I made the video in this style as me sitting in the seat / pointing at it just looked odd :) Once I have more experience with the seat I will do a long term review video, thanks for watching!
Thanks for this. How do the fixing points work out from differing manufactures? Is there a standard fixing pattern or is it chair specific in terms of fitting it to your rig/seat rails?
Hey, just wanna say great video. I too have just ordered a Grid Q and I’m also wondering how much of an upgrade (if any) it would be over an RS9. Sounds promising you felt it was a great upgrade. I also have the VRS pedals too but have been continually adjusting the brake pedal. What settings did you have before and after? I’m currently on- Red spring Preload - 24mm Tie bar - 42mm Max brake - 62% Min brake force - 10% Thanks Good luck with the channel
@danut05 no lumbar support in the grid q, I dont think any bucket seats have it. I have added the sparco lumbar cushion, and also have a folded towel (hard to describe but works great). The main reason for changing seat was because of low back issues, and its definitely better in the grid Q for me. I will have to do a follow up review video for the seat, and show my lumbar situation!
How much does width impact your driving? The Sparco Evo in M is slightly larger than my actual waist size which is what I’m looking for but I’m not certain how different the L and XL versions will feel
@NandoLorris4 I would say it feels nicer the tighter it is, but it would feel significantly worse if it was too tight vs too wide. I also have the sparco lumber cushion which you can velcro on and it makes it hug a bit more. Make sure you check shoulder width rather than waist width, that would be the worst case if your shoulders are crushed in!
I’m like you going back and forth I’m 182 cm 100 kg and have a pretty bad lower back issue I have trak racer rally seat very uncomfortable any recommendations??
@jeffdobell4821 sorry but you are quite a different size to me so I couldn't say! Perhaps start with the sparco lumbar cushion which attaches with velcro, they also do side bolsters aswell might be able to give you a little bit of releif on your lower back?
Thank you, that was very informative. I'm glad you found the right seat for you,...but I'm weak minded and now I want the OMP :D. Its unfortunately over 600 Euros here where I could get a hold of it. I will just save up a bit longer. Mine works for now. has no flex and is actually comfortable,..It's just pretty worn, torn and not very presentable since it was already used when I got it. I had basically no choice back then when I bought it. My old one caused me physical pain and I was very tight on finances. Was thinking about re-upholstering, but that would be even more expensive than a new seat. Hows your back with the new seat btw?
Thanks for commenting @mementomori4972 honestly the only reason I didnt go for the OMP was because I was worried the extra padding could be a negative, wish I could try them at home for an extended period! My back has been better with this seat as you dont get pushed "into" the seat, but the reason I did this video rather than a review is I have just not had enough time in it yet to make a good opinion. If your seat is worn and torn ill also have to keep an eye on how this one holds up!
@@MichaelSmithRaces Understand your concern but how much thicker are we speaking? Looking at picking up the Evo, but you peaked my interest in the OMP.
@itsmrmilo thanks for asking I have a couple of pedal videos that I need to make, I'm mainly using VRS now, but i'll prioritise getting a pedal video out soonish :)
I have been looking for a few weeks, and I do sadly not have an option to just go try some seats, im aabout 173cm small and a little on the chunky side but also getting more and more fit/lean, does anyone have any recommendations?
@SDRaygon I would strongly encourage you to take some measurements of your hip width & shoulder width and email a company that supplies them to ask which would be the best fit. On the Sparco website they also have the measurements for the chairs dimensions, good luck!
I am about to get my first cockpit for sim racing and I am still trying to figure out what seat I want, btw I cant go to a store to try out seats. Would you be able to give me a recommendation for a bucket seat with great comfort (for someone who is quite skinny) and no flex, preferably with some depth as well. Thanks
@alexllama1 try to email a seat distributer they will be a lot more knowledgable than me, of the seats I found the best, the OMP WRC-R would be best meet your description I think! Still kinda wish I had got that one :)
