This video tutorial shows how I sometimes finish paracord lanyard and fob ends, by removing about 1/4" of the inner strands, and melting the ends with a lighter, then crimping the ends with hemostats or needle nose pliers, and other times just flattening out the melted ends on the side of a lighter.
