In this video we talk about an interesting bow made by a company called Arcus. They are hollow carbon fibre bows that are great for people with wrist problems that make pronation hard, and also just for getting a rich sound easily.

If you’ve ever heard cello, it’s likely you’ve already fallen in love. I know so many people who tell me it’s their favorite instrument. And you might have gotten to the point of asking: can I just learn how to play this marvelous instrument?
As someone who’s gone all the way through the journey of taking lessons, practicing many hours, and eventually being able to make cello my living, I know as well as anyone how challenging this endeavor can be.
And if you’ve ever tried on your own, you may have run into roadblocks yourself. Well here on this channel, we’re hoping to demystify the whole process of cello piece by piece, and hopefully get you to where you want to get with it.
Our hope is that with these videos, you're going to be able to overcome the obstacles facing beginner cellists. We want you to be able to get into this as economically as possible, and as on your own as possible - at least to start.
Thanks for watching! Stay subscribed for more cello lessons.

Since the closest cello store is a plane ticket away I've been scoping out the M5 for that richer more mellow sound.

Hello Justin, I just discovered this video and wanted to thank you for pointing out one of the key features of our bows - playing more naturally. It is also true for violin, viola and bass, all of which can be played favourably with less pronation and less tilting of the bow too, resulting in a sound that is both loud and clear. Have you got one as a backup bow? You might end up playing it most or all of the time, like so many pro players before did. :) By the way, the letter "M" stands for our warmest/darkest sounding cello bows, the "T" would be the golden middle, working great for a vast majority of instruments and the "S" for a more brilliant tone, excellent for playing big instruments with a very dark sound. The number "6" is the middle of the range quality, silver mounted and should be on par with best and most expensive pernambuco bows in terms of sound. It's costs about 2,500$.

Do you have a link to the maker of your cello? Can't seem to find any Marco Castaldo.
