For everyone who pointed out that Within Temtation isn’t in fact a Finnish band we apologize for the misunderstanding! We will make sure to do a much more detailed research before we publish anything! Thank you for pointing it out, because only with your feedback we can learn and grow to give you better content in the future! We appreciate every single one of you watching, supporting and being active in the comments and our social media pages! Much love Kintiy and Brian ❤️
For me, just typing Within Temptation to Google first thing I read is that they are dutch. So ... you don't have to dig that deep to find that info. Anyway, I really like your videos and will continue watching any "React to finnish..." you make.
Hey, shit happens. Even to the best ones... At the same time a couple of recommendations: Disco Ensemble, Apulanta, Kotiteollisuus, Stamina, Don Johnson Big Band, CMX, PMMP, Don Huonot, Cleaning Women, Mokoma, Kolmas nainen, The Crash, and Eppu normaali. Unfortunately, most of these bands do not exist anymore. Still, they are all part of Finnish music.
Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but Within Temptation isn't a Finnish band, they are actually from The Netherlands, but the song you listened to was featured by Tarja Turunen, a Finnish singer😅
christuu_dd it was probably requested because of Tarja being there, we apologize for the mix up, definitely not making this mistake again! We make mistakes and learn from them so in the future you guys receive better content! Thank you so much for pointing this out! Have a blessed day 🙏🏻
You should listen Raskasta joulua-Tulkoon joulu. It's collaboration band with various artists and they perform christmas carols! Ps. You have to listen the whole song because the artists perform in turns!
Timo rautiainen- lumessakahlaajat Apulanta- pahempi toistaan ( pls the version with the longer intro it's so much better) Turmion kätilöt- teurastaja Haloo helsinki!- maailma on tehty meitä varten Sunrise avenue- fairytale gone bad Happoradio- che guevara Zen café- piha ilman sadettajaa Egotrippi- matkustaja Stig- roy orbison Antti ketonen- olisitpa sylissäni Jenni vartiainen- ihmisten edessä Cheek- liekeissä
Some more suggestions: Eppu Normaali - Vuonna '85 (alternatively try "Tahroja Paperilla", "Tahdon Sut" or "Rannalla Vihreän Joen") Yö - Rakkautta Vain Happoradio - Tavikset Dingo - Levoton Tuhkimo Zen Cafe - Mies Jonka Ympäriltä Tuolit Viedään Teflon Brothers - Maradona
Veeti Tuomaala Siis jos et ole vielä ymmärtänyt, siinä missä Finnish tarkoittaa suomalaista, Finish tarkoittaa lopettamista. Joten pyysin, ettei musiikkia lopeteta :)
OH MY LORD! THEY'RE FINNISH!? That makes me so happy to hear 😆 Sadly they mainly perform covers so it could get too messy for me to feature them but wow! You blew my mind 😄
Cheek is 36 so you actually nailed it! :D Few weeks ago Cheek actually song his last consert "valot sammuu" witch means "the lights go out". Feels weird becouse he has been around 1998-2018 Cheek is now coaching a new rap singer Lucas Leon. If you want to react to him, you should listen to Lucas Leon - xtc
The Apocalyptica song is a cooperation with singers from HIM and Rasmus. The thing with Apocalyptica is that they play metal on classical instruments. I think they mostly do Metalica covers. Check out a live performance of Enter Sand Man where you really get to see their skills.
Should also add that while Bittersweet is certainly a calm and pretty song, they can also sound really heavy and dark. Turns out the cello is a pretty versatile instrument, it can sound either ethereally beatiful or downright evil.
Within Temptation isin't finnish band. Great band, but sadly not finnish. :) I'd love to see you listen Apulanta, they have many great songs but my all time favourite is called Jumala. :) So pls if you ever make reactions to finnish music part 4, i highly recommend that.
