Finding a spiritual routine for YOU | Starting your spiritual journey 

I’ve been feeling very lost and out of balance for the last couple of years. You’ve been very helpful. I’m a 55 yr old grandmother, and I’m finally pursuing my interest in witchcraft. Any more tips would be greatly appreciated.😊

I feel most connected spiritually when I’m in my garden and have my hands in the soil, even better if there’s a light rain. The smell of soil mixed with rain is magickal. I didn’t get to do a spring/summer garden this year but planning my late summer and fall garden now. I can’t wait to get back into the garden and be able to do a daily walk visiting the plants 😊

My hubby is an atheist and for a while was having a hard time understanding why my spiritual practice was so important to me because he struggled trying to relate. But once he understood how much it was connected to my emotional health and mental well being he started to gain a bit of understanding. Now whenever I make a comment that I'm off or emotionally down, he gives me hugs and kisses and asks if I'm about to put my witchy hat on, lol. I totally agree with this whole video. Very refreshing to hear someone be able to put in words how I view things.

I want to give a big hug to all the fellas who have to deal with daily anxiety, bipolarity and/or depression. Living is hard enough for us, and you being here show how incredibly strong you are in constantly trying to challenge yourself and better your life. You are an absolute hero. Since a steady practice is often too draining, I incorporate witchcraft in only one task a day, and it has to be something I already had to do. For example the thing that helps me the most is listening to sounds to clear the aura, or the self, while showering/before doing work/after lunch. My practice must be zero energy, maximum reward, for my own health.

The three things I try to do daily are meditating, journaling, and reading. I'm also learning to be kinder to myself, and I try not to be super hard on myself if I miss a day. I suppose that in of itself is also part of my daily practice.

Super important topic!! For me it's a lonely evening swim in the lake and a walk trough the forest afterwards at the moment ☺️ It just makes me feel so alive, grounded, happy and inspired, so it's kind of my summer spiritual routine 🌻🏊

I don't have a routine especially but I recently realized that even when I "forget" about the idea, it naturally comes back into my life. I guess I can thank nature (which makes me think often magic all the time and is so pretty ) and candles (I adore them ^^'). In the end, it's the little things that makes me want to feel connected and usually they always come back when I need them the most =)

Your videos inspire to start and begin my new chapter of finding out my spirituality. I think I did what most beginner witches/baby witches do. I did a lot of research on basic things like Wicca & Paganism. I have even made my own altar and started collecting herbs. However, lately I've been feeling spiritually down and my mental health has declined a lot. It's not only my body that craves a new beginning, but my soul. I love how you mention that you need to dig deep into yourself, get to know yourself, know what makes you happy or sad, recognize what doesn't feel good or does feel good. Without knowing your true authentic self, I feel like that can create some distance between you and your own spirit. Thank you for your beautiful video's and your thoughtful messages. I'm at the beginning of my spiritual journey as a beginner witch or "baby witch". So far my studying has created such a sense of comfort for my inner child. I have always been a overly sensitive soul that needs some healing and being a witch has called to me on many occasions. I definitely appreciate your videos and am binging many of them. keep doing what you are doing. 🐢🌾✨

Swimming and walking are two of my best nature connecting/spirituality activities. We have a wet lands (protected nature area) near me. I love to walk there whenever I can. I also find soaking up moon light is something that energizes me in a spiritual sense. Thank you for another lovely video!

I feel so connected when I’m outside with my chickens. Mostly they are skiddish but a few will come up to nab treats from my hand. It’s hard to be out with them once the weather gets cold but I try to be out as much as I can. Tomorrow as we carve pumpkins I will be out with them giving them the guts. They love them.

I’m so here for the Alice in Wonderland vibe of the blue dress and headband! 😍 Speaking of -coff coff- wands…that’s the personal time I’d been neglecting and started adding back into my days. So much better mood when my chakras are aligned in this way 😊 felt guilty about me time before but it’s needed and trying to allow myself that time again

thankyou for this much needed boost of inspiration you are so very positive and this is something that I aspire to have a more positive outlook. I also I love that you say it is ok to have a routine but it is also to change it and it is ok not be so strict. everyday is a new day after all :)

This helped me a lot, thank you. When I first started out ages ago, I was so dedicated and always had some sort of magickal thing going. That waned as I got older and my lifestyle changed. I try to give myself grace about that... anyway, I always seem to get very riled up about it in the spring and then it wanes in the late summer. I think it's because everything is dead from the heat, and I am not a person who enjoys the heat. I live in Texas so it gets unbearably hot... anyway, this year, I am trying to create an enhanced practice, journal as much as I can, pull an oracle card or two daily as often as I can remember or carve time out for, and spend mornings outside with my plants rather than scrolling through junk on my phone. I only take my phone outside as an alarm to remind me it's almost time for work. That has helped me a lot and I am also working on a way to adjust that as the hotter weather comes, so that I can continue a practice that is versatile, and one about which I don't get discouraged if I miss a day, or even a week, due to circumstances or my mental state.

