Finally Trying the Dyson Airwrap + Fenty Eaze Drop Wear Test

Few random tips I discovered with airwrap curling: 1) section off the top part of your hair when it's slightly more damp than you want it to be so that it doesn't get overly dry from the excess air flow emitted while you curl the lower layers. Then, go back to drying the lower section to desired dryness for curling. 2) Dry the ends more than the rest of your hair so that it's not too heavy for the air to pick the hair up and hold it in place. 3) For super hold without using products, curl it when it's only like 60% dry instead of 70-80% and make sure to dry it completely before going on to cold shot; a little more time consuming, but it held up my curls for 2 days without loosening.

I have short and naturally curly hair ( to my chin) and every time I watch a video of someone spending so much time curling and styling I secretly thank God for my hair. I would never have the time, patience and skills it requires! Good job Allana!

Hey Allana! I've watched this video while using my Airwrap 😜 I've been using it every day for the last few months, so I have a few tips. I have very long hair (to my waist) and my curls hold the whole day. My routine actually varies a bit day to day. On the days that I wash my hair I first use a few styling products. I use some heat protection and then a volumising foam from Nivea, hold 4. Then I use the dryer attachment for a minute and then use the stiff brush attachment to blow my hair almost entirely dry, like 95% dry. Then I section my hair and use the 30mm long barrels. My hair on the first day is bouncy, the curl falls out after a few hours, but the volume and waves stay. My second, third and fourth day routine though holds much better. After using dry shampoo I section my hair and use the Nivea Forming Spray (hold 4/6) on my roots and on the whole length just before curling the specific section. When I'm done, I brush my hair out really well, so that the little bit of crunch from the hold spray goes away and your curls will stay beautiful for the whole day. I think your hair was not entirely dry after curling, so yes, that might be the reason why they lost their shape so quickly. So either curl for a longer time or start curling when your hair is mostly dry. As I said - a good foam and texturizing spray will make your hair even bouncier and the hairstyle will hold longer. I love this device and thanks to it I'm able to wash my hair every 4-5 days and I still can't believe it. For the last 13 years I had to wash my hair every single day, because I looked so greasy after 12 hours already. The method I wrote literally saved my hair from getting cut off short. I am a broke student and I pay my dyson off every month, but it's still the best investment in my hair I have ever made. Everybody I meet comments on my hair now and it has never happened to me before. Love you, let us know if you still like your dyson! ❤

I have my Airwrap and I have to say that I love it, and use all the attachements (all but one, from the smoothing duo, that is supposed to be for coarser hair). I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my hair, looks so much healthier and I find that it’s so easy to use! The styling/volumizing one I think is my favourite, because it really gives my hair a bit of oomph in no time! I know the price is ridiculous, but I’ve used it every day since I got it, and I know I will be using it for a while!

Don't play with the curl. I have had the Airwrap since it came out. I have gotten pro at it now. And two things that will help keep it longer are 1) dry your ends more than your rest of the hair. since this is what helps pick up the hair. 2) don't play with the curl. It will last longer since it doesn't move a lot. Wishing you will love it and keep using it.

The airwrap was life-changing for me. I went from flat ironing my hair every day for the last (legit) 10+ years, to using the airwrap. I've used the airwrap almost consistently for the last 4 months, and my hair has never been healthier! I bought mine during the last Sephora sale, and it has been 1000% worth it IMO (if it's within your budget).

I have the Airwrap and hair that is really hard to curl - the best way to make the curls last is a medium hold mousse while the hair is wet and a light hairspray on your finished style. Also, smaller sections next time!

Normally watch your videos while I’m getting ready in the mornings, but I need this now. You’re videos are my absolute fave to watch. Honestly I could have sworn that you already had the airwrap. I just bought it this month and I LOOOVE it. Use L’Oréal tecni art Pli to hold the curl for days. It’s magic. I love it and it keeps my hair super soft like I have nothing in.

I love my airwrap! I use it almost every time I wash my hair 🤩 top tips I have from experience: 1. Rough dry with the dryer attachment until your hair is about 95% dry then switch to the curling barrels 2. Count to 15 seconds on the hot setting and then switch to cool and count to 10 seconds. Doing this I find that my curls stay set all day!

if you spray the hairspray after doing the hair, it's gonna hold better. wait a little to separate your curls. and if you let the AW do it's magic instead of using the technique you used, it holds way better :)

I’ve never seriously considered the air wrap but I am after watching this. Your hair looked incredible! And from what I’ve seen if all you need is a basic hair dryer (which is all I need as someone with more limp, straight hair haha) it’s like a two in one

You need to spray it after in order for the curls to stay. Almost everyone I’ve talked to and saw on RU-vid have said you must spray to set the curls otherwise they fall easily.

Hair should be almost completely dry. Should just feel cold to the touch for best results for me. I let me hair air dry and then go in with the Dyson. Also helps to further reduce heat damage. 🙂🙂 Now I feel I need the long barrels lol

I’ve was a hair model and had my hair coloured by Peter Thomsen before and honestly it was probably the best colour I’ve ever gotten!!

