Loftus Hot Springs near Atlanta Idaho in the Boise National Forest. This natural hot springs is located right off North Middle Fork road along side the Boise river. A popular spot during the summer, this hot spring is truly magical in the Idaho winter season. Jon journeys out into the Idaho wild alone, on the hunt for Loftus Hot Springs, after a viewer recommended it. He’ll show you where to camp, how to find it, what to expect and more on this episode of The Adventures of Jon & Chad!

Today marked the first time I have ever gone into a hot spring. Coworkers took me. Didn't even know the name...but using google maps, found the name, which was this one, and then this video. Nice spring, and very nice video. Wish it had been snowing, would have been even better.

Generally hot springs mean there was volcanic activity at one point colorado has lots of hot springs as well not to mention the entire cascade mountain range is in the Pacific rim or ring of fire. There is also an Atlanta Michigan as well and obviously Atlanta Georgia.

Holy smokes. What a great video. Loving that music. What a mystical experience. Going to attempt this adventure later this week. Might have to chain up this time of year?

Bearpaw Timber Possibly! But they keep that road well maintained, 4 wheel drive and snow tires would probably be enough this winter.

Ohh I will need to check out that book! Your footage is phenomenal! We rented snowmobiles and went up to Burgdorf- not as hardcore as you camping out in the winter. Check out my video if you get a chance- it’s pretty fun riding out there!

Relaxed in the hot spring for a couple hours very enjoyable, however, the spring mites are horrible! High RSM activity level. Loved the hot waterfall.

Holy cow! Once upon a time that was my favorite place to go...been twenty years now. I spent many hours sitting in those hot springs with a cold beer and a cigar. A lot of good memories and laughter with friends. Winter is best for hot-springing IMO. The road to Loftus is fine for 2-wheel drive in winter, if you’re careful and have chains you can put on just in case, of course check the weather report before you head up. Haha thanks for posting this. Brought back a lot of memories.

Blue Stag Thank you for sharing! Good info on the winter driving conditions. It seemed like they took good care of the roads.

I used to go here in the winter too, been about 35 yrs for me. Rarely any one else there. With Boise population 3X now and internet promotion that's probably changed. There used to be a small pine tree right at the edge of the pool. It looks like it's more dug out now too.

Bren Dykes You should! I cant count how many times I’ve used it to find things too. We’ve used it to scout rivers on raft trips, obviously I used it to find this hot spring. It’s super useful and of course gets cool footage 🎞

I see you don't need a 4x4 to get there. How were the roads? We were considering going but were told you need a 4x4 and that there's mites in that hot spring. Is that true?
@JonConti
@JonConti 4 года назад
Rosie's Family Travel and Adventure Channel So the roads were fine when I went, but that was before the first big snowfall. Since then, we’ve had a few big dumps and I would expect the roads to be much worse. I would recommend a 4x4. As for the mites, I sat in that hot spring butt ass naked for over an hour, no mites on me.

@@JonConti if you go to Vulcan Hot Springs in Cascade, the mites there would eat you alive like they did us. You don't feel it much until a few hours later and the next day is worst. We have 3 videos from there. The hike is beautiful though. Soaking is no good, but cooking your breakfast there is. It was only accessible to us in the summer though. We tried going in May last year but the snow was still high so we went back in July.
