Very Nice!! I love the way you feature the gear in your vids. Especially love how you have featured the ribbon mics in your recent vids. It's great hearing them under the microscope like that. Really cool how much you were able to shape the sound with the eq and compressor. Those things are rad! I must get some soon. Great premise; aggressive tone shaping.

+Pauly Stax Yeah, ribbons are famous for being able to be sculpted and take EQ. I had my chance, I figured I see what that 44 was made of.

I recently purchased 2 each of these fine toys. I'm tracking drums and I currently have the comp before the EQ. I'm gonna switch things around and give it a shot. Thnx.

+Malcolm Palm Yeah, usually the Compression is before the EQ but not for this purpose. Maybe in a year I will have come up with a better way or different reasoning.

Awesome video! Have you ever thought about doing some sort of keyboard/piano/organ video?

I have a friend who would probably pay you for permission to use the audio - direct from youtube - of the drum track with you fiddling with the controls. He'd sample and loop it with other random sounds, he does electronic music.

I have the tb12,Eq and a76. What settings do you recommend for R&B vocals? I use a mojave ma 1000 for a vocal mic

+Saint Clarity aka Casanova Brown I really don't know without hearing the sounds and then reacting to what I'm hearing in real time. I would think that I would start by putting the TB12 with the 918 op amp, clean caps, and nickle transformer. Then I would pry compress at 20:1 with a release of about 3 oclock and 5 dB of reduction. Just a complete guess here. For EQ, maybe thin the lows if needed, or add some air up top.
