At this point I don’t even bother watching Netflix reality tv shows anymore. I just wait until Kennie watches and reviews them for us so thank you for your service queen.
Same. I had to skip last week's vid because I haven't watched Sex And The City yet 😢 but now she's coming with Netflix Reality Show tea and dragging 😃 I just know she's going to come in with great advice and hilarious commentary with iconic lines
The way my jaw dropped when Sam said "no one has ever loved me. I just need someone to love me." Like, girl run, every decision you would've made with this man would leave you feeling guilty like you wouldn't believe 💀
That sentence can be a red flag on its own, but "I just need someone to love me" _immediately_ following "I love you"? Run. You're not fixing him, he's actively repelling the screwdriver, _no._
Fine that’s a red flag I just don’t like that stuff was made up about him which altered Nicole’s decision. I can’t wait for Sam to see the footage and put them paws on the hippie guy
Freddie being a buff funeral director has the same energy as Kennie ranting about Mr. Daddy Teacher and talking about "why is he so buff? He's a teacher!!" 😂
as someone who works in the funeral business, I can confirm that being buff is definitely a plus in this field of work. My noodle arms are fighting for their life anytime I need to assist carrying a grown adult's body in a solid wooden casket. I don't know what is struggling more, my non-existing dating life or my poor geriatric spine
As someone who used to work for the funeral business, I was looking for this comment lol There’s also a lot of mental stress of working long hours, working holidays, and first responders work with trying to save lives which is more socially acceptable than someone working around death 24/7. My family hated that I worked around death and were relieved when I left
@@adebisiakinyemi7833apples and oranges - trust me was a nervous tick and Clay stating his dad cheating was him tryna explain subliminally why he’s not going to be a good partner. Do you see?
Fine that’s a red flag I just don’t like that stuff was made up about him which altered Nicole’s decision. I can’t wait for Sam to see the footage and put them paws on the hippie
in Love is Blind Sweden there is a guy who finds out a random girl he hooked up with in Spain is pregnant with his child, while he is engaged to another contestant 😂
The thing that gets me about their grandparents having the same name (besides the potential for being related) is that Mary and Bill are just really common names. The chances of two English people having grandparents with those names are probably high. That’s not a sign, it’s an amusing coincidence at best.
The reaction was very Batman v Superman "Martha" scene. Although I was already thinking Catherine and Freddie looked really similar, like they could be cousins. Then her being adopted plus the grandparents names thing I was like "are we getting our first case of LIB incest?" 😂
My theory is that our society just doesn't accept death. We glorify professions that try to prevent death (like the firefighters, medical professional, etc.). But a funeral director has accepted that death happens in spite of our best efforts, and actually has the strength to face the damage that happens in its wake, day after day. That's a tough pill to swallow for a society that can't face it head on.
having known a funeral director, I think a big part is also that everything that happens with work is to do with death, funerals, people losing loved ones etc, and this can really remind a partner about all that stuff. As a Doctor/Nurse generally you'll see it, but you'll also see people get better, which means conversations after work aren't just about death and funerals.
Depending on the techniques they use, I would be concerned about a chemical smell 😅 I'd also need some kind of reassurance that they're in a good place mentally, because being around that much death and sadness can definitely do some things to a person. But I also watch more than one youtuber who works in the funeral business, so it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.