It definitely is beautiful finding your spiritual journey. I have always felt each day was different an because of that felt guilty for not doing a consistent routine. I appreciate you taking the time to chat about it an it actually reaffirms my path. It's ok to have a routine that changes day to day. The one thing that always stays the same is taking care of those in the house (pets kids husband lol) every morning 🌄

In my case, sleeping in nature is something I need to do at least once in a month. When I get tough days (after working as therapist, for example) I spend half an hour or more at the beach. I am blessed by living by mountain and sea side, and home is my daily temple. Meditation and developing pyshic abilities are the core of my spiritual path. Art, nature and stories. Not all who wanders are lost.

This video is a lovely reminder that sometimes a small ritual act which feeds my soul can help me feel a little more in control when living in uncertain and somewhat terrifying times. Thank you, Bex, for the much needed reminder. Many blessings to you, yours, and all.

This isn't talked about enough. Being raised in a brainwash cult, it was really hard to find my own feet and walk my path confidently (I still trip). It took a long time to accept myself and others for who we all are differently and the indifference you have to all is inspiring. I wish more would share the spirit of inclusion and acceptance.

I'm grateful to find A Witch that is spiritual. I know the true Witches of Old were spiritual and wise women. Many channels by Witches or Wiccans really don't understand the earliest roots of what True Witches of Old were about. Thoughts and words create positive or negative energy. I myself and thousands of other people have learned the importance of meditation and how it can connect not only to the spirit within but to a Universal Consciousness. Neutral positive thinking is the key to this meditation. Witches of old were 'very wise women' with a great deal of knowledge about health, illness and healing. They were the bearers of a folk medicine based on natural healing methods, including life-energetic methods, and their affirmation of life and the emphasis on pleasure were also expressed in their ecstatic rituals and celebrations. Like the Druids of old, the Witches of Old felt connected to the flowing life energy within themselves, could connect with the cosmic energy, (I'm sure you know they referred to 'the great goddess' aka The Universe), could let this energy flow through them and have a healing effect on others. They lived a form of spirituality that had not been possible in the frozen and male-dominated structures of the church for centuries. The most amazing knowledge I learned is witches knew how to prevent or avoid pregnancy when desired. So there was knowledge - spread all over the world, by the way - of the effectiveness of certain plants which - for example, processed into tea and administered to women - prevented conception for several years. ( DeMeo has also compiled interesting historical and ethnological material on this subject). In Europe, this knowledge had already been taboo in the Middle Ages under the influence of the Church and had been pushed underground, where it was guarded by witches and passed on to other women again and again. So the church of old labeled witches as allied to the devil. Knowledge is power and power needs people to rule over. To repeat what the church did to witches is not worth mentioning. The Witches of old were never aligned to evil or acts of evil or to a so called devil. This is an excellent example of the "Dark Ages". To undermine knowledge that had taken many years to acquire denied the human race . It is clear to see where evil has it's roots. Through my studies the one phrase they did practice is two thousand years old, and was said like this before meditation. "My spirit, you are all-knowing, all-capable, all-wise, all-truthly and all-loving in me. Your name shall be honored. Your realm shall incarnate in me. Your power shall unfold in me, on the Earth in my body and in all spiritual realms. So I recognize my responsibility and I recognize the truth and do not lead me into confusion and delusion, but release me from erroneous assumption. For yours is the realm in me and the power and the knowledge in eternity". I hope to eventually publish my research in book form but I wanted to share this with you.

When I did this and followed my inner child I found my garden, knitting, everything creative, a religion that makes my heart sing, connecting with the Sun, astrology, Tarot, studying herbalism, wanting to have a farm, music and plopping my happy booty in the forest to chill (weather and critters permitting!).

We are leaving the homestead to return to apartment living. It is mentally needed plus we can hyper focus on the small bits of nature we will have around the new space. Access to our local health food stores, farmers markets and closer to mountain spots that share homemade goods is our spiritual journey. Also, we will be able to go places..more places than just our backyard.

Thank you for this video! It‘s great food for thought. I like that you point out that spirituality comes in all forms and shapes. Even though I love connecting to nature and think that my daily meditation is doing me good, I‘m probably at my most spiritual during theater rehearsals or sometimes dance classes. Both require a lot of being in the moment and are therefore grounding for me. Theatre for me is like a condensed version of life. I often find something like a universal truth in it; it feels like this beam of light that cuts through everything. It‘s also the field where I feel the most creative and I think the main reason for this is the fact that it always needs the collaboration of different people - and there always is so much to learn and to be inspired from others. Obviously, you also have to connect to the playfulness of an inner child, or acting would become waaaaaay too serious. I could go on and on about this… :)

Bex could you do a video on dismantling an alter? I always see videos of people making them, setting things up beautifully, but then I never see how people dismantle them to make a new one. I'd love to hear about what you do with say old flowers, sticks, dried out leaves, or candle ends that are no longer a part of your alter and how you refresh before setting up a new one. My clay, keeps me as spiritually connected. But, I've been too depressed/stressed to do it. I keep having to battle all this negative talk of, "O, it really doesn't matter anyway" "Or it hasn't worked for you". My mind is exhausting me. Anyway, thank you for this it was a very nice video.
