Iran today sounds like India of the 60s, 70s and 80s. There were only 2 cars available - Ambassador and Premier. Production was controlled by the government and there was no incentive to improve. It would take years to buy a car after you paid a deposit. The models in the 80s were almost the same as those made in the 50s. It took years even to get a scooter. All this changed only in the 90s after liberalization of the economy.
Peugeot did make cars in India in the early 90s , they sold 309s but very few liked them . The company had a tie up with Premier Automobiles Ltd, they withdrew due to poor sales. Peugeot , Citroën , Renault all of these are or will be in India very soon. Btw French vehicles have poor build quality.
French cars don't have poor build quality. The issue is, French brands like Renault haven't been able to work around cost-minimization via effective localization in India. That's why in India, most of their cars end getting lower-build in order to compete with others.

Advanced cars require chips. Very few countries can manufacture chips. Do not compare Iran to Korea as Korea has an economy will integrated with the USA and other Western countries.
Believe me if any Indian brand made the car even is not so good as other western brand but I choose the Indian car even if it is not good as others. Even I choose Indian smartphone which was expensive than Chinese smartphones and it's quality was not good as Chinese smartphone. I try to use only Indian brands and made in India brands. If we supports our brand now then our brands gets better in future.
Sorry, but once I saw a video on the train system of Iran and I was mighty impressed by its sevices compared to Indian first class non- AC train services, maybe the Indian population is to much so the management of trains are sadly lacking.

This model is for 90s belongs to French then they sold the whole line of manufacturing to iran so if you search in Google about this car you will find it Peugeot 405 And iran is still manufacturing the same car
Automobile industry depends on imports of critical parts to create more value to customer. TATA industry import lot of parts for diff nations to make affordable vehicles. Without American sanctions, Iran automobile industry can florish like German industry.
At the same time consider iran is making one of the most advanced drone and missiles, why not in car industry ?? Iran automobile instead of advancing it is going backwards see yes computer item and engine is coming from us of Europe or china then why framework of car is getting day by day weeker
See there is no competition in the market for example they are not allowing private company to grow like if you want to make automobile, they won't let you , soo it is systematic problem we should not put all blame on sanction

Economic liberalization by PV Narasimha Rao opened up market for Tata and mahindra to compete with international brands to create best value to indian customer. Even tesla is obligated to create new innovative vehicle to create its own niche in order to Penetrate current saturated Market.
But first tell us how did you mange to find so many Iranian cars in India ? . Peugeot did not do well in India , but Renault - Duster / Triber is really doing well ( till now) , besides Kwid - kiger are there.

I don't think it is an official import and export between our countries. It is more likely some dealers buy used or scrapped cars in Iran and bring it to India to be redsold maybe lying as from a western country.

Have you forgotten about unprecedented illegal sanctions for decades on Iran? You should be proud of the way the government has dealt with the situation and remained sovereign when the most powerful countries are hell bent on destroying the country.

Mohammed, the cars are not that bad dude, it just require some facelift and some electronics inside. The Iranian govt cannot do anything is because of the sanctions, otherwise it was a really rich country. The politicians and the people who voted for them, choose religion instead of progress and chose to go backward. If people had voted for the right people it would still be a great rich country.