As a person with endometriosis i understand her, it literally plagues my life. Every event, every vacation, dentist/doctors appointments, going to trade school or college, gettinga job...i have to plan my life around it, so one of my concerns when getting a partner is can they handle seeing me in that much pain or will it be a heavy burden
This is how i feel about my disabilities. Heavy on the planning ur life around it. And mfers that don’t understand are just like ‘ur being pessimistic just get ur life together’ like I would if it was that easy
@keyahkeyshawn yeah or they dont believe the amount of pain your in so they try to compare their pain to yours, to make you feel better...but its like no we arent even on the same level here...try not being able to eat food for 3 days on your period cause the extra pain aint worth it, i bet you wont be saying "just push through it"
Having lived with someone whose endo was so terrible she got fasttracked for surgery, even having a textbook idea of what it was left me unprepared for what y’all suffer through. Even besides the physical pain, the emotional toll has a huge impact on relationships and men are socialized to be obliviously shitty about it, so it’s 100% fair for this contestant to want to protect herself. It’s so brutal
I also have endometriosis (and adenomyosis because my body decided that having just endo wasn't bad enough). While I don't want kids, I completely understand everything she was talking about and what you've mentioned. Having endometriosis is horrible and there's still so much misinformation that doctors who are supposed to know about things like this keep spewing at those of us who have it. For me, the worst one I've seen is "Oh just get pregnant, that'll cure your endometriosis". If that was the case then my mom wouldn't have needed to get a hysterectomy and her mom wouldn't have needed to get one either. It's 2024, can the medical community please start at least trying to understand endometriosis.
@wise_girl9388 exactly, some girls get endometriosis as young as 13, why would getting pregnant be the solution you suggest, plus your making pregnancy seem easy and forget that i also have to raise a child 😑...it sucks like if your not gonna help, at least run me a check or something like free healthcare
"Catherine; works out a lot and ugly cries." "A very small head on a very large body. Looks like a transformer. Cool guy." "Tom; he seems goofy and regular and white." "He seems pleasantly regular." These descriptions are gold 😂
girl, if you want messy???? check out the first season of the ultimatum france. i remember watching it with my mouth wide open at the sheer audacity of some of the men in the show omg
@@sosoatypical9836 really? I always see content about French dating being more """evolved""" and French men being very serious about their relationships(e.g if you kiss , you're dating and exclusive automatically. Having to say it is "childish") ....now I'm curious about the mess 🙄🙄
Kennie HOW am I supposed to clean my kitchen to this when you're literally glowing????? Am I meant to look away???????? The hair and make-up are STUNNING.
I know the Love is Blind Japan isn't messy, but it's soooo worth watching for the couples that end up married. They are STILL married, with kids, having beautiful cute lives on instagram. One couple is SO wholesome, SO amazing, the whole season is worth watching JUST to see their love story.
I'm still so confused by the guy who said he liked a blunt oddball girl and then cried tears of blood she she asked him politely to clean up his hair from the bathroom sink
@@moustik31 he had so many obvious red flags, too. It felt weird watching Nicole fall for him because he honestly said so many gross things that would have me running. From the "women don't like the nice guys" , to "no one's ever loved me". I am convinced they left out quite a lot of the nicer scenes where his mask is more convincing and he's actually charming. Cuz baby. What we got to see was just. _Ick_ .
@@no.6377 I'm not surprised, it probably triggered a "caring" response from her. She was probably socialised to believe, it's her job to "soothe" these (weaponised) insecurities! What an *sshole! 🙃
Girl I thought they were talking about y'all chocolate men or at least Greek and Italians. Color me disappointed when I found out it was just about hair, as if somehow the most common hair color on the planet is exotic.
Not sure why Kennie isn't on Netflix payroll because even though I've watched Love is Blind UK,I need the commentary to make sure that I'm not the only one that goes slightly insane and frustrated at the new crop of singles who want to get married,"sight unseen"
It makes a lot of sense that the dudes are hegemonic but the women are diverse. The main audience are women, so they have a lot of different women to be relatable. But they still choose hot men to lure people into the show
@@m.a.2658 The show is selling the idea that (mostly white) tall, ripped, well-groomed men are the standard of attractiveness. It has nothing to do with real diversity; that's just a smoke show so they can say "but we ARE diverse, look!" It's still ultimately that "you" (the audience of assumed heterosexual cis women watching Love is Blind UK on Netflix) should want a Ken doll.
So true. and that's also why Kennie doesn't have a lot to say about them, cause the men are all the same and they don't have a real personality, they're plain and unoriginal.
