New doors have opened for me in my singing journey with your videos on bite and compression and squeeze. You're such a chill guy and the way you teach resonates with me like no other I've come across 😌

I've worked a lot at improving my singing for many years. The way you explain things (on all of your videos) is the best I have ever run across. Bravo!!

this makes works and makes so much sense. It doesn't sound good in practice but in a few weeks you can get some strength in the higher notes.

yeah it's learning from the right placement which many singers lack.

Carl! thanks for this video. This is the first time that I've encountered a singing coach that is able to explain and demonstrate exactly how to go about building a connected voice in a way that's easy to understand.

Thanks so much for putting this into a progression! This is not clear in anyone else's instruction that I have run into. And I've tried a lot of 'em!

Carl, would you consider doing a part 2 to this video, and demonstrate how the voice sounds when the near maximum connection and power is established.

In most styles 80 - 90% of a singers work is at a medium volume so I generally prioritize that first, not a popular idea but just the way I've generally worked. This guy might be of interest to you he has same cool ideas for singers that want to focus on a deep connection to chest voice How to sing - Powerful High Range - Hybrid Vocal Technique.

Very good. Perhaps the best explanation of this subject I have heard. I guess singing The Prayer first thing in the morning is a bad plan LOL

Great video. I can go from chest to head without a break, but I get more breathy as I go higher. I started with my head voice first before I try to strengthen my mix. Basically, I use the same muscles (arytenoids) that I use to add closure in chest voice. What I've found out, is that arytenoids have to work a bit more in head voice than in chest voice to achieve the same level of compression. It's like if you tune your guitar up, it will be harder to play. I'm used to singing in a breathy tone and I like it. I learned that I need to add a bit more arytenoid squeeze as I go higher in order for the vocal folds to not completely fall apart. It's not a lot of squeeze, but a bit more than I need in my chest voice.

I've just discovered this thing where I can go high without strain by slightly adjusting my muscles in my throat, i think, and when it's on song I get this real edge that seems endless in pitch, is that what you mean I just can't always get it , seems foggy some days or tight

hi im a 16 year old boy and I can't get into head voice without my voice breaking into falsetto. I've tried literally every single technique and it still doesn't work. do you think there could be something wrong with my voice?
