Putting every pikmin game on a portable device is going to literally eat my life away. I'm not sure I'll ever play anything else, and im sure as hell not complaining
@@Echo81Rumple83I actually tried playing Pikmin on my steam deck but I couldn’t find a disc image for the Wii version, and I couldn’t get into the Gamecube one without type switching. The rerelease on Switch was exactly what I needed.
I don't know what it is, but my dog freaking loved this video. She watched the whole thing with me and was so interested. I guess you've got human and canine fans over here, Arlo! 😂
Funny that you mention that each Pikmin type has it's own visual feature. I just noticed this yesterday, and it struck me that when teamed up together, the first three pikmin types of red, yellow, and blue cover all 5 of the senses. Neat details!
It could be said White and Purple round it off too Red=Nose=Smell Yellow=Ears=Hearing Blue=Mouth=Taste White=Eyes=Sight Purple=HairFeelerThings???=Touch Well purples are the ones with the most mass and touch anyway.
@@JammyJam5588 Their are technically more then 5 senses, Purple pikmin = sense of gravity. You can look at a persons hair to see which way gravity is falling.
I’m usually not one to watch Vods all the way through but Arlo being so casual and having conversations and such during stream has made it super easy to just put it on in the background while working on stuff
Louie isn't one-dimensional in Pikmin 3! He's sneaky, mysterious, speaks little, and has an eerie sense of imminent danger... almost as if he has a strange connection to the planet's wildlife... And he's also quite a cook!
The Creeping Crysanthemum at 1:04:45 now reminds me of some old kaiju creatures. I've been getting into Ultraman this year, and seeing the way the eye was animated reminds me of the designs from the 1996 show
I do really like the reuse of the map in TotK, it makes it feel like an realistic sequel, and I love the joy of discovery seeing how they changed locations that have been so dear to me for 5+ years
I played Pikmin 2 for the first time last year thanks to dolphin. Arlo's love was a big factor in getting me to try it. Btw shelled sunflower seeds on avocado toast is super delicious.
While I have yet to catch a stream live on Twitch, I'm so glad you've been uploading them to this channel! It's good to see Arlo Plays alive and well 😂
Just finished my first playthrough of Pikmin 1. Game is really good even as the beginning of this game franchise, though pikmin love to hide about in every corner I still found controlling the pack not too bad with some time and practice. With only two day rollbacks (day 29+30) was able to get the rest of the parts and completed the ship in all it’s glory. Thank you Arlo for introducing me and many others to this franchise and hoping to see many more streams from ya 😁
Nerf idea for purples: You need to "charge up" a throw with them for it to stun. I.e. you hold the purple for ~3 sec and then the throw will do a lot of damage/stun. Otherwise, purple is thrown just like other piks?
That’s a really interesting idea, actually! It’s so easy to forget about the charge as anything more than time to line up uour shot. It could make them feel like great combat support, and let you keep Pikmin on an enemy without having to whistle them off :D
2:07:38 I’m so glad I was able to find this. It makes me so happy to look back on that day. Arlo videos always put a smile on my face. I’m glad I was able to do the same in return ❤️
I think what would've been cool is that the bodies on caves would go to a purple and white pikmin onion, and so you can build your troops up for them easier, but ONLY in caves.
Pikmin 2 is definitely my favorite but 3 is for sure the tighter game. It's like, sickeningly well put together. If 4 is (an evolution of) the gameplay of 3 with the... game? of 2 then it'll easily be the best one in the series
That feeling when I have to keep turning this off because it makes me want to play Pikmin myself so bad that I have to go play a little before I can watch the rest :3
Arlo your purple pikmin slander will not be tolerated. They are super powered for a reason. They're harder to generate and the slowest pikmin even with flower buds they are slower than many leaf pikmin so running they're easier to get picked off if careless. With their heavy power they can stun and give off heavy damage. It's balanced enough. They are only op if you're already great at the game.
On the bugs that still wiggle after you kill them, a lot of insects and some reptiles still twitch and writhe after death, so you might just be seeing it do that.
does anyone know what the company's job is doing? essentially delivering foodstuff? i can't remember, TBH, but i guess it would make a convenient problem to kickstart the second game with Louie's questionably sus appetite X3
Well the whole reason the company is in debt is because Louie "lost" all the golden Pikpik carrots he was supposed to deliver while Olimar was trapped on PNF-404.
im not sure if this is how it works cuz i dont even have the game but i heard someone say to cycle left for the pikmin you hold one and press the y button, you can try it but i still have no idea if it actually works
I think the reason they didn't do Green or Orange is because- Orange can be way more easily seen as red than Purple can be seen as Blue (especially the shade they used), and Green would blend in too much with the basic leaves on Pikmin.
bro, don’t microwave your eggs… don’t microwave anything, if you can help it. pro-tip for easy poached eggs: crack the egg in a little bowl first, and drop it into a solution of room temp water and vinegar. the vinegar cooks the outside of the egg ever-so-slightly, helping it keep its form during cooking. transfer the egg from the vinegar solution to the simmering water with a spider thingy. also, maybe use apple cider vinegar, for a tiny healthy upgrade? or if you’re just cooking one egg, just swirl the water in the pot before dropping the egg into the center of the vortex.
