That's a massive bunker. I'm surprised you don't add extra weight to the packing tractors like a big concrete block on the 3 point

Tractors are probably around or over 15 tons. Likely near manufacturer max weight, with the blades and ballast. I'm sure they know how much it takes to get a good pack on the bunkers after this long. Great question and input though. 👍

@@MorganOtt-ne1qj where I live it's rare to see tractors doing packing work without a large concrete block or one of those heavy roller packers on the back plus weights on the front. I would assume they have fluid in the tires besides that for doing other field work

@@strong40 likely fluid, and you can see the weights on the rears of the 9 series tractors, and they both have front blades. I'm fairly certain that the Hourigan operation has figured out what works for them, and I am sure they appreciate any new ideas. 👍, my friend!

Belated Happy Birthday Alex!! Great Video Andy. I think when you are opening a field, don't even try to load the truck on the road. Just pull in with the chopper running and blow it on the ground. It opens up a spot for the truck, you don't have to align the truck and the chopper, and best of all you don't get sileage on the road!

I am an old line Farmall and Case IH guy. But I have to admit it's to your credit the credit to your crew and also to the folks at John Deere that built that chopper. When I think that tremendous amount of material that you've put through that machine this last several months, and is dependable as it has been it's just amazing to me no matter what color it is how few breakdowns you have had. An amazing piece of equipment and an amazing testament to preventive maintenance and care for your machine! 😂🌽