I'm not from Finland myself, however I love the country (shout out to all Mika Häkkinen and Kimi Räikkönen fans^^). As a metalhead you have to admire the Finnish old school death metal scene. Purtenance, Demigod, Demilich, Adramelech and Convulse are amazing bands. Nice that you reviewed Amorphis; great band. Another extreme metal band is Rotten Sound (grindcore), then there are the very popular folk metal bands (Korpiklaani, Finntroll, Turisas, Ensiferum). If you want mainstream rock, then check out HIM.
Apocalypypticas name comes from metallica, they started as a band playing metallica by four cellos. And the singers were from him (VilleValo) and The Rasmus (Lauri Ylönen)
Bittersweet feat Ville and Lauri is one of my all-time favourite tracks. I love Apocalyptica and am crazy about Ville Valo ex-HIM. 💙🇫🇮 The Bee by Amorphis, what an amazing song! Tomis growls are the best I've ever heard and his clean vocals are so beautiful. If you do anymore Finnish reactions please do Death of a king or Wrong Direction by the same band. And more HIM please 💙🇫🇮 Gone with the sin, Our diabolical rapture (live 98), Join me in death, Right here in my arms, Your sweet six six six, Passion's killing floor, For you, Sleepwalking past hope (live Digital Versitale Doom)...and so many more to choose from.
As a Finn I didn't know ALMA was Finnish music😂 I was insanely surprised to learn that these songs I thought were obviously American because of the production were indeed from Finland.
Watching you just brings a smile on my face. You are really great analyser and you react really well on different style of music. Please keep doing these videos!
If you ever have a chance to see amorphis in concert, I really would suggest you doing it. They are so amazing, they sound so clean and almost just like the album. They have an amazing music quality. Just flawless.
I would recommend Turmion Kätilöt. They just dropped a new album too. They have a few songs in english as well but to be honest the best ones have always been in finnish. Maybe you could try one of the new singles off the recent album, called "Sikiö" :)
The Finnish choice of alcoholic beverages is Lonkero, a Finnish invention from the 50's. It's a mix of gin and grape juice, has 5,5% alcohol. Also, two bands you need to include in next video: Reckless Love - Hot & Santa Cruz - We Are The Ones to Fall!
I would love to see you react more to Finnish female vocalists. Chisu (Sabotage), Jenni Vartiainen (Missä muruseni on), Laura Närhi (Hetken tie on kevyt) would be good ones to start. :)
so funny.. ville singing (him) "i recocnise that voice it´s the rasmus then lauri (the rasmus) starts to sing " thats totally him i recocniuse that voice" :D :D
This kid whose rap you liked is the most successfull rapper in Finland. He aswell had his career’s ending gig only few weeks back in hos home town, where I live. He is huge here man. In Finland in general. Everyone from 10-year-olds to 50-year-olds know who Cheek is! ❤️
I love watching these reaction videos! You’re so sweet 😝 Few songs that I recommend for you to react: Teräsbetoni - Taivas lyö tulta Korpiklaani - Vodka / Ievan polkka Beast in Black - Blind and Frozen Sonata Arctica - Fullmoon
Finnish music is actually very popular in Europe (i also hope that in the whole world) - plus there's soooo many kinds of this music it's just amazing. And i know plenty of songs that i didn't even suspect to be from Finland :D congrats and love from Poland 😁💕🇫🇮🇵🇱 ps. Apocalyptica with Lauri.... Nothing left to say.
Pls do more of these! And songs I deeply recommend are Nightwish - While your lips are still red, Tehosekoitin - Hetken tie on kevyt or Maailma on sun, Kwan - Tainted Love or Shine, Apulanta - Aggressio or Pahempi toistaan or Jumala, Happoradio - Che Guevara, Ellinoora - Carrie and Vesala - Tequila.
Ensiferum (viking/folk metal) - Tumman virran taa, It's a very short song (less than a minute) but it's lovely in its simplicity, strong and a little eerie. I always feel like I'm hearing the song deep in my chest.
Don't think Finns really count as Vikings. Vikings were mostly from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland if I remember correctly. Vikings were all over the place at that time so they may have had some impact on Finland. I feel though that Finnish culture is very macho so I get your point though. Also these vids are so much fun! :) Looking forward to next vid about Sweden. Where Tove Lo is from.
