Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to "get Britain building" in the King's Speech.
The Prime Minister vowed to accelerate the delivery of more housing and infrastructure projects by changing existing planning laws - something that featured heavily in Labour's general election campaign.

😢and 53 odd days after the election what have we got. Winter fuel allowance for pensioners -- gone, 10% increase in energy prices (just before winter), houses built - zero, safe streets- mass stabbings and deaths, riots and unrest, Brexit thrown away, joining the eu army (if we have any forces left after the SDR), etc, etc. HOL to become the HO cronies, renationalisation, thousands of new public employees and new bodies, decentralisation on steroids (so surely we can cut the commons by half, fat chance).......arghhh.

Rishi Sunak brought back stability and growth to the economy. Inflation back to target of 2% and economy is gowing currently faster than any G7 nation and IMF predicts it to grow by 1.5% in 2025. So it's a pretty good inheritance that Labour are getting. Brown left the economy in a much worse state back in 2010.

I have no allegiance to the snobby side of my family, just in case any were to read this comment and wonder, lol. The worst age group afflicted with mental health issues is the 35 years and over. These people need better access to services. People need to be able to see a GP, not use the local pharmacy, and not wait on the telephone pressing all sorts of numbers trying to get through to the receptionist at the surgery, usually to find out he or she is a rottweiler in disguise!
