Steel Div2 Playlist: • Steel Division 2
Today I got my hands on the new DLC for Steel Division 2; Fate of Finland - Finnish decks look kinda meme-y but that wont stop me!
Steel Division 2 pushes the limits of the WW2 RTS experience. Set on the Eastern Front in 1944, this sequel of the critically acclaimed Real-Time Tactical game puts you in charge of your entire army during Operation Bagration, the Soviet offensive against Nazi armies in Bielorussia.
Play as a General in the 1:1-scale turn-based Dynamic Strategic Campaigns, as a Colonel in the epic Real-Time Tactical Battles, as an Weapon Expert in the brand-new Deck Building System.
With more than 600 units, 25 maps, and multiple game modes, Steel Division 2 lets you play as you want and offers hundreds of hours of gameplay in solo, multiplayer and coop.
Massive 1:1-Scale Dynamic Strategic Campaigns
Relive history in the huge single player Dynamic Strategic Campaigns: lead thousands of men on up-to 150x100 km maps, plan your battalion' movements, manage supply and execute your strategy in week-long campaigns in this historically accurate turn-based game mode. Every battalion is the same as it was during the Operation Bagration.
Pick your side and relive this massive offensive or rewrite the course of events. Decide which battalion will take part into battle, fight every one of them in real-time tactical combat, or use autoresolve for a pure Strategic experience.
More than just another game mode, the Dynamic Strategic Campaigns are an entire new game within the game.
Authentic Real-Time Tactical Battles
Field over 600 extremely detailed units, including the iconic T-34 tank, the Katyusha multiple rocket launcher and the IL-2 ground-attack aircraft! Select your division, pick the units you will send to battle, and build the perfect battlegroups in the brand new deck system, allowing more tactical freedom than ever.
Fight in the 25 new available battlefields, analyze the terrain and use your tactical skills to give the right order at the right time and dominate your enemy!

The soviets dropped bombs on finnish cities and when they were asked about it Molotov said they were just dropping food and breadbaskets for the starving finns. So the finns thought the should return the favor so they started calling the flaming bottles Molotov cocktails to mock Molotov.

@@bluthian That's not even maoist, they're way too big revisionists to be much of a burden on Marx's name. Honestly though, point is that everything that stems up from the bolshevik revolution has been a failure. Lying, on the other hand, is a feature mostly correlating with authoritarian regimes which get a bit too far into leader worship; just look at Russia, China or United States. (Though within communist thought, the modern authoritarian practices can be once again blamed on the bolsheviks). Communist thought is infested with Leninism, whether they mean it or not and as such communism has failed. But that's not really to be put on Marxism but the later works.

Kind of annoying to see that the enemy team didn't use any of their BG's strength. The guy you face is using the 126th. It's strong at rushing at the start of the game with fast light tank and good CQB infantries in fast jeeps. Then, in pharse B it can hold the line with good amount of 57mm AT (best main Soviet AT) and up to 12 powerful fast-firing mountain artillery. No clue why he attempt to fight you, as Panssar, with his inferior tanks. P.S. The 126th is made up of mountain and marine units.

The molotov cocktail joke comes from the fact that molotov said the USSR had no interest in Finland then the winter war started
@Iceman_zZz
@Iceman_zZz 4 года назад
The joke comes from the soviets bombing Finnish cities during the Winter War. Molotov claimed the soviets were only dropping bread baskets. We figured not to be out done and served the soviet tankers some Molotovs Coctails to go with the bread.
@SonsOfLorgar
@SonsOfLorgar 4 года назад
The Finnish molotov coctail was also completely different from the gasoline in a bottle with a burning rag used by modern rioters. The Finnish original was a nasty concoction of white spirit as fuel (lacknafta), pine resin as gelling agent and to provide stickyness and extend burn time and hydrogen superoxide as a chemical oxidizer and catalyst, all mixed to a sticky syrup consistency, poured into a sealed bottle with a porcelin plug and rubber or cork gasket secured by steel wire and fitted with several coal gas generator matches around the body of the bottle, match heads facing away from the cap. A coal gas generator match is essentially a silvery sparkler with a strike anywhere match head and the direction of the matches were chosen so that the neck of the bottle could be used the same way as the shaft of the stick grenades supplied by their German allies. When lit, the sparkler compound of the match would burn for almost a minute with no risk of igniting the contents of the bottle until the bottle breaks, and if the throw had to be aborted or the match burned out before the opportunity to throw, they could just light the next match and if all were burned out, the matches was just tied onto the bottle with metal wire and could be easily replaced in the field.

Steel division Ai artillery is good. But i dont believe it cheats , its just very good at micromanaging its counter battery-fu. Carry out a experiment and itll be plain to see. Have a battery of 4 howitzers across the map in trees and no enemy scouts planes around. Fire a slavo of 4 or so shells, then zip zoom them manually away. What you will find is the incoming airstrikes and counter battery fire will hit the spot where your units was. AI is everywhere , player can only micro so much so it feels like cheating. Better to change artillery to be less damaging or accurate, but heavily increase the suppression as to not make them useless.

This was clearly stated for example in the seecret protocol of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, where Finland and Baltic States were considered USSR's sphere of influence. Finland definitely lost two wars, but considering winter war from the point of view that Finland's goal was to keep their independence and Soviet Union's goal was to invade Finland, might give you some fresh perspective to the matter.