There's a viking village near where I live in Finland. I thought the same thing until I read some book that said how the towns near the seas were like hotspots for Vikings - but yeah Finns aren't like labeled as vikings as like the Norwegians are.
Finns have about 1/4 of Viking blood. And some Finns went with the Vikings' (t)rading journeys - parties, yoo-hoo! And some Vikingarna settled in Finland, before the Swedish kingdom conquered Finland. Or the Western Finnish lands, separating the Eastern Karelians from us Finns, with the Russians' ready assistance. And the Swedes have mixed with the Finns. Though tht Viking blood is mixed with the inheritance the Eastern Karelians as well, some of who have never belonged to Finland. So, yeah, Finns were not Vikings - and no, they partly were. We partly are. It's not a very simple question - some families have a lot of Viking blood, some have maybe none. So we Finns are... Half-Vikings? Maybe the famous Viking called Halfinn was Half-Finn?
Going way back, Finns are of uralic descent. Whereas Swedes, Danes and Norweigians are descendants of Norsemen (which would become what you call Vikings). Finns ought to be more close related genetically and culturally to Magyars (Hungarians), Estonians and Karelians than they are to Norsemen. Of course, with that said, you have to take into account the fact that they were ruled for a long period of time by the Kingdom of Sweden. Nontheless, saying that Finns were vikings would be like saying that Scots were vikings...
You getting emotional of Chasing Highs got me emotional as well. You know when it's real. I'm so happy of you making this series and hopefully you'll never stop! And I'm sure you know about HIM. You should listen to "Olet mun kaikuluotain" by Ville Valo (the singer of HIM). I really like him singing in Finnish although we are used to hear him singing in English. Love from Finland!
Please react to: Apulanta - Ravistettava ennen käyttöä SANNI - Me ei olla enää me Robin - Frontside Ollie Jenni Vartiainen - Minä sinua vaan And of course: ZoneVD - Rubert Räppi Edit: And Eino ja Aapeli - Mä voisin olla se
If you want some more Finnish "metal" music, new and old, I recommend Tarot, Viikate, The Hurriganes and especially Sonata Arctica & Northern Kings, where's a singer from Sonata, guitar & singer from Nightwish and Tarot and few others Finnish bands. They're singing mostly 80's hits and is basically synfonic metal with strong voiced male singer.
If you're doing another episode, you should listen: -Antti Tuisku: Keinutaan -Alelsanteri Hakaniemi: Luuseri -Sanni: Jacuzzi -Jenni Vartiainen: Made in Heaven -Cheeck: Valot sammuu (he ended his career with this song) -Benjamin: Naarmuja
I absolutely loved this video! Made me smile. Amorphis is one of my favourite bands and I live in South Africa! I'm surprised no one has mentioned Wolfheart. Absolutely incredible metal band. I think you would have fun with them too :)
I love your videos! I'm from Finland and it warms my heart the most how nicely you talk about our music and our artists. It feels to me that your reactions are sincere and you really do enjoy these songs. It means so much! I'm proud of our artists and personally think that Finns have a great talent in making music. So, I'm hoping new reaction videos! You should listen artist called Ellinoora, she has an amazing voice and is a new singer-songwriter. Very talented young woman with mind blowing exponent.
I seriously hope you get to listen to Apulanta (Pahempi toistaan, Koneeseen kadonnut) and PMMP (Heliumpallo, Pikkuveli) soon, they are really awesome! Great video as always tho, I appericiate everyone who gives finnish music a go!
CMX! This band is great, melodic and poetic. Amazing voice. Try maybe song Ruoste. Another great band is The 69 Eyes with their song Hevioso. Goth, vampire rock. And if you really want to have your mind blown then listen to Korpiklaani : Ievan polkka. You will be headbanging like never before! And last but not least - Happoradio. Amazing rock band and their song Hirsipuu.
