I've not seen Tarana so relaxed and loose and giggling and kiki like this at speaking events. It really comes through that she wanted to do this and how she truly appreciates Viola.

I truly believe that God put Viola on this earth for a certain purpose. Her trauma, poverty, abuse, etc. were designed for her to inspire others who have gone thru similar situations. She is the perfect vehicle to communicate her braveness. Even her acting comes from a place that is so deep, that she can draw from her past experiences. This was an exceptional interview and I wasn’t ready for it to end. Thank you to Viola and the interviewer.

Hearing and reading her discuss her relationship with her dad made me think about my dad. In his later years my dad became ill and was put in a nursing home. I never got a chance to release or forgive him on this side. It's a process I struggle with and I am working on through therapy. Viola Davis you are a blessing. Your book is truly allowing people to free themselves. Loved this interview and I also it agree it was one of the best hours of my life. 1 love.

I think Viola is a shape shifter. I think she is an Egyptian goddess. I love her sssssoooooooo much. She is not perfect but she is to me. She is a teacher a leader for black womanhood.

Who’s the interviewing Lady? With all that sass it really would be nice to know who she is.

Viola needs to not only travel to Europe and Africa but to LIVE there for years to assess things in her own story. Age, race, size, income everything in American culture is lacking nuance and humanity in a way that affects the way people interpret things and in turn they end up feeding the monster that they think they’re fighting. I’m sorry but for example a Naomi Campbell or a Josephine Baker were gorgeously black women, not blond or white. There’s so much mix up in her personal trauma. That’s like Madonna at 60 saying all her problems come the fact that she’s not a man and that people are ageists. Rita Moreno is 90 years old and everyone thinks she’s fabulous. She didn’t butcher her face and get implants in her butt and then accuse everyone of ageism. She just aged more bravely and ended up being more beautiful. Viola is amazing obviously but to make EVERYTHING about her race isn’t fair to herself imo. She IS attractive but she’s also not Naomi Campbell just like Meryl Streep isn’t Margot Robbie and that’s fine but there’s more nuance to what she’s presenting. Tell a Jew he’s a thief you’re an antisemite, tell a Black he’s not good looking you’re a racist, tell a Woman she’s hysterical you’re misogynistic, tell a gay man he’s a coward you’re a homophobe and so on and so forth, there’s greatness to these times but also mislead and dark aged mentality creeping in.

Viola is such a beautiful human being with soul and heart. She moves me and inspires me to be someone better despite all the pain. This conversation was absolutely necessary! Amazing. 🫶🏻
