Iam a retired Indian army, a lieutenant in the Assam Regiment.I was deployed in Nagaland in the early 1965 to suppressed the Naga revolutionaries led by AZ Phizo. According to my estimation there were maximum 2 lakh and 50 thousand soldiers in Nagaland at that time. It was my first time experiencing the horror of war and the cruelty of human beings. I resigned from my service after the war. I don't want to even think or talk about those days because it gives me horrible nightmares and sadness. I hope Nagas will get what they want soon. I don't believe and support in forceful union Here is my clarification: The Nagas claimed that more than 5 lakh civilians was killed by us but according to my rough estimation 2-3 lakh nagas might have lost their life in that war... My sincere apologies to the Nagas.
Sir, you being an retired army man apologizing for your deeds is highly appreciated and then thanks for your concern towards nagas movement👍👍huge respect
unfortunately it's true that most Naga people don't prefer like being called Indian.I have many friends from north eastern state and it's not the first time I'm hearing this. India was never a nation but rather formed post British exit with the amalgamation of princely states and all buffer areas. Many wanted to go their independent way but then geo politics had its own destiny as would have been the case with any country. Centre should have been more interested in the development of north east and should capitalise on the high degree of literacy there. Guess the lack of apathy make most NE states( not all) feel ignored and been given step motherly treatment and exacerbated by the problem of racism( although I personally feel it's both sided). It's such a beautiful, culturally diverse and resource rich region with simple people. Really wish and hope development comes in and brings prosperity to the region. As far as racism is concerned, I personally feel things are getting much better with awareness and social media. Stayed in that beautiful region as a kid and visited all 7 sisters except Manipur.
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! MAXIMUM NAGA PEOPLE CONSIDER THEMSELVES INDIANS. THE SEPARATISTS HAVE SUCCESSFULLY TOLD YOU THAT MOST NAGAS ARE ANTI INDIA. TO ALIENATE THE NAGAS FROM INDIA EVEN MORE. I have worked in Nagaland for 3+ years... i know...
@@RikthDcruze The separatist? Are you aware of the history of how Nagaland was forced into the Indian union? Do you know how the Indian army came and killed and raped and burned Naga villages because they refused to join the Indian Union after the British left? Just search on RU-vid and you will find the history of Nagaland. Even today the presence of Indian Army in Nagaland is very high and they roam freely in the streets unlike any other Indian state. Because if there is no Indian Army, the Nagas will never submit to India. Yes there are some Nagas who have been spoiled by Indian money and feel that they are Indians, but that is a small minority. The vast majority still hold the dream of a free nation and they do not consider themselves Indian. You must have mingled with those that have no knowledge of their own history and are beneficiaries of Indian money.
I am from kerala, but have stayed in nagaland, it is beautiful unexplored paradise , awesome natural scenery, simple and honest people, good road connectvity, great food, highly recommended for tourists
#Nora better refrain from giving a verdict. If you don't have proper knowledge. A few people voice doesn't represent the whole of Nagaland. Some ambitious power hungry people formed an organisation started poisoning naive minds with fake dreams and promises their zeal burned the whole Nagaland. But they themselves preferred luxurious lives in Western European nations, they preferred quality living for their off-springs, while Nagaland kept on burning. Thankfully people are becoming aware and well informed, our eyes have opened. We are happy to be Indians and we love India. #Nora you are a biker/traveler/adventurer better stick to that; stop trying to be a political expert. Ride Safe. Stay Blessed. Thank you.
To me what she said doesn't seem to be a problem at all. She is a traveller and being in a place she gotta know the ground reality just like any human being will . Don't make a mistake of thinking that she made Nagaland any special I think she traveled the continents if you see her vlogs
The issue in nagaland is complicated, I am a naga and i am a proud indian. When you have a large base of audience as in youtube you should be aware of the informations you are giving out.
I am a geopolitical major studying Asia in general and India in particular. My stance is, even if Nagaland (or the greater Nagalim as you guys claim) become successfull being an independent nation, Nagaland will be hit by severe socioeconomic issues, being a landlocked nation surrounded by hills and difficult terrains will make it even more difficult. Just to give it a more clearer picture (hypothetically speaking), Nagaland will be like Myanmar or North Korea but in a more tormented way albeit both countries have good navigation channels, chances of ethnic clashes are very much inevitable regarding land issues with neighhbours. Forget about development and sovereignity, autocratic rule is bound to happen. It'd be much better for Nagaland to sort out problems with the regime with amicable discussions and debates rather than extremist stunts, not just for the interest of land ,but more importantly for the Naga people. I guess majority of people want nothing but peace. No offence but try to be more rational on your views.
I saw you in Manipur imphal when you stop at koirenge road..Anyway your video are so supportive to our Naga Thank you... I hope come and visit again i will show you more beautiful place...
Hi guys... Do you know?? Nagaland(Nagalim) is not a part of India. India forcefully occupied Naga Hills that is situated in the trijunction of China, Myanmar and India. This long stretch of rugged mountain ranges situated in this trijunction of the three countries, India occipied a portion of it and called it Nagaland, some portion distributed to indian state Assam, manipur and Aurnachal while the another larger portion of it is in Sigang area of Myanmar. The brutal fact is this, Nagas have declared Independent from British colonialism in 14 august 1947 and india got her independence a day after Nagas declared their independent i.e 15 August 1947. India is still occupying Nagaland saying that the Naga hills an integral part of India but Nagas do not accept this false claim because we Nagas are not indian by race or any other references. We are still fighting for our legitimate politica right to this day. And by the way its not "unity in diversity" but its "Diversity in tradition". The fact that Naga's struggle for independence from India and Myanmar is one of the longest and oldest struggle in south east asia. Please don't mind this comment! Its simply for your knowledge! So just be informed in case that there are people called NAGAS in northeast of India who doesn't look like Indian because these people are not indian so they doesnt look similar in anyway to the Indians, there is not a single reference in indian history too, nor any similarities in culture, religion, social life, foods, etc just nothing. The only similarities between Indians and Nagas would be "Being Humans with cells and genetic material". So technically it was "Forced occupation of Nagalim by India". We are fighting even today for our right.... and we will keep fighting India until the last man standing! Thankyou readers!
