the reason why megumi could somewhat survive being thrown against buildings like that without shattering all his bones is because he strengthened his body with cursed energy, he just made himself more durable, a normal person would have been dead within the first strike of sukuna
Okay, some trivia. The weekly reviews for the series were extremely bad when this occurred in the manga. This usually means that the series will be axed in the next few chapters in order to provide more space for another manga. BUT after this chapter was released, it took first place on the weekly survey, and JJK only received positive reviews from then on, cementing itself as one of the frontrunners of the magazine.
Sunshine/smells like sun.... part was reacted to like that by Nobara and Maki with like blush was because "Ohi-sama" is like saying "Mister Sun" or "Our Lord Sun" but like a child (4-10 yo) would say it in a formal setting. Megumi speaks politely with honorifics and it's part of a manga trivia too but This what it sounded like.
Sukuna bullying Fushiguro is always so funny to me. Also there's 2 seasons and a movie. The movie JJK0 takes place before S1 but came out between S1 and S2
But the manga chapters the movie is inspired by were released years before the manga so it both takes place before season 1 and was released before the manga equivalent to season 1. It's not a prequel, JJK is literally just a sequel to JJK Zero. That being said, yeah it works pretty well as an interlude between season 1 & 2.
the dub for Dungeon Meshi is pretty good, it sticks to the information portrayed in the sub. I like the sub for it more, but that's just preference, unlike Jujutsu Kaisen where I have fundamental concerns about portrayed information faliures.
The ending thing for episode 5 is a japanese language joke. He said sun in a childish way so the 2 girls reacted to that. Most of the ending scenes hit pretty well, but some are pretty obscure for a normie audience
you mentioned the ending song sounding like it should be for a romcom anime. Itadori is also basically just a character from a romcom thats stuck in this world, i feel so bad for him.
to be clear, if you feel as though you couldn't read something fast enough, you can just go back and pause lol. this is the digital era, you're not confined to the pace of a TV scedule, afterall.
Yeah, and we as the viewers would be more fine with that 1000%, instead of being annoyed by you having hard time understanding stuff, cos. of dub's inconsistencies UPD. also, there are some moments in sub that are UNREACHABLE in any other translation. You will know when you will hear.
@@ElonDusk-fw1ln True. Also gives an interesting perspective on emotional shock/engagement balance in their response to the show. We are here for the reactions and review, not to rewatch faviorite shows (not entirely), lol. Besto friendo!
A word of advice. Some people will say dub, other people will say sub. If you want to keep your sanity as a reactor do the reaction the way YOU want to, because atleast 90% of the people watching have already seen the anime/movie/series. Most of your followers are here because they like watching you, not because of the content you release, so it doesen't really matter if it's a sub or dub release. You cannot and never be able to satisfy your followers a 100%, so don't put yourself through mental struggle. I have seen reactors getting thinned out, losing their spirit and a even a few quitting this sector of RU-vid. It's enough to have to decide between the both of you what and how to watch, you don't have to include the tens of thousands watching you in the decision making
@@ravagesound5133 you probably didn't even read the full thing.. What can I expect from a skull emoji user to understand things like this. I'll dumb it down. It doesn't matter if the thing is in sub or dub, because in anime it's not the voice that's going to keep the show moving. It's the action. Plus we (the people watching these videos) have already seen the show and know what happens. Not to mention the fact that if you're watching their videos, you chose THEM out of thousands of reactors. If the sub/dub matters THAT much then just go watch someone else who reacts. It's really goddamned simple.
I love that you guys are loving this show. You're one of my favorite reaction channels and this is one of my favorite anime ever so this is a win-win for me. Regarding the durability thing; the show doesn't explain it very well, but they're using cursed energy to protect themselves, kinda like ki in Dragon ball. Some of the juju strolls are a hit or miss, some are just jokes in japanese that non-japanese speakers won't get (me included), but I highly recommend you watch them all because most of them are really funny and they kind of add some depth/attachment to the characters by showing their daily lives. And don't worry, all your questions will be answered and the show will get a lot crazier and the stakes will be much higher later on, just keep watching lol.
