Hands up who's watched The Dig on Netflix, and loved it! Based on a true story, and set on the eve of the Second World War, with a star studded cast, this film is worth a watch. The film is based around and archaeological dig and the amazing thing they discover. The film is full of fabulous outfits, lots of humour making it really a uplifting watch. So you guys know what's coming! The outfits.. Well we had so many requests for this it was unbelievable. We have hunted out fabulous sewing patterns so that you can sew the looks on the show.. Enjoy!

I should post my work wear when I used to dig regularly. These days we dress like construction workers, all hard hats and high visibility outerwear. In the day, I used to wear army surplus and boots.

My favorite pattern is the Mimi G. Skirt. I would love to see a future "Find My Pattern" for The Dressmaker, particularly for Kate Winslet's wardrobe.

It wouldn't surprise me if they weren't wearing men's clothing, it's what I had to wear until recently, and it's what my mother wore in the field as well.

I did enjoy this film and the costuming, but this has been more of a reminder to me of one of the first films that made me want to wear all the clothes and decorate my home to look more like the set. Juliette Binoche's clothing, style and beauty caught my attention in 'Chocolat' and now I will have to watch it again and see if I can find patterns to match her costumes. :)

Beautiful film with really old fashioned British clothing that probably lasted people years. A really classy look to aspire to. Loved the video Kate x

Loved this, thank you. Merchant and Mills just released the September coat which would be a good match too. I loved the costumes for Rebeeca on Netflix too.

I'm very keen on this era so thank you for sharing. Why do photos for blouse patterns so often obscure the collar details with the models' hair? It's maddening!

Kate, I made a pair of wide legged trousers influenced by this film that had a 1940s feel to it that had a side zip which I made in a brown suiting fabric that had a very fine black pinstripe through it, it was the Chiara pattern by Tessuiti fabrics, I was really pleased with the results , great video as always x

These are great, Kate! I find the clothes to both elegant and classic. With regards to other series or films, how about Emily in Paris? She, Emily, wears great jackets that would be fun to copy. Also, I love the Marianne's costumes in Normal People, especially the outfit with the silk blouse + velvet jacket and culottes. Thanks for all of your hard work and sharing your creativity!

Spot on. I loved this movie. I wish we had someone like you to comment on the Amazon Prime programming "Making The Cut". In particular I would love to replicate the host Heidi Klum's wardrobe!! In another world!

I think the classic shirt from liesl and co done with a tie front would be a great match for the shirt. It has that relaxed 'men's shirt' fit.
