the section about making art fun and "throwing down shapes" was really helpful, i've felt my art is too tight and lacks energy bc i'm trying too hard to copy the reference and pay attention to correct proportion and anatomy. i've seen sketchier art like the warrior you drew after, but i struggle to mimic that, bogged down by details and accuracy!
I have been drawing for about 7 years, I dabbled in alot of medium like oil, water, charcoal and comic etc, but i'd say I recently found my own art style. So to cut it short, If I could do it again I would have settled down my medium quicker to refine and grow my style.
Hey Kristian, discovered you through your interview with Greg Broadmore. I've been in a rut for the last few months, overthinking everything, doubting myself, and struggling with imposter syndrome and OCD to the point that I spend more time thinking about drawing than actually drawing. Your videos on the mentality/mindset side of art have been a breath of fresh air. Thank you.
If i were you, I'd take those artbooks you have like Eleeza or Karl and just copy them cover to cover with some cheap copy paper and pens... get that Wattsy look moving in a particular direction, get some JUICE
