I find if you hold the cat firm with one arm and raise it head slightly and syringe liquid meds into side of mouth , close their mouth and keeping his head upward gently rub its throat to assist swallowing With tablets … enclose the tablet in butter … hold him in exactly the way detailed above … push buttered tablet into the side of his mouth , close his mouth, head still raised and gently rub his throat Have all meds and treats to hand before you start … hopefully ensuring speed and less stress Then tasty treat to follow immediately and a cuddle , he’ll soon learn to ‘endure’ to get treat and cuddle This method works with dogs also … yay ! Step is lovely 🙏☘️😘
I had a cat with the same problems (they don’t go away) but one thing that you need to make sure is that not to give them tap water, I have my cat bezoar water which is suitable for babies, it reduces the risk of crystals building up in their urine, hope you didn’t mind my mentioning it x
Thanks Sandra. We don't have any 'tap' water as such :) All out water is filtered and purified by reverse osmosis, which apparently removes a lot of the minerals and all impurities. We'll check it out further. Thanks for the tip
Glad Katzi is on the mend now. It gets costly, Vet Bills and Food but what are you to do? They are worth every effort. Hope he keeps improving and has a full recovery. It's added stress to your already full lives and when they suffer it's a ripple effect. The Step looks something out of Architecture Digest. Simply spectacular! And the wood trim really does finish the ceiling so beautifully. Unbelievable how it dresses the whole room to look like it was just build new not 150+ years ago. You 2 sure know how to keep us coming back with all the continuous improvements (so expertly done) And thank you for adding more footage of the Fur Souls. They all look so loved and taken care off. I'm putting off getting a nother dog ten years now til I know I can absolutely find grass fed beef pork or a local fisherman or natural local chicken. With of course veg. Too many pet foods put profit over health 😥
I had recently had one of my cat that needed some medicine, I found out if I put a towel over her eyes she would calm down and it was easy to giver her medicine. You mite try that, that's what my Vet told me.

I commented in a couple of videos back about the dry food. Male cats have the urinary tract issue and even the expensive (they cost me $90+ Aus) dry food specially for urinary tract issues, didn’t work. The only solution was to stop all dry food. If Katsi continues to have the issues or any other male cat, you may want to consider that option.

Apologies, I got called away…a trick to getting animals to swallow medicine is to blow in their face, the surprise reaction will cause them to swallow!
Sharon, you may have to be “cruel to be kind” and put him to sleep. It’s not what you want, but that’s probably the best for him. I had the same with ours, and with the vet’s help, I decided to do so. I tend to think because the prior owners had him in a cage, they new he was very sick then!! Then along came you, the caring, loving person you are.
