Really hope you enjoy this wee film & you'll excuse me getting a little reflective -
When I was young, it was stuff that I thought made me rich - now it's knowing where the local badger sett is, seeing where the roe deer slept last night and the perch the kingfishers love to fish from on my local river - all these things help me accept myself and inform me why I'm here. To be able to get out of the house, and see all these beautiful things, fills me with gratitude and an enormous sense of wellbeing - even in the pouring rain!
I hope I can keep filming until the day I die, to be able to embrace the warmth & security I get from being alone in nature, feeling safe & protected - aways in awe of the things I discover and the incredible beauty around me. Sometimes, as crazy as it sounds, I feel nature has become my greatest friend - I love that it's never judgemental or unkind - it might be powerful and sometimes even destructive, but there's always a reason, and always order - and that's a beautiful & healing thing you can always depend on through the outrageous fortunes of life.
You can seek validation in the approval of others and base your self worth on the numbers, but anything made with care & love that comes from the heart, far beyond ego, is already success - have the courage to chart your own path and be yourself always - that's success in the purest form and you'll feel it inside. Be brave - that's where fulfilment lies and I've still a long way to go :-)
I'm just one man making silly little films about the things he loves, but it makes me happy - and most of all, as the years have passed, I'm glad to have learn't one very important piece of knowledge - that I already have enough. The young man I was once doesn't need all that stuff to impress or be happy. Just good health, a pair of shoes and a willingness to explore makes me a really lucky man. Even if no-one watches, there was meaning & joy in the making of this wee film.
Whatever you're going through, I made this film in the rain for you. No matter how dark the skies, or heavy the rain, please keep going. Never stop looking for the light. You're not alone.
Thanks for watching & listening to my silly ramblings :-)
Best wishes,
David

Hi Mike, hope you're well and thanks for watching. It's a real blessing having all this on my doorstep. When we moved here about 15 years ago, I don't think I realised just how important all the lovely countryside and amazing wildlife would become in the years ahead. I really am lucky. Take care and have a lovely week. All the best, David :-)

Beautiful David, even wet days can be lovely as long as there is no wind. Love the pond with the swans and Liburnum tree! Great place for being alone with your thoughts.

Thanks as always for watching Maxine. It's a wonderful wee loch, close to my home, and a great place to escape to for a few hours of peace & quiet. I had pretty wet feet by the time I got back, but it was definitely worth it. I did also see a Heron, but I wasn't quick enough to film it, but hopefully next time. Hope to be back with another video soon. Hope you have a lovely week, David :-)

Absolutely beautiful! So peaceful & tranquil! Such captivating scenery, filled with lush green foliage, pretty flowering bushes, elegant Swans & other intriguing wildlife! Also captivating, is the soothing sound & scenes of the falling rain on the water, with closeups of tiny raindrops on the leaves. This makes it all even more magical! Finally, the accompanying 'Celtic' sounding music you chose here is very soothing, as well as, hauntingly beautiful! Thank you for sharing another delightful experience David! Blessings to you!

Thanks so much Annie - you're always so kind :-) I loved making this one. It's so much harder filming in the rain to keep everything dry, but it was a lovely afternoon and very serene. I always wish I could take longer to film these, but maybe one day. Hope you have a lovely week and thanks, as always, for all your kindness and support. Warmest best wishes & thanks, David :-)

Absolutely beautiful image at 25 seconds. The raindrop seemed to act as a lens on the blade of grass. Nature is the healer for sure. I once went walking in a storm and the energy was such that I totally forgot all my troubles and went home drenched but grinning. Thanks for posting.

Wonderful video David realy beautiful I loved the raindrops on the buttercups, the reflection of the rhodedendrons in the loch and flag iris I love all the close ups of flowers and very nice music. I was, so lucky to have a badger set at my previous house in the garden, they'd, come, with they're cub to the kitchen window when I rattled they're pot. I couldnt leave the kitchen window open or the woodpecker would come in the kitchen I'd to hide the biscuit barrel as both the woodpecker and Jessie the squirrel realised that's, where the nuts, were kept

Hi Anne, hope you're well. Wow, your previous garden sounds incredible - a real haven for wildlife. To have nature so close to you must have been wonderful. We have a Badger sett quite close by and I have seen cubs emerging as the light fades, which is amazing. I feel like I know every inch of the countryside around my home now which is funny, because when we moved here I never really explored. I hope to venture afield soon to explore other parts of the country and try to mix things up a bit. Thanks again for all you kindness & support - I really appreciate it :-) Best wishes, David
