Being from Finland, it’s great to see our country-leading person knowing how to relax and enjoy time with friends, in light of the challenges she and her government are facing, because “moving and shaking” the body, especially the hips, helps to process emotions allowing for solving problems. Knowing this, I wish for all politicians and leaders to follow suit, on to a nearby dance floor! 💃 🪩 🕺

This is ridiculous. Every public official has a right to a private life. She’s young and some “letting go” occasionally is probably healthy for mental health considering the stresses of high office. Sure, she should have probably requested (or demanded) her friends not record the party to maintain privacy and any use by political enemies and detractors - or if Finnish society in general would likely not feel comfortable with such a recording. That’s my only concession and no doubt an important lesson was learned. Otherwise, I don’t think she has anything to be ashamed of. The accusing Finns should grow up.

In reality few of the Finnish public care about the Prime Minister partying like this at her own time. We are mostly angry about the media keeping writing about this, when the limited resources should be used to write about things that actually matter. The controversy was purposefully initiated by an extreme right-wing media outlet, and unfortunately further spread by the sensation-greedy general news media, quality of which has been going down in Finland too. News outlets seem to slip more and more into the territory that used to belong to tabloid magazines. There is one actually interesting aspect on this matter, namely how did the video get published (that question was brought up on this video too). Did a friend of an acquaintance betray Marin, or was the phone used to take the video hacked by an outside actor? In addition to the human aspect, that question has security implications.