I IMPLORE everyone to turn on the Audio Description when watching it! The narrator is shady as hell and it gave me life! The line “a small metaphorical elephant appears in the room” will live rent free in my head forever.
i’m so glad you talked about how nicole told sam she really loves him and all he says is “no one has ever loved me! i need someone to love me so badly” and doesn’t say it back even when he is proposing. what broke my heart was after she says yes he says “i think i love you” and her face falling and she knew she fucked up. god that was painful. him never saying i love you to her after she confessed she loved him was so sad. even when they are meeting for the first time he ends it with saying “i think i love you” like that was the mic drop line of the century just broke my heart for her. she didn’t deserve that
i think the thing with the funeral director is really like doctors and firefighters etc are doing the heroic thing of saving lives, right? so even tho they’re sometimes around dead people the job itself is not actually about being around dead people. but when people hear funeral director they’re like 🧍♀️only a freak would want to work with dead bodies 😂😂 like it’s dumb, but that’s the logic there
Directors also arent mortitians which i think ppl get confused, directors are doing a lot of the emotional side/dealing with the families. Usually not involved with the dead so directly
My dream was to be a mortician-not a director, I didn’t want to deal with the family, I only wanted to embalm and prepare the bodies-until I learned what the salary was. I still wonder what my life would’ve been like had I pursued my passion instead of money.
The thing that REALLY threw me off about Sam is that he didn’t kiss Nicole when they met each other. I was squirming from how cringe and weird that was.
This is what stood out for me soo much about him, apart from his plastic surgery... Like they never kissed! It was so weird and strange. Makes sense about the whole wanting to be physical by Nicole. Maybe she was feeling he didn't like her physically and so wanted him to be intimate with her...Maybe she wanted that assurance.
Fine that’s a red flag I just don’t like that stuff was made up about him which altered Nicole’s decision. I can’t wait for Sam to see the footage and put them paws on the hippie guy
@@valentinek.t3327 yeah from what I saw Sam was kind of an f-boy. Did you see how he reacted to Jasmine deciding to get with Bobby? "Beggars can't be choosers" is not the response of someone who was actually catching feelings. (Spoiler) I think that Benaiad was not in the right for confronting Sam at that bar but why else would Sam bring up that Nicole tried to sleep with him that night and that he rejected her other than to hurt Benaiad's feelings? Idk Sam doesn't seem like a good dude at all.
Sam is such a walking stereotype for love starved and entitled that it'd be kind of funny if he wasn't so shameless and infuriating. The only redeemable part about him is that he's so unaware of how he comes off, he will outright just say "I need someone to love me" as his main reason for pursuing someone, rather than anything specific about them. Nicole is someone who comes off as still not fully healed from being divorced and so puts a premium on someone saying they're in it for the long haul even if it is lovebombing and disingenuous AND she's got multiple people warning her against trusting it. Benaiah I'm more sympathetic to. He said he hadn't been in a relationship for 12 yrs prior to the show so to me, he reads as someone who is cautious with his feelings. Good news is that means when he's in it, he's IN IT, but bad news is it takes a while for him to get there, which to someone like Nicole is going to come off as non-committal rather than careful.
I just don’t like that stuff was made up about him which altered Nicole’s decision. The rest is speculation. I can’t wait for Sam to see the footage and put them paws on the hippie guy. Crazy Sam doesn’t know what’s been said about him behind his back
@@valentinek.t3327i haven’t watched the show myself, but what did ben make up about him? from what i’ve gathered about the season, he was informing nicole that sam was super hung up about the idea of her being a little heavy and it feels very valid for ben to think that’s an incredibly shallow hang up to have when coming on a show that’s meant to ignore physical biases.
