People need to remember that in the literature, the side effect profile for finasteride is +/- 5%. What people also need to remember is that that incidence also includes those patients on placebo in the literature! Thanks for sharing Dr Bhatti!

totally agree many doctor given this info only if the have done early a FUT methode. Because of the bald gues the can only tell your hair agressive is already forward, you have to prevent and use Finasteride

I am 21 and taking finastride 1mg/day from last 6 months. I believe Finastride is not working on me. My hair line looks stable but my temporal angle receding very fast... You are sure that the ED side effect of the finasteride is strictly linked whit pre-existing ED problem? because I am 24 yrs old boxer whit 9.0% of fat percentage and highly trained, I think that the side was due to aromatase. I had been on medication for 6 months and I can assure you that the disfunction was real and before taken medication, I have never had the problem under that point.

I started applying minoxidil since past 2 months and taking finestaride since past 4 months but no shedding so far. There is decent improvement in my hair quality. Hair looks healthier. Sir i am 27 years old and suffering from severe hairloss for 10 years. My scalp was almost 50 percent visble. I started taking 1 mg finasteride everyday 5 months ago and 0.5 mg dutasteride twice a week. I have seen some very good results in hair quality and thickness. But i am still having hairfall but at around 30 percent reduced amount compared to prior taking of finasteride. What can i do to stop hairfall further? Also i have started to see hair thinning again for the past few days. Please help me on this.
Yes academically it can cause a host of changes one of which is decreased HDL and high total cholesterol. People with liver disorders are not recommended Finasteride.

Every human is different. Mentally and physically. An anti androgenic medication has to come with boons and banes. It's common sense. Let's not condescend one's decision to withdraw or abstain from using finasteride based on the possibilities of sexual side effects.
Thanks for the note. Doctors should only suggest in the patients' best interest and not do hair transplants without the cover of Finasteride in those who are young and with developing extensive baldness. These patients have been found to be psychologically shattered down the line. They are not ell researched when they impulsively sign up for their first hair transplant under psychological coercion from their peer group or due to the aggressive advertisements about the miracle that can be achieved through a surgical hair restoration. My only aim in making these educational videos is to prevent youngsters falling pre to marketing and coercion.
Doctor i am satyriasis and have insatiable attraction towards opposite sex (female) i am not like normal peoples sexual desires but i am having extreme level thats y i mentioned i am satyriasis ,,, due to. Alopecia i started finasteride on doctor advice ,,, first few days i stopped watching blue films 100% ,,, but after taking it on alternate days basis i found my satyriasis trait back ,,, and no drug can stop me from now on to be proudly satyriasis and insatiable desires

Then it is not shedding. It is aggressive baldness and you will need to revise the dosage. It may even be telogen effluvium if you got stressed due to illness, etc.

@Happy Ri This is true. Finasteride may take upto a year to show it's maximal effect. But then it is the aggressiveness of balding to blame and not that Finasteride is failing you. Try stopping Finasteride ans see!

@@tarunrawat5132 The tablet is film coated. If you take full 1 mg you can take it empty stomach. But if you divide it into 2 halves, you need to take it with meal.
