@@BordeauxLife Why doesn’t anyone mention the elephant in the room? A mansion like this is not easily sold and the few people that can actually afford it are used to luxury. However, the interior is not luxurious at all. The kitchen/bathrooms look unfinished and the yellow walls are hardly to everyone’s taste. Also I don’t understand why you don’t spend money on proper (modern!) staging. People like looking at old things, but they surely don’t want to live in it. Just compare this home with any of the house flips on HGTV and you will see a huge difference. In its current state the mansion looks and feels like a museum and I cannot imagine how any potential buyer can get the feeling of this ever becoming a family home. If you don’t sell the dream, you won’t sell the house.

@@antimon9085 'Proper' staging is incredibly expensive. And the luxury finishes you are speaking of should really be the choice of the buyers. My bigger concern is the location - I hope the proximity to streets and other buildings don't deter prospective buyers. I wish Ed and Anna all the very best.

This is most likely the best of all home renovations I have ever seen in my 52 years of life. You both have an eye for excellence and simplicity. If I lived in your country, I would be beating the doors down to make an offer to purchase. This far exceeds my most humble desires of a dream home. I think Eds idea of building a Chateau from scratch is a monumental task but if anyone can do it he can. This beautiful renovation, a blend of both the historic and the new, just proves that with a lot of blood. sweat and tears a dream can come true. You both had a vision and with a lot of hardwork, determination and the support of family, friends and the viewers your passion project came to fruition. Depending on your age will determine if I can honestly say I’m excited for you. If at any time in the new build process you turn 55 and still have a massive amount of work to do to finish, then my excitement will turn to extreme worry!!! From experience, I can promise you that from 55 to 65 (and beyond), anything physical takes 3x longer than you think and after 70 it becomes almost impossible to manage on your own. Once your knees go (and they will), your back isn’t far behind. You also start loosing your strength at 60 and your coordination and eye sight at 65, then your stamina somewhere between 66-70. If you can have the new project 85% or more complete by 55-60, which may sound like it’s a long way off but it’s NOT, then go for it!!!! BEST OF LUCK

How did you afford all this, do you have a business, or well paid job? What you have done is remarkable, and can see you have done a lot of the work yourself, and to a really good standard, also glad you kept the flaws and not ruined the character of the house, it gives the house its own life story. Would love for you to save another chateau - one that needs love again. So many derelict chateaus in France that need a saviour. It's just amazing! No words for how impressed I am with you two. In 3-4 years you transformed it and did all the work yourself (and with the help of a handyman) .
