It's so much fun to hunt crystals. Looks like some nice finds and a good site. I know I sound like someones mom but always use some eye protection or better yet a face shield. Those sharp little shards flying off can cut yo face like budder I've been cut before.
I use quartz points in crystal healing, so when I saw this video my eyes lit up. The ones I have that really are rare have tiny water bubbles in them. When you realise how old the quartz is, and what it took to form the present of these liquid bubbles is amazing. These clusters are stunning. Double terminators (point both ends) are awesome, as are tantric twins and triplets. Sadly we do not have anything really like this in NZ but do have amazing greenstone jade.
Just watched with my 8 year old son. He is always looking through rocks and collecting the cool looking ones. He just kept say "wow oh my God, that is crazy" Luke, he said you are his favorite disc golfer now.
Let me give you young bucks some solid advice. Put some classes on when chipping those rocks...... The last thing we’d want, is for one of you to end up with an eye injury 😎
Luke you really have too much fun! Disc Golf, rockhounding etc. Sure you have been to crater of diamonds. I like all that too! Do you detect and look for arrowheads? Wish we had places to look on our farm but we do have new private course 18 holes in Ms if you are ever this way!
I'm wondering the same, not knowing the specifics of the geology for this area or the ethics and etiquette around it, but I'm used to a general "leave no trace" approach in wilderness areas, so it seems strange to me. Might be fine at this site, but I'd hate to see people doing this wherever they feel like it.
