Let’s not forget the kit was requested to be put on in a matter of days, rather than the weeks other places would have taken. Fast at all cost doesn’t always help with the small details.
It was a poorly made kit, no fault of installer. Not because they said they paid twice as much as the first kit means its better, their demand for the kit doubled the price, not the quality.
Considering the time line that this was completed in there are going to be some issues. These fiberglass kits always need a ton of body work to get panels to line up well. Usually it would be at a body shop for months. Keeping all that in mind I think Mike can fix up some of the connection points and respray some panels to get things looking right.
Yeah if it was me I'd add a few layers of fibre glass to the thin week areas! Would not even take a day to add a few layers on the ever panel! yes you gain a tiny bit of weight that these panels are ment to lighten but not even 20 pounds I'd think! God bless!
I wouldn't count on it but who knows. They want him to build cars but clearly they don't have any of the equipment for him to eo it so I doubt they're serious about it
Mike is an absolute natural in front of the camera! Not only that he can drive and can build race cars, best move bringing him onboard. Tbh I was kinda expecting this sort of probs to happen as the build to me seemed to rushed as well as it being a reproduction kit. Either way I'm glad that it's being addressed and sorted now before being wrapped.
I love Damon running the blogs, but I must admit that Dave is showing he has the chops. I think Damon being sick has allowed Dave to show his skills and he is shining. Mike in the blogs is amazing. He's like the yoda of tech.
Mike adds a great element, you guys have to keep him. They way he conveys technical information in a digestible way adds a great element to the content. Plus he’s hilarious.
Mike is a legend! He gels so well with the team and his subtle humor is hilarious! Amazing asset to the team for builds and for vlogs , he keeps it real 🔥🔥🔥
This is a tough build, people are used to regular lambos looking perfect but race car panels are meant to be thin, light weight and easy to tear off and replace. What y’all want to do with the kit is NOT easy at all
I highly recommend waiting a few more than 3 weeks before wrapping a newly painted car. Stefan Lewis' Corvette was painted 3 weeks before SEMA, where it was wrapped. His newest video so much paint tore off even with the said 3 weeks inbetween
Everyone saying it was because the kit was rushed, fiberglass body kits will inherently do this when doing a body swap drive the car for a couple of weeks and let the imperfections show, get them taken care of then paint the car. The only thing in my opinion that was rushed was having the car painted before really being driven
agreed, if only they daily driven it more miles to see what happening, the boys at LTMW will polish it done properly before even paint it. then again its all about content, ofc they rushed the built to deadline daily upload. this car literally outdone F12 and F550 project that almost 3 years ongoing like what? LOL
Mike is such a great addition to the dde fam. He has a great personality and has the mechanical knowledge that Damon and Dave don’t (no hate). Excited to continue to see the dde culture grow!
@@iDopeCal how is he helping out by putting out videos of him acting like a jackass we could have done without the video showing a few small things wrong with the car
@@alexyoung8983 This video could of done without you too! holy shit a lot of negativity from people all over this channel lately. take a chill pill homie and speak for yourself I enjoyed listening to Dave he genuinely makes me laugh. and I personally like seeing updates on the builds like this, even when its just a small update and friends hanging out I'm still grateful for the content!
@@alexyoung8983You make your life look obvious, your life sucks 😂😂💀 quit watching RU-vid and go get somewhere in life. We all can tell you lack happiness lil bro lol.
I missed the older version of DDE, trips, long drives, and enjoying cars to the fullest. This is wrap, power boost, and that's about it. Seems more business driven than automotive freaks driven.
This was a good vlog, content like this finding a problem fixing and easy explanation is great. Can’t wait for future vlogs with Mike on the team now 🫡 sick Lambo 🔥
@@austingrant6990 wym no fakes you can tell Dave acts fake asf on camera there’s zero chance that’s how he acts around people or he would have no friends
I know the fella that put the kit on meant well but you could tell by his methods he wasn’t really all about quality. His focus was to just get the kit installed it whatever manner possible.
@@thekid3999 12 days, he said it himself i believe. but ofc its kinda expected since it rushed. John himself said he need more time actually everytime some work like lining the parts need to match. but hey, Damon and Dave need some holiday, so they need somebody to work on it for content.
I'd say more than likely the heat in the oven when curing the paint had a big part to play, the likes of the engine cover would be baked on stands off the car and as a result will droop and sag from the heat in the oven
Well good news is Mike can fix it love the rear break light and the hood is sweet and thank goodness for snap on tools and the tool truck there to save the day way to go Mike you broke it getting donuts lmao have a great day can't wait to see tires shredding reminds me of your snow plowing days Damon didn't your Lamborghini back in the day have a similar kit
That's cool you have Mike with you. It's always good to have someone with you mechanically inclined to see problems before you take the product from the vendor so all issues could be taken care of before you leave.. Glad you caught these things before it got worse..
Love those Dave v2 episodes up a notch thanks! Funny how you pushed the last guy to put this kit together in a record time I hope you expected some issues? lol! He still did a great job .. Thanks guys
I’m sure Damon hates this I don’t think he’s ever taken a sick day but when he does boom!! Hope u get well soon hope family’s well Dave step up and take charge my dude
The front bumper and deck lid gap were the first things I noticed. I was pretty much waiting for this. Hopefully y’all can strengthen some of that stuff up and get it a little more reasonable.
im so stoked for more DDE Fabrication. Prime DDE was when Tom and the drift gang were building BONKERS stuff. so happy to see the shop being used for more than storage!
Maybe bc a guy slapped it on with a sawzall and a hammer but all y’all cared about was his watch! All while he’s hacking your Lambo into pieces! Good job.
I wouldn’t say it’s his fault when you put these race cars together they’re not meant to be perfect but they’re trying to turn a race car into kind of a show car
I remember watching that video of the guy that put that kit on and everyone including me was saying damn that guys fast....well we see what fast gets you. also this was one of the funniest lighthearted videos I've seen in awhile, this was great, Eric,Garret, Mark and Mike are great together
@JoeCBR truth 100% too rushed but it's in good hands with Mike and I know it will be fixed back to perfect :) Mike Mike Mike's our man if he can't do it gintanni can hahaa
guaranteed that they did see the defects and still put it out as seems to me not all that many people in the US seem to take pride in their work and are able to do it properly
I would put some high density foam above the crash bar between it and the front bumper. Had a feeling tons of these cracks and stuff would start showing up. The guy put the kit on fast but I don't think the actual quality of the kit is there it just seems like any other typical FB kit. Those two front top bumper brackets (although chopped off now) will for sure still cause issues in the future. Foam or much larger / wide spread bracketry to widen the load would greatly help.
First of all, how did a bodyshop not notice these issues and address them. I'm sure dde would have had zero issues having them fixed. This shows the quality of work that's done there. Second, as soon as I watched the last video I noticed everything they're showing while watching on my phone. You'd have to be blind not to see this stuff especially when you paint the car a color that makes every imperfection noticeable. And not to take away from the dude who put this kit on the car but when I saw him hacking the car apart with a Sawzall I was thinking this isn't going to work out in their favor
Snap-on really is the best brand in the bizz! They should sponsor this channel to showcase how the builds depend on good tools. Love Mike, he's a great, humble, addition to the channel. And everyone standing behind him and knodding is funny AF! 😂
That's what happens when you get a guy to throw on the kit as fast as possible. That dude threw that shit on like a fucking camry. Guaranteed he created all the issues.
Couild told u that it was a rush job but if u build something good it takes time and percision and somebody that knows good body wrk mike knows his stuff glad he is there to fix it
