted to try durian for the first time should watch this video first, to create that positive feeling. Cause lots of people try durian starting with a bad impression, like people calling it smelly fruit, or their friend saying smell like garlic or garbage. And because their brain already saying it's bad, imagining bad thing, when it get into their mouth they wont think about the taste. What they think is how to get rid of it.
Hi Angelina... Now u know why Musang King so expensive coz its tastier like fruit from Heaven.. But u miss one type of of *Durian its Black Thorn*..its more Expensive than Musang King... Btw u choose the right place to test Great Durian from Malaysia... Tqvm..
My favourite is green bamboo. A bit more bitter, less sweet and not to dense flesh but not watery either. And not expensive haha. Durian is like wine... more expensive doesn’t mean tastes better. Depends on preference haha
U are the 1st westerner who like durian very much.D101 is more sweeter with bigger seed. U store the durian inside a container & put it into a refrigerator, it will taste like durian ice cream. Musang king is D197.It is better to drink some salt water after eating durian to cool down body heat.