This is not the way to go dear....you're just making the life of Nagas worse.,..if they fight they will get killed, otherwise India takes pride of it's multicultural society & India will protect culture of Nagaland at any cost, but never ask for a separate country !
I wish Northeast India to be independent, form a separate country unitedly so that people all over the world would recognise us. People from other countries around the world think India as just One culture and tradition, one identidy, language, religion, etc which upsets me.
Thanks Nora and friends for visiting Nagaland. Do visit again. And for some comments down there, no we do not hate India nor Indians from any part of the country. We naga's only wish to be free from invasions is all.
I am from Arunachal Pradesh and have many nega friends so I'm happy you visited Nagaland. Do visit Arunachal Pradesh too Nora 😊. And as of other Indians please don't relate relegion with Nationalism. Everyone has their right to preach their own religion. 😀
Petesetuo Kiewhuo 😂😂same here, I'm tired of bashing and giving a piece of my mind in all the nauseating shits they say about Nagaland in the comments section.
Tired and dusty yet riding on for adventure,Romance it is ,thousand times better than the twilight. When will the dust of my Nagaland turn into skyscrapers ...I wanna do some jumping too :(.All the best Nora.
That comment "Nagas don't call them Indians" is totally uncalled for. Suggestion, you comment might haunt you in India. Be careful while roaming around. Not a threat but a suggestion for your safety.
Thank....Q...Nora mum......4 exploring...our land..we always wel come.tourist guys...yeah.u.got correct we Naga..people are not Indian ..they...use to threatening us even civilian also.....
Why u r becoming a typical Indian or more than Indian when we r Nagas not Indian... If we r Indian our Nagas citizen will not be giving there live for Naga Nation.... Don defame the blood and the life our Naga people has sacrificed for
Nora.....Refrain from unwanted comments. Half knowledge is dangerous thing. Our all states are diversified and every one is different from one another. There are difference veins, but heart is same.
So the name of Naga people has nothing at all to do with the Buddhist serpent gods en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C4%81ga it was all a misunderstanding by British explorers of how to pronounce "Naka." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagaland#History
@@ashishkalkal1079 my nationality is Naga. I was forced to be Indian with a gun point by the Indian army. 5 lakhs Indian soldiers invaded Nagaland, destroyed two thousand villages, massacred more than 4 lakh Naga civilians, rape more than 1 lakh women, children, old women etc. You are irrational so you won't know
Love this Vedio. I am from Assam.I was surprised to see the Pastor of English Fellowship of Kohima. So, you stayed at Pastor's house. Right? When I went in Kohima I used to go to his Church and I met there lots of peoples from foreign countries. How many days did you stay in Nagaland?
I've watched 203rd vlog and it's astonishing how many comments have nothing to do with what she actually say or do in a particular video. There is always someone interpreting it in the worst possible way, and making it about them. This video has lots of comments which have nothing to do with the actual content of the video but only with some sick interpretation of what she said. Another great video! :) Peace
wonder woman Dont ever comment to any other religion, in every religion there are good people and bad people just take the example of asaram, the so called sadhu or zakir nayik the so called Islam preacher are doing preaching about their religion in a wrong way but no one has right to say that Hinduism, Islam or any other religion is bad because of those people.
As an Indian and Naga,I'd say that Nagaland is a peaceful and Christian state,I cut through ur videos but reading the comment I figured u say something 😕😕😕so plzz stay at least stay 5 or 6 years in Nagaland then u will understand and not a week visit 😪
Lots of fake accounts claiming to be Nagas and saying they are proud to be Indian. Anyone who knows the ground reality knows that this is false. Those Nagas who say they are Indian are just a few minority, mostly youngsters who don't know their own history and rights.
I didn't see anyone fighting to be independent in your video. Just to get more attention and views so you could make more money, you just lied. How do you sleep at night.
Did not realize how politically motivated you are Nora. I had thought this was a good channel for those who are into biking around the world. Don't talk about things you have absolutely NO CLUE about.
How lucky you guys! I belong to northeastern part of India but never been to many places except my home town. But have traveled to many parts of the world. how I wish to do a road trip exactly like you guys are doing. All the best and have a safe trip.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT AT 2:12!! I'm not against people eating anything they want, we are omnivore creatures after all, but AT LEAST don't make them suffer for god's sake! Even a wild animal kills its prey first AND THEN EATS IT. That right there is sick af
we r vry proud of our north east people. they r indians and will remain indians. to talk about u ur welcome to visit but ur not welcome to exploit as zypsies do in europe and spoil the atmosphere u people just go to places to make fun of the country
We Nagas are under foreign military aggressions and trying to erase our unique Identity from the Globe but even if the sun no longer shine we can never be Indian.
Gora ney pura North East ko CHUD Diya.... Sabko Christian banaya... culture change kya.... Don't worry about Pakistan. Tumhara KAMASUTRA erotica GANDMEY tum khujlao. Nagaland jindabad. Go to China which is ethnically closer to you.
That's really screwed up, selling animals hung like that while it's still alive for that matter, I know Northeastern folks eat all sorts of meat but that's no way to let an animal suffer like that..at least put it out of its misery dammit.
during most of the video, I felt it was waste of time watching - very less information for such a long duration ! Could have been better. Sure Nagaland is a lovely place and a heaven on Earth !!