@@angiebangie6372 This person is spamming the same comment about "Sam putting paws on Benaiah", so don't give them your time of a day. I don't know why they are doing it, but definitely for a conversation purpose
It is i moved abroad and one of my coworkers was also new and first thing he wanted to find was a gym not even an apartment first just what’s the best gym and I’ll work around that 😅
27:33 I was like... 17 when I learned that tall dark and handsome was talking about hair. I spent most of my childhood confused reading books because I kept imagining Black men but the descriptions threw me off 🤣
I laughed so hard at the grandparent thing because my british grandparents are also named mary and bill - crazy to me that people would assume they’re possibly related seeing as they’re incredibly common names
26:43 I don't really like Katherine but I felt bad for her when Ollie judged her based on the clubs she frequents. I mean obviously he goes clubbing too to know the scene so well and has obvious exist double standards. I was turned off by him in that instant
I think I understood it as he realized they are from two different worlds. He already wasn’t connecting with her other than with sexual attraction at that point. That just solidified it for him because he realized they don’t have much in common. I don’t think it was like “You go to trash clubs and even though I like you I’m basing my entire decision on what club you go to.” You know?
I had forgotten how it bothered me when Ollie had said that to her but now after completing the season... thinking of how it was 1 of the major reasons why Kat and Freddie didn't work out. She didn't want to across as being into that lifestyle but apparently she was. Now I'm wondering what kinda clubs these are where 2 of these guys were so put off by the idea of them
I live alone. Like, alone alone. No pets, nothing. Just me and a house plant. But every time Nicole was on screen, I felt it necessary to declare to my empty apartment that she is GORGEOUS. Like from all angles, but her side profile? Stunning. The women this season really were top tier beautiful. And so was Freddie.
There are only like a half dozen people working at a time in the funeral homes I shopped, and EVERYTHING- not just caskets- is oak this, marble that, and he's not an 80 year old man who needs to call a groundskeeper to grab an urn or something. If he only handles a few samples a day, there's still no shortage of lifting.
So the deal with Ollie is that although it may have just been editing, he practically avoided Demi the whole time. He didn’t go over to her in any of the scenes (not that I can remember) they’re not getting each other drinks, they’re not really having their own cute conversations, they’re not really hanging out together with the others either. When something of note happens (talking to Cat) he goes to see Bobby first and then Demi had to go up to him to get any sort of catch up or reassurance. He is just not giving the right vibes, almost like he’s not really into her, not just the a dislike of pda. They just got engaged and we don’t even see him glancing over at her!
The biggest issue i had with sams proposal was him saying TRUST ME, TRUST ME, TRUST ME over and over and over to nicole. Nothing personal, nothing emotional. It felt like a little desperate boy, who needed to be picked so badly and having not even trusting or believing himself. The only thing he really actually needs is therapy. A long one.
Nah Ollie and what's her face were definitely flirting. Demi wasn't being insecure, that was a natural reaction to her man basically avoiding her the night he saw the other woman.
I mean idk if Freddie is also working back of house, but I can attest that "dead weight" is not just a turn of phrase. We do have some equipment (lifts, church trucks, wheeled embalming tables, etc.), but carrying a body or a casket without them is definitely not a one person job. I don't know a ton of buff funeral service workers, but it can't hurt (especially if you're doing removals).
Jasmine was 100% therapising him lol I work in mental health and kept cracking up while watching ep 1 bc she was talking to sam like how i talk to my clients 😭😭
Fun fact! Freddie is so ripped because funeral directors have to do the body removal so you literally have to pick up bodies of all different sizes every day. Was not surprised at all to see how fit he was
Sam gave me hugh grant fuckboy energy and I hated him immediately haha. I just finished the episodes that are out and thought to myself “I really hope kennie watched this because I NEED her breakdown.” Feeling so well-fed 😂
1) Steven & Fredday… are SO fine. Whewww this cast was gorgeous. Moroccan Melanie Fiona? Spot on. She is beautiful! 2) Catherine was crying entirely too much for me. Why did she cry… was it sentimental or family? Confusion 😭 3) Sam sucks
I think Ollie’s fuckboy energy runs so deep that even though he’s trying to change we’re all are on edge. It’s like that soapy residue left over after you wash your hands with bad soap. Your hands are clean but they don’t FEEL clean.
