I love finches and have come to realize I am not growing sunflowers for my viewing pleasure, but for the finches to eat. If I want to save seeds for planting next year I have to remove the heads before the little birds get to them. I have tried covering them with cheesecloth but the finches know how to remove it. Lol
I have a couple of my bigger sunflower heads covered with a paper bag to save for the chickens. I hope it works, I’ll show them on my garden update Monday
