Great advice! I really like the airplane mode strategy in step 2 - Because the intrinsic joy and reward of an experience is easily substituted by the joy of sharing with others, which is another type of reward, which is better postponed! Also the 3rd strategy is awesome.. travelling for me is understanding who I am or want to be by observing other people and realities.
This is a marvelous idea. I love the way you embrace a playful sense of wonder, even a childlikeness, while connecting your exploration to a more profound sense of becoming. While travel can offer a new way of seeing, sometimes it can also encourage an escapist or even consumeristic view: "acquiring new experiences". I really like urban sketching because it teaches me to really look, to really see, and I hope to bring this type of presence into more of my daily experience... But I like that you're adding imagination. Beyond being open to what *is*, what does it awaken in us?
The "presence" you mention is really something that people who don't draw from life really miss out on. It's a beautiful state to be in. Thanks for taking the time to comment 😊
Wow, top quality of videos and contents! I just discover your channel and I imediately fall in love! I can see so much effort in all of these! I am in an art block period right now, but I know in my case it's about the psychological urge of drawing versus the lack of motivation to do it. I know myself very well: after that period the art I create is the most creative than before. I just need to follow my intuition and help it a little with different stimulus (like your incredible trip but less expensive 😂). I'm reading a lot about animal biology for example, I hope this turns out in something cool in the future!
thanks a lot, this one is still amongst my favourites but unfortunately i didn’t manage to make an appealing enough title and thumbnail for it to get noticed. So glad you found it and enjoyed it! on your note about animal biology i think that’s awesome! geeking out about new topics will definitely carry over into your art, in your case your creature design skills are going to level up for sure!