I feel like people associate life and death with those who work in the medical field while as a funeral director there is just death. It’s the after dying of it all that might unsettle folks.
@@andiman44 Blue and Green eyes have only been around for 10.000 years or so (Green is the youngest eye colour, it was probably a mutation of blue, which was already a mutation) but that is still a pretty long time genetically. Even afer just 400 years, (10 or so generations), it becomes really difficult to detact concrete ancestry in someone's genes - like, with every generation, the influence of a specific person on the decendents genes basically halves. So, even if we would find a 10.000 year old human mummy with blue or green eyes, it would be difficult to say whether they specifically are related to a blue-/green eyed person nowadays. Also, we are all probably MUCH closer related than some guy 10000 years ago.😅 Even 100-200 years ago, most people lived in small communitues, even cities were much smaller. Until relatively recently, marrying your cousins or other direct relatives was still considered normal - way into the 19th century in Western cultures. In many countries it still is considered romantic today. 😅
They don't want a fat person on the show cause the show is actually about being superficial no matter how much they try to claim they're trying to prove love is blind. It's just not for a majority. The people who look at someone unattractive and still love them are rare, and it's not going to be on a show that purposefully uses people as eye candy.
I agree, and I kinda prefer it this way. I do not want to see bigger people going through the mental turmoil that reality tv has to offer. It’s like when my fellow black women go on reality dating shows. No matter how gorgeous they are, they still get mistreated in some type of way. In an ideal world I’d wish to see it, but are current is too cruel
I’m white and I have always found the way white people use tall, dark, and handsome confusing too lol. It took me way too long to realize it meant hair color
I love that the entire premise of LiB is just what us gamers have lived with for decades. First it was screen names, then avatars, now we have so many filters it’s anyone’s guess what someone looks like, but people edate all the time. It’s sort of like Catfish: Before the Reveal. Except as those of us who are chronically online, there’s no guarantee the person is conventionally attractive like LiB (they’re all pretty..) and lots of hidden relationships 😂
I feel like everyone looking like a gorgeous supermodel is not entertaining, why don't they throw in a bunch of normal looking people too, so we actually get the love is blind part. I wanna see a 10 talking to a 4 and not realize it until the reveal

15:02 his picture came up and my immediate thought was "NO!" I, too, *do not* like him. I think Jasmine's instincts about his shortcomings, and her spidey senses going up when he talked about how people perceive him as a bit of a fuckboy and how he's a nice guy nobody gives a chance, were *spot on*! I've only gotten as far as you have in the eps, but I definitely think he carries a lot of resentment for not being perceived as a great catch, a lovely guy, someone a woman would wanna take seriously & settle down with. Very incel-lite on its way to something more insidious if he doesn't pause and do some introspection.
I've been watching LiB MX to practice spanish so I've only gotten about 80% of what's going on but two highlights have been a lawyer lady who 1) tried causing drama and gaslit the lady she dragged into the drama so everyone would turn on her and 2) when she got rejected anyways she 180'd with her backup choice and tried gaslighting him into thinking she was into him the whole time, only for there to be 0 chemistry at the meetup, it was wild there's also a man who got WAY too handsy at the proposal and has been spending the rest of the time trying to pretend he's ok with abstinence
man you didn't even mention how fukken hilarious it was when Sam first first announced his engagement with Nicole to the other guys and they're all so awkward about it and then Beniah later announces his rejection and and all the guys absolutely flocks him to give comfort just the insane contrast and blatant "Nobody Likes Sam" of it all had me laughing out loud XD
Every time Sam said “I think I love you” to Nicole, I died a little inside. And the fact that he thought it strange she didn’t say I love you after he said that…total lack of self-awareness.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed it was off that Catherine said she was beginning the “bigger person.” I think it’s foreshadowing how she’ll carry herself in the later episodes 👀