Are we sure that Pikmin 4 only has one captain? I feel like there's no way they'd do that, especially when they've shown you'll definitely be rescuing other captains/characters. I wonder if some of those will provide upgrades and some will become additional captains to control.
I think Pikmin 3's overall lack of challenge set me up to fail when it comes to Pikmin 1 and 2. My ongoing first play-through of 2 has been a chaotic mess of Pikmin deaths and little else. Still a good game, though.
@@istealpopularnamesforlikes3340 yeah but kinda was hoping we get the usa port but I can see why they used the pal version gotta get used to the different names
@@istealpopularnamesforlikes3340 If I remember correctly the 16:9 resolution could cause more slowdown due to more being on screen with the slight pull back camera. But that hopefully shouldn't be an issue now.
You never know many there is but there is a specific sound that play when you got them all and once you get the radar it get very obvious when you got all the treasures because the radar go gray.
100 of their money is more than a years salary... given that he probably gets paid decently, maybe around 90,000 a year... We can guess that 10,000 is probably equal to 10 million dollars for us.
why would they do that lmao they def aren't going into nearly 20 year old source code to make the fun thing less fun in a port. people would flip their shit
Plus Purple Pikmin are pretty balanced especially for new players since they're much harder to obtain than Red, Blue and Yellow Pikmin. I'm still hesitant to throw them in harm's way because of that.
did they friggin remaster the cutscenes in this? why couldnt they do that for Sunshine? *remembers there was proof that the game was ported in hurry* oh yeah, right.
It is f-ed up he dosent get to see his family. But at the same time its his fault he didnt take his family on his Vacation. But hey at-least this time he has full communication with his family for this entire journey. Now what is questionable is I doubt he’s being payed for it! His boss just exploits his good will.
Man after playing 2, I can really appreciate the QoL that 3 gave us. Pikmin AI is really REALLY dumb, the swarm doesnt feel as reliable as charge, and seeing certain enemies respawn every day/every other day can make exploring the world a little bit frustrating. On the other hand... Man pikmin 3's difficulty is a pretty big letdown compared to 2's, Ive lost so, SO many pikmin in 2😂. I made the smart decision of doing i believe the subterranean complex for my 3rd dungeon, and while I think the boss is super overrated (he couldnt hit anything but purple leafs so he only killed like 3 pikmin), my GOD i lost 60+ pikmin. I wish the difficulty wasnt quite so random like falling bomb rocks/bomber dweevils, but I definitely appreciate the leap on difficulty.
they added a difficulty that makes the game significantly harder in 3 Deluxe. the most notable change is that you can only have 60 pikmin out at once! and if you played that and found _that_ easy, I applaud you for being very good at Pikmin
I guess it depend on whether or not you liked Pikmin 2 more than the others. Because Pikmin 4 look to be a successor to 2 in the same way Pikmin 3 was a successor to 1.
Because it has the most content, the most challenge, a bunch of creepy lore, the caves give a style of more laid back Pikmin gameplay unlike the other 2 games (we will see with 4) Might be the only reasons I can think of why people think it's the best? But they're pretty good reasons. It might be my favourite, I'm not sure, I love Pikmin 3 too but for different reasons and I love Pikmin 1 but clearly it's the weakest.
@@cookiesontoast9981 so one thing I love about the pikmin series is trying to be as efficient as possible, and I just don’t get that with 2. Do you get the urge to be efficient with 2?
Tinykin is super cute (with one small mysteriously creepy area), but Pikmin 4 is a much bigger blockbuster production that makes Tinykin look worse than it is. If you want to play it, better play it before Pikmin 4 comes out.
Well Pikmin 1 and 3 is about time management and collecting everything in the game before time run out. (Even tought the game give you so much time that you'll never run out of time save for maybe on your first playthrought.) In Pikmin 2, you still collect treasures. However there is no time limit at all. You can just take as many days as you want to beat the game. The game also introduced caves that change everytime you enter and they house many treasures and dangerous enemies. Basically this game introduced some dungeon crawling elements in the Pikmin series which wasn't a thing in 1 or 3. But it look like the concept of caves is returning in Pikmin 4.
Just found out that Pikmin 4 is going from 3's simultaneous co-op multiplayer to a Super Mario Galaxy-style 'second player can shoot stuff with an on-screen pointer'. Pikmin 4 has gone from "day one purchase" to "might pick it up on sale someday" for me. Pikmin NEEDS co-op multiplayer.
I don't know what it is, but my dog freaking loved this video. She watched the whole thing with me and was so interested. I guess you've got human and canine fans over here, Arlo! 😂
