Great question! There really is not an "average" carpet. So many factors come into play when deciding which products to use in your daily cleaning routine like determining the fiber. Ultrapac Extreme is not to be used on natural fibers and is designed for heavy soil environments which usually points towards commercial cleaning more than residential. It can also be used in a restoration clean of residential carpets but the pH is a little high for Nylon carpet in a normal soil load. Hope that helps!
What would you recommend for pet dander/fungal paw issues? I don't have deep soiled carpet issues just bad smells from my dogs constant paw infections. Thanks

You bring up a great question about the purpose of using a “rinse”. Water itself is laden with various minerals and other things we will call residue. For instance, if you fill a glass with tap water and pour it out and then let it air dry, you will see the minerals and residue left behind after the water evaporates. Our job as a professional cleaner is to remove as much soil and residue as possible from the fibers. Today’s rinses not only remove the soils suspended by the Ultrapac Extreme prespray but also attract and rinse away the residue that water itself carries. So, short answer, yes you can use just hot water. Another way to think about water vs a rinse after using a prespray is to compare it to using Conditioner after Shampoo, versus simply washing out the shampoo from your hair and calling it good. Because water itself is laden with various minerals and other things we call residue, rinsing with water is not as effective. The conditioner (or rinse in our case) removes all of the oils and soils that the water itself could not rinse away and by removing all of the soils and residues the hair is softer and brighter. This is because the soils and detergent that we used to clean have been removed and this increases light reflection and leaves a softer feel, just like carpet.
