Watch how I created an award-winning fine-art portrait of a ballerina in teal. I’ll show you how I styled, photographed and edited a ballet photoshoot of 11 year old Carlin. I entered one of the final portraits in The Portrait Masters international competition and accreditation program and earned a Silver Award. Out of over 11,000 entries, roughly 400 portraits earned silver. I’m honored to be featured among such incredible photographers. Especially considering I did this photoshoot in my living room using speedlites.

I made her flowy throw skirt and blouse from sheer and silk curtains I purchased from Goodwill (thrift store).
Ballerinas are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. I took many years of ballet lessons in my youth and can appreciate the athleticism and discipline it requires.
