Just the fact you would take your precious time to make these kinds of videos and help show and educate the world where your "problem" is, just shows us you're on a different level. 2sec lean rules ❤

As an admin, I feel this on so many levels. It can be difficult to have our workload ‘show’, and therefore we become ‘available to help’ with other people’s workloads, all the while stressing about that drawer we worry about! I don’t want to be the bottleneck!

Hard to notice a bottleneck 1 min into a video without fully understanding the process and the process flow. But if I had to find a problem after watching 1 min, my first guess would be the layout (it does not seams to be flow optimised), no working 5S (brooms are just standing randomly, no signs and things are not in order), no indication operators are invested in improvements (sins there are very few signs that there are continuing improvements in the workplace, based on this 1 video 1 min into it. this make me guess everyone is not involved), and lack of training and understanding of how improvements would benefit the people working there (mor people would probably be invested if they understand how it would benefit themself). Edit: Assembly area: carts in the way of light switches and buttons, a person not working in an ergonomic way, is working on the floor. (Question is why does he work on the flow are the factory missing some aid that could make things easier or are quality control bad so things were missed, a huge amount of unmarked things all over, people working in a loud environment without PPE, no guided lines to the exit that would make it hard to exit the building in case of a fire and a lot of things all over the floor, its not like there is a straight line to walk to the exit sign. Shipping: Again people working from the floor, and Things are all over the place (1/3 of all accidents is because people are falling or tripping on things), Depending on what type of products are made a packing machine would be considered, Edit 2: You wanted us to guess where the bottleneck where in the first minutes and your answer in the end was that there was no bottleneck in these first minutes(?)

I could see it was the saw, but I didn't want to steal your thunder, Brad. 🙂 Nice set of videos. However, I am still waiting to see the rest of the story from your last project. How did I know it was the saw? Well, the saw is either the source of overproduction or it is the source of the backlog. Putting shop orders in a drawer and concealing visibility is hard to see. I guess if you discovered what their lead time is, you might recognize a lack of flow from the office to the shop, especially in an operation that has so few process steps. It only took me 30 years to see between the lines of the obvious and the hidden. 🙂