The curls stay better with the dyson if the hair is nearly dry, so less damp than you had the back. I've also found they last better if you use some kind of defining cream on your damp hair that has some hold and then hairspray after, as opposed to before!

I will never be parted from my airwrap by choice... bring on the airwrap series 😊

Oh wow, I feel so stupid. I’ve never used the curling barrells because I found it so time consuming to get my hair to „magnetically“ stick to the barrell. But I‘ve tried using the barrell as a curling iron AND IT CHANGED MY LIFE! Thank you!

Something I also think that people forget about the airwrap is its not that pricey if you think about what you are getting. You are getting a quality blowdryer (I actually saw a girl that did a comparison to a normal quality blowdryer and the airwrap pre dryer was better, not as good as the dyson sonic but still) also you get a flat iron basically (ive heard that the two "flat iron" attachments arent very different so thats why I said only one) then you get two curling irons basically since you get two different sizes and then you also get the round brush attachment now a round brush isnt that expensive but the round brush from dyson is much easier to use than a normal round brush with a blow dryer but lets just count the blow dyer, the flat iron and two curling iron, if you buy any blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron that is good quality that will be about 150-200usd so the dyson air wrap is spot on when it comes to pricing maybe even a bit cheaper than if you'd get all those things separately. And as you said it also is way better for your hair. But even if you dont think about that, its actually priced fairly since you get so many different attachments.

My husband uses “our” air wrap too! He transitioned from calling it mine to ours recently. I used mine for my wedding hair. Here are my top tips: prep with something that gives a little hold (I like the Redken Velvet Gelatine 07 Cushioning Blowdry gel) and to use an incredible amount of hairspray after (my faves are the Kendra super volume, Sahag Air Power Hairspray or the Oudaid Curl Last Finishing Spray). Having your hair rough-dried to 75%, sectioning it into 2-4 sections, and drying it to like 90% helps with the hold a lot too. I gauge it by drying it to the point where I think it’s dry but it feels a bit too soft still. Hope that helps! Edited to say that my curls looked perfect the entire time.

I don’t have the airwrap but I have something similar and the roller brush option is a game changer! I definitely had the same experience as you in the beginning where it got stuck in my hair but I kept trying and it’s seriously so magical! Keep testing it out Lan ☺️

I’m an absolute idiot when it comes to hairstyling, took the plunge and bought myself the airwrap in January and I am in love!! I have very curly hair and am able to get a blowout look with very little damage. I love the smoothing brush to dry my hair about 80% and then use the roller brush for my bangs to cheat the curtain bang look and finish by adding waves with the curling attachment. Smoothing brush first gives me the best results and shiny, frizz-free hair for 5 days. It’s actually magic, enjoy!!!

I have the air wrap and for me, it’s the best money I’ve spent in a looooong time because I’m so rubbish at hair! However I do find that no matter what barrel I use, my hair does fall to a nice bouncy blow dry by the end of the day. I’m definitely going to try the technique you used though 😍

I waited over a year before I could justify buying the air wrap - I figured if I still wanted it for that long it would be worth getting to try. I managed to get it on sale at Best Buy, but at the same time Sephora was having their VIB sale and it was there too for anyone trying to knock off a couple bucks. But to be honest I love it. I never use the curling wands - I found that I was able to get some really nice curls with the round brush attachment when I had long hair. And I swear by the flat brush to dry my hair every time I wash it. I’d say for anyone looking to try it - wait for the sales and double check return policy from which side you get it. I definitely got it with the idea of being ready to return it but loved it immediately.

Honestly I don’t know why you’re impressed since your curls were already flat on the left side when you finished the whole head... am I the only one who thinks that? I ended up selling my dyson air wrap, I was having the same results you had and was so disappointed... my curls lasted a day while they last a whole week with a curling iron

I've had my Airwrap since January '19 and my hair is so long and healthy now I really need to get those long barrels! If I had accidentally broke mine today, I would purchase another immediately. I feel like it got such a bad wrap when it first came out, mostly due to the price and and a lot of user error, but I feel like people are finally giving it another shot recently

The long barrels are a game changer. I used the Air Wrap once when I first got it and hated the short barrels because they made it impossible to curl an entire strand of my hair. I agree it is time consuming, and I don’t see any way around it when you have long and/or thick hair.

Honestly the dyson is great once your hair is dry too I use it on day two also to refresh some of the curls and I don’t even spritz. I only leave it on the second hottest hear setting too in order to protect my hair more and tbh it still curls just fine

I love the dyson air wrap. I personally love the bouncy blow out look that I get. I could never get that with a normal hair dryer and brush no matter how hard I tried.

I think your hair first looks pretty thick and since it’s long it may come out a little faster.. I also think the day or days after a wash it will work so much better too! It looks gorgeous and healthy though! ❤️

I use the smoothing brush before the curling wands to cut down on frizz and get it almost dry first and that works well. But you don’t have frizzy hair. :)

If you want it to hold curl more, consider some firm hold styling mousse. Plenty drugstore good ones.
