So I head out in the search for some large fatwood deposits in this video. How to find fatwood comes up quite regularly, and I wanted to show a way to get you those big dinner plate pieces. Harvesting fatwood isn't very hard if you are in the right place. Often in the pacific northwest, collecting fatwood is just a matter of opening up a few rotting old douglas fir stumps. So in general, finding fatwood shouldn't be this great search unless you are in an area that doesn't have fatwood producing trees. I hope this video helps out for those beginners looking to harvest fatwood for the first time.