Honestly that makes sense why all the reaction videos to this anime are in sub literally everyone caved in or just started in sub as to avoid any future backlash it’s kinda sad the community is so toxic
I am one of those background listeners as I often 'watch' while at work. That said, you guys need to watch the version that you want to. If I need to I can glance over to quick read the subs. Or I can just listen to the Japanese and try to translate it. :P
Nerdy comparing himself to a carpet is funny cos I don’t think many ppl walk all over him lol. I’m loving this journey, only seen s1 but I really loved it and am excited for you guys. My take on sub vs dub in general is it’s cool for rewatches to go for the alternate one. Obviously you have to be the type to rewatch stuff to benefit lol One of the things I find weird with some modern dubs tho is cos a lot do shows now do the sumul-dub thing as they air on crunchy roll like a few weeks behind Japan, it does feel like the work is more rushed than when they made the dub version months after when the season was fully aired in Japan.
JJK is great in the way that you think you have an idea of what’s going to happen, and then something happens that you don’t expect. Like Sukuna ripping out Yuji’s heart, I did not expect that when I first watched it. As far as sub and dub, I did watch originally in dub just to catch everything, but I do prefer the Japanese actors. Just to put it out there, as a viewer, it doesn’t bother me if you guys need to pause to catch some of the subtitles. I have to do that myself sometimes. But regardless what you guys choose, y’all are fun reactors so keep it up 😊
The show really does throw you in at the deep end, show cool things and explains it in further detail later. No spoilers but at the end of season 1 theres a movie you need to watch before season 2 called 'Year 0'. Its also notable to notice that Megumi was ragdolled throughout the city and barely has a scratch.. Bro is durable asf
You don't have to watch the end Juju Strolls, but quite a few of them are very funny imo. Also the black-haired kid's (Megumi) summons are not curses. They are called shikigami.
To be fair, the dub is great. Nothing really wrong with it... Until you get to the movie, but even then that's moreso the script writer's fault for failing to translate some things properly.
honestly watch dub or sub whatever your personal preference is, i have watched it all subbed and watched a bunch dubbed and honestly the sub is alot better, characters sound better and there are some translation issues too not to mention a character has the greatest line in sub which doesnt hit the same with the dub
The dub definitely changes a lot of characters core personalities, like Sukuna, Ijichi, Geto, and someone named Nanami. The sub is far better for those characters in particular
@@sharangsharu5079 I've only ever watched some of JJK in dub, but genuinely think Geto and Toji could've swapped VAs tbh, ones voice was deeper and another was higher than their Japanese counterparts lmao
I was definitely in the camp of having your videos in the background and preferring dub mainly for that reason. But your reasons for switching are sound ones. I still think the dub is fine having read the manga but people should always do what helps them enjoy the show the most. I do wonder if I’ll get three comments of vomiting emojis under this comment tho lmao
Well, view it as your prompt to actually watch them ;) You're missing out on many fun expressions and non-verbal parts of the reaction by only listening, after all~
From what i see in the previous video in the comment. People were just explaining why it is better to watch sub because it is easier to see the explanation
I do think aside from the first two episodes, which are so fast, it really doesn’t matter much. I vaguely prefer the sub because I like some voices more, but it doesn’t matter.
@@neoparmar2169 they clearly stated why they changed, it had nothing to do with bullying, though I don’t deny that it happens sometimes and that some people are incredibly annoying about it
I really don't like the english dub in JJK, I think it was amazing in AoT, but most of the time I prefer Sub... But I also love Dub in german, sometimes they are really awesome.
I'm fine with you guys pausing or going back if you missed some subtitles rather than hearing almost any dub😂 Shows should be watched in its original language I feel
YEEEEEEAAAAH SUBBED WON. Normal human beings are going to be completely fine with you guys having to pause if you need to to make sure you can read and understand what you’re reading. This is a reaction channel, we want to see you react! Love your guys stuff and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE restart vindland saga, that show is fantastic and season 2 is even better.
@@mateussoares3569 If English is not your first language, wouldn't understanding nerdy and clarus be as hard as understanding the anime? I always think if you're here for the anime episodes themselves, you're in the wrong place, the commentary is what actually makes reactions viable. Also, its more important that the reactors retain their joy, otherwise, their quality will inevitably suffer.