CMX and The 69 Eyes do deserve to be spotloghted though if I'd get to choose I'd pick dofferent songs. Maybe Melankolia for CMX due to the hilariously bad music video and Wages of Sin for 69E because it's simply their best song.
Here's a strong HEAVY METAL recommendation for you to listen! Both of these are pioneers of Finnish progressive / thrash metal, and sing in Finnish! Mokoma - "Kesytä perkeleet" or "Sinne missä aamu sarastaa" Stam1na - "Enkelinmurskain" Bonus: IKINÄ - "Turbounelmii" This band caught me by surprise, they're from the same label as the two previous bands and have a really unique sound, at least for the finnish metal music market. Keep making these great reactions, greetings from Finland! 😎✌️🔥
Tove Lo is a Swedish singer and in fact works a lot with ALMA. ALMA also does a lot of work with Charli XCX and recently wrote a couple songs with/for Miley Cyrus. She is pretty much the biggest export Finland has right now musically.
You should react to these finnish songs: Mikael Gabriel - Älä herätä mua unesta, Sturm und Drang - Million nights, Isac Elliot - Rich and Famous, One Desire - Hurt, Evelina - Tornado
These are some newer finnish songs if you want to check them out in the future: Alma- Phases or Karma Cledos ft. Deezydavid- Töis Jvg- Kruunu tikittää Kasmir ft. Saara- Vauvoja Spekti- Juna Herrat- Kumiankka Much love from Finland
This is a nice idea, as I get brand new ideas for music I possibly never found on my own, and some are surprisingly good. Good that you have some metal stuff too. The comic of this is that I am Norwegian and live in Norway, but you are living on the opposite side of the planet who finds this good music!
Dear Brian, thank you so much for these very enjoyable videos - and as a Finn myself I am very happy to see that you enjoy the music our country has to offer. The singer with the deeper voice in the Apocalyptica video/song is Ville Valo from HIM (which you will also probably enjoy). Since you are into metal, if you happen to travel to Finland think about visiting Tuska metal music festival in Helsinki, I am quite sure you would love it.
even tho you don't listen that much of a rap, here's a couple of underrated finnish rap songs that are definitely worth of listening: View - Trippin' Sober Biniyam - Royal Beggar Noah Kin - 822 Gracias - Night Shift (DJ Kridlokk remix) hope this message reaches you. :)
Cheek is the biggest rapper in Finland. He just quit his career for a couple of weeks ago. For example, he had two gigs at the Finnish Olympic Stadium in a row. Both sold out. No other Finn has played at the stadium. In additiqon to this sold out was not even able to Michael Jackson or Madonna.
You absolutely need to make another one of these! There are so many good singers and bands here. And Alma really was going for the American scene with her songs (especially Chasing highs) and she is very close friends with Mø and Charlie XCX. Here's some suggestions for the next video: Some with english lyrics: Stratovarius - Hunting high and low (Power metal) Steve 'n' Seagulls - Thunderstruck (Cover band, Bluegrass) The 69 Eyes - Lost boys (Goth, Sleaze rock) Nick-E Maggz - Who I am (Hip-Hop, Rap) And some with finnish lyrics: Avain - Roihuvuori (Pop, Hip-Hop) Gettomasa, Toinen poski - Lössi (Toinen poski remix) (Hip-Hop, Rap) DJ RZY ft. Various artists - Tervetuloo Helsinkiin (VA: Cheek, Mikael Gabriel, Elastinen, Stig, Spekti, Uniikki, Juno, Tasis, Timo Pieni Huijaus, Davo. Appearing in that order. Includes some of the biggest names in finnish rap scene. And is also a remix of BOMFUNK MC - Freestyler) (Hip-Hop, rap, pop)
Apocslyptica's Bitter sweet is sang by Lauri Ylönen from the Rasmus and Ville Valo from HIM. I recommend you to listen my favourite song from Apocalyptica: I don't care
Actually Cheek ended his career like an month ago or so. He's the most succesful artist in here Finland, he had some huge concerts, but he never went internationally!
