Arlo, I almost never watch people play games or Stream pretty much anything. But I watched all of your Pikmin 1 playthrough because I've always just loved your passion for Pikmin (which I share) and I definitely would love to see you play 2, 3 and 4 but maybe not your first time since that's an experience you should cherish at your own pace.
I really hope that the number of non-Wii/Wii U ports/remasters as of late means that we’ll end up getting more. Prime 1 remastered, Dark Moon, and now Pikmin 1&2 show that Nintendo is willing to put in the effort to remaster or make ‘enhanced ports’ of said consoles’ games. I would personally love to see a remaster of Four Swords Adventures with local AND online multuplayer
I did my part for the greater Pikmin good! Bought 1, 2, 3 and looking forward to get 4! I played the original on GameCube but couldn't handle the stress, thanks to your playthroughs I feel more confident and am having a tone of fun with it now!
I almost cried playing pikmin 1 for the first time on the switch 2 days ago. Never have i had it this hard before. Experiencing pikmin for the first time by playing pikmin 3 had me thinking this game would be no big deal. Nevertheless I did complete the game in 16 ingame days and lost 250 soldiers in total. I think I did okay but I couldve easily done better.
@@mr.cheesytoad5845100% finished pikmin 2 in 28 ingame days and my file has 18 hours on it. I lost total of 140 pikmin(with tons of resets during disasters). I loved the high quality HD ending so much i recorded and put it on my channel
18:30 the crush glitch is a glitch where if you charged too many pikmins at a single enemy like bulborbs mostly one of the pikmins collision or hitbox idk ,it bugs and makes on of the pikmin trespass the floor and eventually die it happened at me a lot when i played that i charged 100 pikmins to a bulborbs and one of them died without getting eaten most weird it doesn't even show up the soul death animation
Something about forcing them through the floor when the enemy dies just kills them. You can test this with a constructed bridge in Forest Navel as well, just walk them under it and force them to walk toward the bottom. Game won't let them pop out on top of the bridge, so unless they get pushed out the sides, they just go through the floor and stop existing. Since they didn't technically die, it's why you can get weird numbers like 100/98
Idea: new hold items for pikmin? We have bomb rocks. But maybe there could be other things: Stones: A Pikmin breaks the stone on enemy when they hit, dealing a lot of damage (kind of like being a rock pikmin for a hit) Tiles: Instead of pikmin automatically taking the tiles on a specific route, maybe you find them in various areas, pick them up, then can invest them into bridges
20:10 I waited until I 100%ed everything but wistful wilds to do submerges castle and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was, until I accidentally killed all my purples in the boss battle and had to start over
I love these Arlo Plays videos. :) And if you can play through Fire Emblem: Three Houses again, it would be worth it. There's a lot that's different on each playthrough.
Yeah, I think Pikmin 2 was my favorite. I didn't even play it on Gamecube - I liked Pikmin 1 well enough but the time limit really really stressed me out (at the time I'm not sure I had ever beat it with all ship parts) so I skipped it. Eventually picked up Pikmin 2 when it came to Wii though and it was like holy crap, I love this game! The time pressure was gone and yeah it was harder, but there was also so much to do. Caves were just amazing. I loved Pikmin 3 as well but Pikmin 2 will always be special to me in that way. Seeing caves returning to Pikmin 4 is just so hype. It really feels like Pikmin 4 is Pikmin 2 2 in a way XD Everytime I see more of that game I just want to play it so badly.
@@ryan20028 I mean, this was my very first time playing and I had no idea how to get any of the parts (or even how to play well). Yeah, if you know what you're doing it's fine but at the time it stressed me out.
As long as you make sure to get at least one part per day you’re good, and if you get 2 or 3 parts in one day you’re good to go for the rest of the game. Unless you’re really bad, there’s not gonna be that many days where you get no parts.
I also beat the game as well but the bulblex took my Pikmin down hard so I had to restart the day a few times and I throw bombs one at a time instead of all at once
Arlo would use whistle call on GameCube to make yellows drop the bombs. Since that was tweaked in later versions, he had to adjust his approach a little.

I’ve never understood how other people can have the audacity to tell someone else what kind of language they can use. If you think your children will be so scandalized by a “naughty word”, you should probably never let them watch tv, go to a movie, listen to music, play a video game, or make any friends. That way they’ll never be exposed to the trauma of a word, like, shit. I mean what would happen to their little poor little developing minds if they heard that four letter word?
I love 1 but it is definitely the worst of the 3 (and I suspect of the 4, soon enough). The Pikmin AI alone makes it so much harder and not in a fun challenging way
I mean I know I'm a little bit behind since this was streamed 13 days ago however literally yesterday I completed all of Pikmin 3 on ultra spicy mode in a single whole day during a 7 hours 3 mcgiver take it's really not that hard and I was with me 100% in all of the fruit as well so like I Believe in you mr. our love if I can beat Pikmin 3 and completely one-hundred-percent it on the hardest difficulty in 7 hours give or take I'm sure that you can do it in like a day or two especially since I haven't touched Pikmin 3 in two years, hell I even beat my previous best time of ultra spicy mode buy a whole whopping two minutes give or take
I like the idea of three at once. In a "you pick three onions to land in the morning" kinda deal. It would kind of suck to get halfway into an area only to learn you took the wrong type, but it could be interesting. Or maybe each area has specific Pikmin allowed there?
I think it's so stupid that they changed Wollywog to wollyhop. It's so obviously a play on polliwog. And if they wanted to change it for the release across the pond because it's a slur, that's one thing, but it don't mean nothing to us yanks.
It makes sense to me for them to want there to be a unified English release. Better then having a slur to just change it and never worry about it again
@@sithlordmikeyp If your argument is that "slurs are okay as long as it's a minority", then I just think we're never going to agree. This world is hard enough without those suffering being forced to have wonderful things like Pikmin contribute to it. I like the original name too as an American, but I care more about those who would be hurt by it then by how it sounds. Well get used to it.
@@thod8820 dude, I’m not freaking saying slurs are okay in any case. I didn’t even allude to that. Is POLLIWOG, the REAL LIFE ANIMAL, a slur? Bc wollywog was named after THAT. I’m not trying to offend anybody, I just don’t understand the change. I think if you’re offended by that, then you’re crazy.
@@sithlordmikeyp Because in some places part of the name is a slur. So they removed that part. Just because it seems crazy to you doesn't mean that it doesn't affect other people.
