Cholula all the way for me. Used to be a Tabasco guy, tried Cholula once and now it goes on everything.

The most versatile here is easily Cholula’s then El Yukateco but if I could ever have two I would pick Crystal and then Sriracha. They fill a niche for me. My favorite super versatile hot sauce is either Melinda’s Red Savina or Marie Sharp’s Hot Habanero
@AGuThing

El Yucateco and Sriracha were my picks. Cholula was decent but wish it was a bit spicier. Melinda’s and Marie Sharps are always in my rotation as well!

@@AGuThing I never thought Sriracha was super versatile but on things that it works with, it's great! I tried it with sushi the other day and that's killer and it's also great with chicken or turkey sandwiches. Cholula's original is like my backup for when I'm out of Melinda's or Marie Sharps. The green is also real good too.

Stay tuned! A lot of these were less spicy than the Tabasco if you’re looking for one that’s more comfortable. Every once in a while I like to go nuts and have a meal that’s like an 8 or 9 but for daily eating, I like to be at a 6 or 7.

@@Denver10215 got that bottle of Crystal hot sauce delivered earlier today. Its delicious. Thanks again for the recommendation. Its like a middle ground between Texas Pete and Tabasco. Not as much vinegar flavor as Tabasco, but similar heat, really similar flavor to Texas Pete but with more vinegar than that. Really great all around sauce. Going to have to keep some around for sure.

We are sooo different. Most versatile? El yucateco is almost a 1 for versatility in my book. I use it only when I really want to up the heat in something. I think it has zero flavor. I use Frank's buffalo sauce, Crystal and Dos Locals the most. Valentina is a close second. The taste of the sauce changes according to what you put it on. Everyone has a different palette.
@AGuThing
@AGuThing 3 месяца назад
😂 - yeah, at the end of the day, taste is mostly 0:01 subjective. The fact that it doesn’t have much flavor besides habanero is what makes it versatile for me. It doesn’t change the flavor of the food very much, just gives it a nice kick.
@gregrichards1601
@gregrichards1601 3 месяца назад
Gotcha! That's very kewl to me. We even think about the meaning of versatility differently. I can agree that it's very versatile now. I guess it's just too hot for me. I'm not quite there yet. Excellent video. Thanks for sharing!

Jen Lu Keep in mind my favorites so far may not end up being the winners. The reason I’m only scoring the food tasting portion is because I want to find the sauce the is the most versatile and not just the best tasting out of the bottle. That being said, so far, I like the Sambal Oelek and El Yucateco the best, they are the 2 with the most hot pepper flavor.

I'm honestly not sure what kind of flavor profile I prefer out of the three, I kinda like all of them, I think when it comes to just using these as dipping/sauces, the Louisiana style works best for me, but when it comes to cooking, the Asian style sauces are excellent, the Latin ones I feel are in between, they're better as a sauce than the Asian ones but worse than the Louisiana style ones and they're better than the Louisiana style in cooking, but worse than the Asian ones.

Cmplete idiot chooses a hot sauce: My friend Mike recommend Valentina. Ok well Valentinas has 5 ingredients & preservative thpeppers dont say aged. (Preservative maybe not healthy.) 1st ingredient is water. It only has 3% salt 😒daily &only lists "spices"🤔 but doesnt specify. ??? Spices listed last so is not much spices. Franks Xtra hot has 17% sodium 🙂 I like salty hot sauce vinegar listed first (more tangy, 😙& longer shelf life🥰) I prefer the aged😛 Cayenne in Franks vs chili peppers Valentina. I think Cayenne is healthier pepper?🙄 Franks has a (lot pf) Paprika listed 6th &paprika adds flavor &health benefits. But it also has garlic which i like. They added some oil 2carry thflavor & "natural butter flavor" also. (?) Valentinas is 900 scoville so I have 2use twice as much. ...&it has next to no salt. Franks extra hot aged cayenne has 2,000 scoville more then twice the heat of Valentina so u wind up using less lasts longer. The 17% salt is a better preseevative as is thfermented cayenne which adds complex deeper flavor &health benefits. Only thing i will add is a little citric acid &lime oil imcrease storage even more & I am guessing big improvement on flavor. I found Franks extra hot gallon $19.99. Franks xtra hot wins hands down. Franks uses canola oil. A military lubricant originally, &processed salt is toxic 2 thbody. Typically this is done when 1higher up sees 6figure dollar signs by simply clicking on Canola oil with his mouse vs cold press oil &healthy mineral rich sea salt. What a p.o.s. these people are. These poisons are pretty low dose so for $40 a gallon living on 3k a year I choosing thFranks xtra hot. I think u will like it northerner. "Thank me later winterizer."

There is no best it depends on what food you put it on
@AGuThing
@AGuThing 3 года назад
I'd argue that there is a best, but that it is subjective and would differ from person to person. Our goal is to find what in our opinion is the most versatile hot sauce. So whichever one ends up being the overall winner may not be the "best" for each food we try, but will be in our opinion the one the pairs well with the most number of different types of foods.