You have to put one song from the original Nightwish to your next one of you are going to do it. I'm surprised you haven't in four videos since they are one of the most successful bands internationally we've had (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and when they had Turunen as lead singer they were UNIQUE... Good job on the good videos!
You are missing one of the greatest: Children of Bodom. Try for example "Needled 24/7". Band name refers to mysterious murders that happened at Finnish Bodom-lake in 1960. That band has world class players in it.
Apulanta - Koneeseen Kadonnut, Amorphis - silent waters, 69 Eyes- Lost boys, Sonata Arctica - The Ruins of My Life, Stratovarios- Hunting high and low, Peer Günt -Good Girls Don’t Drink Whiskey.....here is few you must listen to.
Nightwish: Phantom of the opera Sonata arctica: Full Moon Stratovarius: Black Diamond Straight up legends of Finnish music For the giggles. Children of Bodom: Oops I did it again (britney spears troll song)
One of my finnish friend recommanded me your channel :) Keep up the good work ! I love finnish music so much. If I can suggest you some other bands to listen to : The 69 Eyes, Santa Cruz, Reckless Love, Ghost Brigade (If you love Metalcore, then this band is definitely for you), Bloodred Hourglass and Grave Pleasures :) Also, you should make a Christmas video about finnish music and listen to Raskasta Joulua. It's a project in which finnish metal singers sing traditional Christmas carols but in a Heavy Metal style :) In Finland, there is also a tv show called Kuorosota. It is the finnish version of Battle Of The Choirs. It's really fun to watch !
The second one was the singer from Rasmus, Lauri Nönnönnöö, the first one was from HIM, Ville Valo. Apocalyptica guys are classical music geniuses who play heavy metal with chellos.
Here is couple songs what you should listen Stam1na - Kadonneet kolme sanaa Turmion kätilöt - teurastaja Vesala - nyt on lähtö Insomnium - down with The sun Antti Tuisku - keinutaan Or Antti Tuisku - party (papiidipaadi) And one artist who have started shes career in 80's Kaija Koo - nää yöt ei anna armoo feat. Cheek
Recommend to listen to these old finnish legends Huge L - fressi Fintelligens - Kaikki peliin anything from Pikku G Avain Ft. Redrama - Viedää bäkkii anything from Redrama Jukka Poika - Älä tyri nyt Raappana - Kauas pois
STAM1NA - Valtiaan uudet vaateet or kuudet raamit Amorphis- silent waters Charon- colder Sonata Arctica - Fullmoon or The Gun Bloodpit- platitude Stratovarius - Unbreakable MyGrain- Dreamscape or trapped in an hourglass Profane omen- wastehead WOLFHEART - Breakwater korpinklaani- a man with a plan
I would like to see you react to Nightwish - Ghost love score live (official) with Floor Jansen. Its a 10 min long song... but it´s probably one of the most epic ever. There is enough material for one video alone in this one song.
Another great video 👍 Here are some suggestions if you make a part 2 of Swedish music: Sabaton - To hell and back Hammerfall - Hearts on fire Von Benzo - I'm on my way Ebba Grön - Die Mauer Bonafide - Fill your head with rock Raubtier - Låt napalmen regna Have a great day!
A bit of a correction for the viking thing. "Vikings" considered us Rus so we were more on the being raided side of things. The Sami did sometimes work with Norwegian vikings, but they aren't Finland exclusive. It's pretty much just norhtern Scandinavia (and Finland) indigenous people
My suggestions: Charon: Colder, Brother firetribe: I am rock, Battle beast: Black ninja , Reckless Love: Born to break your heart and The Rasmus: No Fear
Some good finnish punk! :) (tried to select ones with a video) Heikki Kuula - Rataraato Pää Kii - Nyt Skipataan Kahvit (no video) Huora - Kovia ja kiljua Huora - Kaikki kaatuu Kakka-Hätä 77 - Narkata Ja Kuolla (no video) Klamydia - Pienen pojan elämää Anal thunder - Song About Getting Smashed