You gotta keep in mind that the first season of JJK is kinda all over the place. The first episodes are the weakest part of the show and have a few inconsistencies imo (like Megumi surviving crashing into buildings with no explanation why whatsoever) and flaws (childish humor), you can see the author had ideas for the overall plot but was still searching for his own tone. I myself think those first episodes are mediocre. I was honestly a JJK hater when I read those chapters in the manga back in the day, not understanding what the hype was about. But it gets better quickly after that, once a certain misanthropic character is introduced in the story. You also gotta keep in mind that the show doesn't start at the start of the story. You could almost say it starts in the middle (That's why it starts with such strong scenes and strong villains out of nowhere). If you notice, characters talk a lot about past events and past characters. The first season keeps infodumping you and you have no way to get a clue until you go further in the show and rewatch the beginning afterwards.
Please don’t let them damned sub elitists bully y’all like this, dub fans we need to band together & my “best of dubbed anime” playlist is the perfect way to do so
i feel bad for bullying yall ToT but the sub character dynamics are def better and funnier. just want you to have the best experience as somone whos seen both and im usually a dub champion
@@Ohg665 no, things are supposed to be watched in their original form. I watch every English movie in English not Japanese, also French movies and so on. So why can't Americans do the same?
@@アキコ2003 Because some people actually rather hear it in their own language instead of going back and forward reading the subtitles and seeing what’s happening on the screen.
@@Ohg665 the subtitles and the episode are on the same screen..there is no such thing as going back and forth..its just..looking at the screen and seeing both the episode and the subtitles?
Welp. Thought I was going to be skipping out, but I am pleasantly surprised. I’ll be going back to episode 1 to watch that with you two and then I’ll be back for this one. Cheers!
Thank you for listening to the recommendation of the subtitles, you will really appreciate it. The master sound really sounds better and the emotions feel natural. I hope you really enjoy it like this.
I was vibing with the sub honestly, shouldn’t let your viewers walk all over you. Idk if people just listen because of views but loyal subscribers aren’t gonna leave. If people don’t like your videos then they don’t have to watch
Just watch subbed… English voice acting is ridiculously lacking compared to Japanese voice acting. Ignore the fact that it’s a different language and you start to appreciate the lines even though it’s a different language. Why do you think “gambare gambare” hit off with all the memes and people doing it all over the internet? It’s because of the intonation of Japanese words that allow for it to be possible and that’s not something English voice acting can do. Also, if you watch enough anime in subbed, you slowly get to understand a little Japanese words enough to somewhat understand what they say even without reading the subtitles. Learn something new and step out of your comfort zone people
WTF ? You really gave up and switched to sub ? What the point of it ? To hear language that you don’t understand and watch subtitles instead of enjoying anime itself ? These people are acting crazy, don’t listen to them. Us dub is decent
Subbed it's always better it's literally the language of the country the anime was made in lool if people don't like subbed it's a skill issue and they should learn how to multitask
I watch all live action foreign films and TV series with subtitles. I pretty much only watch animation dubbed into English or Spanish. The facial expressions and body language aren't nuanced enough to communicate emotion and humor in a language I don't understand. It's just sounds with intention and that's not enough for me.
@@johvader8929 then why tf do u think u can speak for new anime fans??? If they wanted to read they’d pick up a manga. Then there’s how awkward the translations r in sub, which yes they’re translations just like dub. Just 1 of the arguments made in my “best of dubbed anime” playlist.
Sigh..... the dubbed VA's alone is a good enough reason to watch the dubbed. I am very much in the camp of wanting to watch the show AND listen to the english at the same time. Gojo and Yugi are way better in the dubbed.
Just because someone doesn't enjoy every single piece of media you do, doesn't mean they'll hate on something just because it's also something you enjoy. They are clearly having a pretty good time with this so far. "Terrorists", you're just being ridiculous.
They'll probably stick with JJK since it's far more simpler than AoT and Vinland and there's nothing in it like AoT and Vinland that could trigger them.
